Diabolique Chest Detail???
Why would it be tintable if it weren't a player piece? That's not the same color as Diabolique's version.
That might just be the default way that they make every costume part.

Well, many oft-requested models, such as Rikti or PPD armor or until recently carnie masks, weren't even set up as costume parts. The model was just one inseparable chunk. It would have been easier for them to simply design Mot-infused Diabolique as a one-piece model, that her costume is made of parts at all to me says "this could hit the store some day."
It's possible that they already have other uses for this part planned for future NPCs - they might have some kind of system for NPC parts that are marked as either unique or multi-use.

Well, they've been making NPCs differently for a little while. Using the Player Character rigs and working from there instead of the old way (Think of the old CoT and the new CoT).
This was a design decision made that I thought most knew about.
So, the fact that a piece somewhat fits into the player creator doesn't really say anything in particular about its potential availability to players... other than yes, it would be possible and/or easier than creating a new piece, as the old way would have been.
That, however, doesn't mean they'd want to go handing around famous NPC's unique costumes.

Even if we got slightly modified versions of the NPC parts, that would be pretty sweet.

In fact what I'd dearly love to see is some new costume bundles (Signature Costume Bundle #1, Signature Costume Bundle #2, etc) designed around unique NPC parts. They don't necessarily have to be exact duplicates but "inspired by" and "pretty close" would be acceptable. They also don't even have to be full fledged costume sets. Just parts. Think of Ms. Liberty's belt and shoulder options, Foreshadow's hair, visor and gloves, Mynx's letter shaped belt buckle etc. Take all that and put it into a bundle... there's probably a good 4 or 5 bundles they can put together just from enemies and npcs right now never mind as new enemies/npcs are added...

I could live with this...

But I'm thinking the one thing they'd keep back from players is especially the signature pieces. They wouldn't want every SS/Invuln sporting BAB's bracers/gloves, or every archer using Manticore's bow or headpiece.
This idea is pure win.

Having parts that are exact duplicates but generic enough for players to use (Foreshadow's hair for example) and some parts that are close but maybe not exact duplicates (Ms. Liberty's belt for example) so as to keep the signature npc's unique, can work as multiple bundles that PS can sell to us without having to start from scratch or even create fully fleshed out "sets".
That said... as paid for products... whats the harm is selling us exact duplicates of every signature costume bit? We'll be spending cash on these and what better way to entice us to spend than with the things we are taunted with by npc's daily.

I'll give my thumbs up to the idea of NPC-inspired costume parts!

Dear Lord, protect me from the utter hilariousness of proclaiming: "Let's go back to closed beta so the costume bugs will only leak to the Chosen Few!" mindset. What in hell's bells purpose would that serve?!
[Like that would help.... these are the people who can't spell "Self Reparing War Walker" right.] You think that's gonna fix the problem? We have gotten unexpected costume part reveals on LIVE before.
With that said, snip the top and bottom ribbons off the Diabolique breastplate and let the players have it, please, this includes the chest and back spikes leave 'em on there please. That would be a very nice thing for the developers to do.
p.s. that Fire/Ice hat is sheer win
I love that chest detail!
Here's really hoping it winds up usable by players. I'd even buy it out of the market.
What they NEED is to go back to closed beta testing. That way, people won't be under the impression that they can go posting information/pictures about stuff on beta that may not be part of the content being tested in the general discussion forum.

Never fool yourself into thinking these Issues are no longer tested in some form of "closed beta" before we get to see it.

Even though the statistics show I'd not be invited, I'd be way more than ok with this.
I wonder if there's not enough VIPs that'd do it, so they went open to entice more...
/I find playing it to test, then having, in a certain sense, to play it again on the mains sorta makes it not special when it goes live, for myself.
//I also try to avoid spoilers about Beta stuff, but this one intrigued me.
