Double XP Weekend Events

I've looked here and there for the events on Liberty for 2xp weekend.

Presently, we have a Hamidon Raid on March 17th, Saturday at 7:30 pm Eastern time.
We also have Scrapper Saturday at 9PM and and MSR scheduled for 930 pm that evening as well.

If you folks promise to bring your characters level 35 and up, I'll host an Extra MSR for everyone (until the league is full) at 6:00 pm Eastern.

That will give us time to get to the hive for the hami raid.

Also, I hope to run a ugt after the hami raid in RWZ.

Well, I'll be making sure the lower level content gets some love, even if it means forming a pug up on a moments notice.

The Drowning in Blood Trial may not have lost it's charm by the 2xp weekend, especially since it seems more intriuging than DFB in terms of story, as well as game-play, so I might run lots of those. Positrons, Synapses, whatever, I'll run them so we can get the new lowbies we're sure to have come Tuesday out of the lower levels asap.

PS - I also promise to bite my tongue as much as possible everytime someone forms an itrial or 45+ only team. Not *literally*, since if last 2xp weekend was any guide I'd lack a tongue by Saturday night. Never ceases to amaze me when people ignore double xp to run incarnate content, which isn't affected by it...

Even against certain death, it matters not how or if we fight, only that we do.

Can't forget those DBTs... - Drowning in Blood Trials. Which will be heavily ran.

This may surprise you, but I know of at least 1 player who only has level 50s on this server. I suspect they'll be exemping, or possibly powerleveling some folks. <shrug> As for me, I plan to go to pocket d after the msr, just in case folks want to run ugt. I don't want to lead it, but will if need be.
I enjoy the UGT far more than any of the sub 50 content. Getting xp is too easy to really fret over 2xp weekend - but I do know that a lot of players have a tough time with it, thus my reason for offering a second msr.

I do still think we should get something of a Praetorian superteam together. Those of us that don't have a Praetorian toon, or that want another and can't stand stuffing through the good, albeit slow content.

With the new powersets out, Praetoria would give us a good chance of learning them, instead of DfB > DiB runs I'm sure are going to be all over the place. Maybe start Friday when people get off work, or something so that it dont end up interfering with Scrapper Saturday.

What do you guys think?

Inf gains and Prestige bonuses are affected from what I remember.

I'm still thinking about this. On the last double xp weekend, I ran a toon each day through praetoria. If there's a set group that starts at a set time and keeps going, I'm ok with that. But most folks are only going to be able to play an hour or two at a time. Still thinking..

They are. Last 2xp I ran on a +4 ITF. Lots of money in a short 90 minutes.

Fair enough. Frankly, this time around, I'm not really all that worried about having people for low-level content since we'll be getting new powersets tonight.

I will most likely spend a majority of the double XP weekend earning INF/Prestige on my 50s as frankly I have enough 50s collecting dust already and besides, leveling in this game is already stupidly easy.

That's not to say I won't create the alt here or there to group with my friends/SG mates who do the same. But most times after double XP has ended said characters sit unplayed on my character select screen for months until I finally get sick of looking at them and hit the -delete- key.

In the interest of trying to help folks have a feeling of community here on Liberty, I did make a character today, and passed up the tutorial. I'll keep him there and form teams, or join them as needed.

I also have a lot of characters that are dormant a good bit, but as my 50's get all decked out incarnate wise, I'll work on the lowbies some more.

I just learned that the dom with ice/ice powersets has an ice circle AoE. I'm anxious to see how that works with my playstyle.

Oh, I'm sure you know, Mystic, but there's a 100k prestige bonus when the goldside toons join your group. (inf earning will still be weak, but I'm pretty sure you really don't have any inf concerns)

I'll be up for whatever...only 2 toons that aren't lvl 50 so far. My lvl 39 Time/BR Def. and my lvl 25 Ice/TW Tanker (Villain though).

I'm not sure if I want to make a new toon even with Dark control/affinity/assault sets...none of those sets really appeal to me.

If Staff Fighting comes out before Double XP weekend though.... ^_^

I was aware of that, but with Freedom, one really doesn't need to start a character Goldside.

