Crushing Impact and Kin Melee looking for secondary

Hello all.
I have been replacing my Crushing Impacts with Kin Combats in some of my builds and now I have a huge stockpile of premade Crushings.

I would like to use these on a new toon, but reading the forums I am confused as to which Scrapper/Brute Secondary is bad boy enough to not require the Lethal/Smashing bonus of Kin Combats or the Melee bonus of Touch Of Death.

I am interested in starting a Kin Melee scrapper, and would like to use the Crushings with it.....can someone here help me find a compatable secondary?

I solo so changing the diff settings is no big deal, and I do believe in using inspirations.

If you want something that doesn't need/benefit from s/l defense, go with wither Shield Defense, or Super Reflexes. Both focus on positional defense rather than typed, so s/l defense does them literally no good at all. I suggest SD for a kin scrapper personally. As a kin, you'll want scrapper over brute for insta recharged siphon, and the larger damage buff per hit. Add in shield's damage buffing, and you'll have a killing machine. And if you don't mind using inspirations every group, you can get 32.5 defense to m/r/a really easy and just pop a purple.

Super Reflexes requires little to no set bonuses to reach the soft cap leaving room for using whatever sets you might wish in the build ... such as Crushing Impacts.

That said I mostly used sets for +max health and +regen (specifically 3 Mako + 3 ToD per 6 slotted attack) on my Claws/SR and while CI has +max health it is the same bonus as available in LotG which had me at the Rule of 5 limit already.

Shield, as Pyro indicated, would be the other set that jumps out at me. Shield also probable benefits more than SR from gaining recharge over a range of recharge rates primarily do to Shield Charge. More always helps SC whereas there's quite a jump in the needed recharge from solid attack chains to very high dps chains on SR (if that makes sense).

I would say Invuln. If you use the +Psy Resistance from Crushing Impact with Impervium Armor and build to plug Psy Hole, you will find a very SUPER hero...And Brute for sure...

KM/EA on a scrapper is one heck of a combo.

I would also suggest SR but if you are not going to get defense bonus from attack sets than it means more slotting defense powers which reduce your either dps or other survival options (res, regen, heath) Never made a shield toon but except DDR (and it will be only effective after i22 goes live) shield looks a better set on survival and dps fronts.

This is approaching the question from a... bit of a different angle, but, have you considered selling the Crushing Impact enhancements rather than going out of your way to make another character to put them in?

They're not exactly going to be optimal in most cases.

I24 Proc Chance = (Enhanced Recharge + Activation Time) * (Current PPM * 1.25) / 60*(1 + .75*(.15*Radius - 0.011*Radius*(360-Arc)/30))
Single Target Radius = 0. AoE Non-Cone Arc = 360.

Draeth Darkstar, my seriously played toons are all scrappers/Brutes and yet I have never gotten a Kinetic Melee toon past level 20, so I wanted to make a final stab at it.

I am sitting on all these crafted Crushings, so I was wondering if I could make use of them. Selling them though, would indeed give my new toon some starting cash.

Pyro-Master, Doomguide, and Kangstor, this morning I made a Kin/Shields and upon logging into Atlas for the first time, I immedietly went looking for a Hellion to beat up. I found a group of two hellions, and started swinging at them before I conned them.

While fighting I saw that my level 1 scrap was taking on a big bad level 4 Lt.

Not only did I emerge the victor, taking down both LT and his buddy, but I also got a salvage drop...didn't think 4s could drop salvage, but this one did

So I am taking this as a sign that I am meant to keep this little scrapper and take her to the heights...which means Touch Of Death IOs and not Crushings

Energy _Aura I have a Fire/Invul Scrap..but upon hearing about how tasty Brute Invul is I am thinking of rerolling her into a Katana/Invul Brute.

Darth_Khasei /Energy Aura does indeed interest me. I am thinking of using Energy as the secondary for Staff when it comes out...but..I don't understand something...the Energy Cloak makes you transparent in order to sneak around, but it, Energy Cloak, is also the Taunt Aura??? How can you sneak about when your aura is screaming "Here I am" to the enemies?

It looks as if you've found your KM. So...

If you really want to use the CIs consider a non-Def set such as /Regen, /Dark or /Elect if you're going to stick to Brute/Scrapper (also consider a Stalker with the upcoming buffs). Or perhaps a melee-centric Dom if you want to look at another AT. However, there's one other obvious choice - a Night Widow. The +Rech is helpful in getting perma-Mind Link, and the toons play a lot like a slightly squishy Claws/SR Scrapper with a few tricks otherwise.
