There's also thw message that merging servers sends to potential players.

Would you start playing a game that just merged servers together after 8 years? I wouldn't, on the assumption that the game will not be around long enough to make it worth my time to play.

It doesn't matter if the game actually dies within 6 months or not. The press release telling people CoH merged a bunch of servers together would be all that is needed to keep people away from the game.

And there is also the fact that I, and many players like me, LIKE my quiet server. I don't want to play on a server that has so many people on it I lag just trying to travel to a mission. If I wanted to play like that, I would be already.

Just to correct a technical point: The servers were not merged. They were relocated and the server lists were joined. Technically, there is now no distinction between EU and NA servers - the only distinction is two servers localised for French and German, and a little bit of history.

Why yes! Yes I do! Thanks for noticing!

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

Then there's supergroups and bases.

Its not a *limitation* because they are theoretically surmountable, but they are hurdles and not low hurdles either.
It's not really a "technical" hurdle. It's a social one.

Incorrect. This was a server LIST merge.

So instead of having

US Servers and EU Servers

We now have a combined list of ALL of the above servers and a player can play on ANY of them. Plus a new server has since been added for VIP players.

Angry fansbases count as technical hurdles.

Example chosen due to lack of internal organs being external

The root problem is social though.

Take care of the social issues, and you can avoid the complimentary technical repercussions.

The easiest way to eliminate a root problem is to run this:

So according to another of the OP's threads the OP has just bought and registered a copy of Going Rogue. Now all he has to do is join some global channels and he should find it easier to find teams.

Yeah, a good degausser or a scrapyard magnetic hoist can sometimes take a rootkit off your neighbor's computer while you're doing your own. It's like a twofer.

That and if you can get a camera in there, you can get a shot of their face as their case, monitor and what-not rocket towards the wall nearest the scrapyard hoist. It ought to be worth 15 minutes of fame for the stupid, stunned "Someone hit me in the back of the head with a board (a 6x6 no less)." look.

If you're interested in playing villain side on protector there are 2 weekly villain events that you can participate in: VEAT Madness, run by Black Leather Angel, and Strike Force Sundays run by me. To join VEAT Madness you'll need to be playing a Villain Epic AT, though on rare occasions exceptions are made.

*Sigh*

We can create our own drama here. We don't need to import it!

When I saw this post, I was wondering why this thread had been moved to the Protector forum section...
