My idea's for some new power-sets.
I take it you played DCUO?
What would make Sorcery unique? Essentially, you can make any powerset into Sorcery... in your bio/head. And as far as I am concerned, Wands and Magical Staves should be added as customization options for existing sets, not in a brand new one.
Speed? How is that a powerset? Take Hasten and Super Speed... on anyone. Done. If you want one like DCUO, grab an Electric set and color it yellow.
Also, as an aside, English does not use apostrophes to make plurals.
This game looks at magic / sorcery as an origin. It's the source of your <powerset>. Although I do like the idea of a light power set to balance the darkness power sets that have proliferated through a few archetypes. (Extra damage/control against demons, undead, etc. heal / rez powers ...)
You could piece together a speed themed toon easy enough (with magical origins and overtones even). Off the top of my head, the speed auxiliary power set, street justice, super reflexes... Get enough end redux to keep superspeed going during combat, try not to piss too many ppl off with whirlwind ...
Seems two people missed what i wrote on "I have a speed based character" >->
For magical its to balance lots of things, to be able to have a unique taste of nearly all the sets into a nice little bundle.
First skill Fire spell, Like shooting flares at your opponent
Second, Time spell, Slows down opponents or Speeds up allies
And so on
Speed based You didn't read what i said with more MELEE speed skills, Rather than "I run fast and that's the basis of my character."
Look at the flash, He could speed up basically his whole body to the point he could Vibrate through walks, create Tornado's, And so on. I know tornado's is already in the speed section as "Whirlwind" but i mean on a larger scale, where it throws either A: some people around or B: People in the cone get through back (Like if you were to rapidly wave your hands out infront of you.)
I'd love a sorcery type set and I do think that's a valid hole in what's available.
The 'interrupt' mechanic is not well explored, but it's a niche some gamers like. Risk vs reward, more work to get a higher pay out. A casting wand waving staff swinging ritual that's interruptable, but has excellent range and high damage. If you solo carefully or the team has their stuff together it's overpowered, if things come off the wire you're hosed. XD
My 2¢.
Can't say I agree with the speed set. There are already sets and ancillary pools to make tornadoes, become intangible, or do a cone shaped knockdown. Every attack set can make a non-stop chain and the speed pool already helps recharge.
We don't have a water set either, but I've made a water sprite magic character that looks fantastic. We don't have a lot of things people play every day. Speed is a character theme that -IMHO- you could do with existing power sets, speed pool powers, the power customization system, and some imagination.
Yeah i know what you mean With my speed character i just kind of went with one of the "Fastest" recharges which as far as i know is Claws.
i suppose if i wanted i could Reduce the recharge on nearly anything but i mean just a class built around speed, Like we have sets for Healing and other things, could even be a viable "2nd" option.
Just seems kinda a waste to have all other skills for Batman (if you fiddle around a little) super man, Aquaman Etc etc, but when it comes to the flash the most he gets as sort of a "Tribute" is just a 3rd skill tree with about 4 skills.
My character "Blurred After-image" is just a Claws/Super reflex girl and leveling her speed up is a pain when i have all 7 slots for speed full and you just don't get that sense your going fast enough.
But thanks for your 2cents I will put it near my 4 >=O
I'd like to see more magical looking animations (More Demon Summoning-esque), but I don't think they could make a "Sorcery" set without people being unhappy with what it is (what role it covers, Ranged, Support, Defense, etc). "Sorcery" has to broad a definition and any number of people hearing the word may think of any number of different things.
Ideally I'd like them to add more Rune-y, distinctly magic-looking animations to existing sets.
We know from Titan Weapons that it's possible for powers to have more than one animation (even more than one animation time). Likewise Synapse (I believe) stated during the i22 beta (with regard to updating dark powers to use the new Darkness Control quality graphics) that there's no reason powers can't have multiple distinct options for particle effects.
That involves a lot of work though, even if they were to reuse a lot of the new "sorcery" animations for multiple powers.
I think the hard part about sorcery is the magic origin. When they put in... titan weapons for example: all it takes is a handful of weapon options to satisfy every origin. Radiation blast can come from any origin the player wants to convey with a costume.
Things like Sorcery, Power Armor, or Shape Shifting really lean hard on some origins and not others. This probably lowers their attractiveness to a dev team trying to select what to put out next to satisfy lots of people.
Hello everyone, I'm new (and French) and so I thought give developers the power of ideas was an excelent way to participate in the evolution of COH, and I thought I would agree that specialization has a lot of AT , the mastery of skills, such as auxiliary or secondary power, and I already have all the powers thought but if this does not suit you, feel free to tell me:
1 - Speed tenfold
you can move your corp way faster, allowing you to move faster! inherent power, increases the rate of 3.5%
2-Eagle Eye
Developed your eye is more than the others, allowing you to see more clearly! increases accuracy of 5%, temp short recharging, low cost endurance
3-bestial instinctual
Wake your instinctive animal, allowing you to increase your skills! inherent power increases all the features of 1%
4-Repulsion sound
Your skin is able to forward the sounds your enemies, thereby attracting them to you! power of provocation, temp recharge short, medium endurance cost
5-detector living
Your brain works like radar, allowing you to see things that others do peuven inherent power allows you to see invisible enemies
6-Reflection of light
your skin is able to reflect light! allowing you to become invisible to simple! Active stealth, temp charging means, endurance low cost
7-Rest natural
your corp is able to absorb vital energies in the vicinity, which restores your! inherent power, increases endurance regeneration and health of 5%
8-Override
Multiplies your force unimaginable way! increases attack by 75%, temp charging very long, cost in extreme endurance
9-Reinforcement
Your skin becomes harder, increasing your strength! inherent power increases resistance to all damage except psionic 10%

For sorcery istead of that one, I would like to see a mix of elemantal powers in a power set maybe called Elemantal Fury.
I think the game could beniffit from new animations for old powers as much as it can by selling new power sets. Think about it, if a whole new set of animations came out for claws or bs would you buy it? I know I would.
How about Spell casting animations for the blast sets? I am pretty sure stuff like that would sell in the store.
Shoot, I am not sure why they have not made combat stance toggles that are 0 end to sell in the store. You can fight from the Ninja run animation, it just costs a ton of end.
On this, I am sure I am the odd man out.
Types of Swords
My Portfolio
I think they could do some interesting stuff with a speedster character. The attack animations can consist of causing your character to vanish then blurry streaks spin around your enemy with multiple punching sound effects and lots of damage numbers popping up. That'll give the illusion of entering into a superspeed state and punch your enemy multiple times.
They could then set it using the DB/StJ/AF combo mechanic that, once you use your first attack, circles all of your powers with orange circles, and as long as you activate another power (doesn't matter which one) during the super speed state, said power will have a bonus range on it that causes your character model to stay invisible, but instantly teleport to your next target, up to a distance of lets say... 15ft.
Alternately they could make the "super speed" ability a clicky power that makes it so that all of your attacks activated in the duration of that power will have the above effect.
That'll give the impression of your character blasting around the combat area at super speeds, knocking the crap outta things.
I've been playing for a good year now and i am surprised no one has came up with these before. I mean, BB set is not all that "Great"..so here is my idea's, no idea if its the right or wrong spot.
Magician/Sorcerer Set
This is a skill set that grants the user a Staff/wand or nothing if they choose it (So they caste spells with their hands) This set is a mixture of the elements, Light dark, Earth fire water, etc.
Speed Set
I've come up with a villain, and i am sure lots of heroes have been made with Speed based powers, Why not have a set FOR people who rely on speed. So attacks that do half the damage, but maybe are just as fast or faster than claws recharge speed. Or several "barrage' type attacks.