However, is that a permanent increase to prestige? Or is it lost when/if the character leaves the SG?

Also, you are right. While I don't -need- the INF. I despise the market, and never really use it to exploit others out of their INF. I'd prefer to just generate it out of thin air.

It's a permanent increase to prestige. It won't show up as prestige earned by that character, but it's a one time boost to prestige for the first SG that the character joins. If that character leaves the sg, the prestige remains with the sg.

I have leveled several toons to level 20 from outbreak, and they earn about 25-50k prestige in those 20 levels. (depends on teaming, soloing, defeats, etc.)

As for how much a level 50 would earn in a weekend - that's gonna vary a good bit. Your guess is as good as mine how much that would be.

Not a massive amount - most of the cash my TW/Elec gets from farming is from drops (selling common IO recipes to vender), not direct increases. Though he does play in SG mode, so that might have something to do with it.

I'm going to treat DBL XP as any other weekend, I just want to be doing something.

And please please please bring some 50s to the msr. These msrs tend to go rather bad on doublexp when 65% of the raid is level 20s. If you die don't wait 10 mins for a revive, hospital!

There's a simple solution, and it's likely to be inflammatory for some. Because vanguard merits aren't earned until level 35, there are several folks who feel that the msr should be only for members of Vanguard - those with the badge that entitle them to be able to earn Vanguard Merits.

Simply, politely ask them to switch to a toon level 35 or higher.

And, obviously, without at least 6 level 50s to lead each team, the msr can't really happen with any degree of fun - unless some would count team wipes as fun.

I have a bunch of lowbies, so I'll be running some Synapses and Moonfires etc.. I also have 2 Praetorians (both around 13-15) so if anyone wants a Gold Team hit me up.

6 per team would be a dream. I'd be happy to see atleast 4 per team, 1 per team being a buffer or debuffer.

Sorry Noy - you may have misunderstood. I was suggesting 6 in total - one level 50 to lead each team. The use of buffs and debuffs would almost be mandatory - a SSK'd toon to level 49, against a level 54 Elite Boss is going to be either a very long fight, or a very quick one, with the level 49 losing without them.

You know this, I know this. But many of our playerbase have never heard of the purple patch. And they rarely look at league chat, because they're too busy drooling over their xp bar, watching it move.

I could be wrong, I very often am. But I have a strong suspicion that we'll have several players that show up with lowbies - but will be only too glad to switch, provided they can get back in zone.

And this is why they'll want to be sure to come with their higher level toons initially. (they may not get back in!)

People like Mystic Fortune and Tax E have both already expressed they're not concerned with XP, so that *could* be a couple of players that would show up. At a minimum, I suspect that their thinking is not very different from many other players. Should be a little shaky, but once in the bowl, all should be fine.

To be honest, now that I've got 12 level 50s, 2 with only alpha unlocked, I'm more interested in sharding up the the two new 50s than making new ones, so I'll probably bring one of those to the next few MSRs (including the 2XP ones).

After much thought, and getting bored (already!) with new DA, I'm up for a superteam starting in goldside.

I have 3 brand new level 1's that I made ahead of time, so they can accrue the patrol xp, and I'm in the process of crafting the IOs I like for all my lowbies to have until they get to blue side.

First ward is fine by me-- but only if I go blue side and join my sg first, which I'm pretty sure I can.

I still have Semnai (That lvl 12 Psi blaster I was trying to solo awhile back- o_0) hanging around in Praetoria... 'Wouldn't mind a bit of teaming, even at lower levels, to push her closer to an escape from the place. It made perfect sense to start her there, given the whole "former seer" gig, but... sheeze. I had no clue at the time just how tough it would be to get her out on her own. Soloing a blaster Primal-side is dicey enough, but doing it in Praetoria is just pain-in-the-rear material.

Re: the ship raids... I would prefer to bring the Nemissary or the Bride, given that my goal for the weekend is to get the two of them from the mid-40s to 50, but it's starting to sound like I'd get the evil eye for bringing them instead of someone who would CONTRIBUTE MOAR!!1! by virtue of being "finished" already. You're likely to end up with my Empath or Force Field defender.
