I got the full costume set in my first 7 packs. No Wolf, and not much in the ATO's, but plenty of merits and some Boosters, so I'm happy with my haul.

Almost got all of the costumes, missing 3. I got the wolf, so that's awesome.

OK. Now that you've had a couple days to mull over your purchases (leaving any fanboi affiliations at the door), do those that have invested in the super packs feel that your investment was worthwhile? I'd like to know if they are worth the trouble.

Honestly, my only interest is in the ATO's. As many of you can attest, I'm not much for costume design and reward merits I can get easily enough. I have no real interest in spending any more money on the game than my $15/month and I really would like an additional enh. tray. I've been saving my points since a few initial purchases to that end. However, the ATO's look interesting.

Anyway. Opinions?

Super packs are first and foremost just for the costume stuff right now. The inspirations/temp powers are worthless and kind of insulting. Hopefully this will change if they continue along this path later on.

The chance for ATOs and catalysts are fairly small. Conflicting reports of catalysts dropping in itrials as of now, but with I22, ATOs and catalysts are supposedly supposed to drop for *everything* (again, conflicting reports, but they are supposed to drop in game at that time). ATOs seem pretty good on their own, and the Superiors even more so, but I have no interest in going whole hog on them for characters with really good IO builds already. Superiors maybe, but I'm waiting for I22.

/2 cents - Not worth the points unless you want costumes, have nothing else to spend points/money on, or have a horrible addiction to pointless gambling.

And I really wish I could sell the Wolf pet

I've already forgotten about most of you

My investment was completely NOT worthwhile, but I spent more than I had to. If I had an experience where I bought 10 packs and got the whole costume set, I'd feel much better about my experience.

If you want ATOs, hit the market while you can. It might already be too late, but I've had good luck buying ATOs from 20 to 30Minf, which is much cheaper than 400 Reward Merits + 25Minf.

If I had my way, this would be the last Super Pack, but I'm sure they made a boatload of money, so we'll see them again, and probably with a costume set behind them. Without the costume set, I don't pay one cent for these packs and I get ATOs through the market or merits/astrals.

I still need to get a few costume pieces and have already bought 25 of them. If they continue to add different items, pets, badges?, then I will continue to buy them, but feel that the insps/temps/etc aren't that awesome. They are cheap though, so it's not that bad if you buy them as one offs.

I got 9 Catalysts out of it, so my Stalker main is rocking a Superior Stalker ATO set.

Still, though... way too much god damn money.
one of the biggest problems that I saw when I was a slot tech was people leaving money in machines, we were switching to a coinless format, so the currency was converted into a voucher. Odd amounts were allowable and that's where the problems of perception played heavily. adding to that casinos are designed to be disorienting. Customers would often go to play a $1.00 machine with an odd amount, typically 200.00 plus an odd amount, like $0.25 the machine would take the $200.00 and spit out a $0.25 ticket. Because the machine immediately spit out a ticket, they would think the machine was faulty, and leave to find another machine. The customer, often in a state of bewilderment, would overlook the amount on the ticket and the fact that the machine still had the credits in queue. countless times I had to tell a customer, "Sorry, the history on this machine tells me someone cashed it out" <and probably hit the door with it>. customers fault, right? Laws sat yes, it's the customers fault... right? Here's what matters: NOT to them. I lost count on the times that I have been accosted in public places, restaurants, malls, movie theaters, for being the guy that "took their money" it downright got to a point where I couldn't even go to toys r us to browse consoles.

My point, a little clarity on the descriptions of said items goes further than one would think. Especially when you are making efforts to keep tabs on your inventory. More moving parts, more that can go wrong.

I'm not entirely bashing this new thing, It's not one bit of my business or concern how people chose to spend their money -however- anyone else get a "taint of gambling" feeling to this?

Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.

As I said I got the costume set in 7 packs, bought 15 overall. That, in combination with the fact that I did want some enhancement boosters and don't mind unslotters and such, I don't feel like I wasted my time or money. I love all the reward merits I have waiting there now, so that's a plus for me, but I wouldn't go to this for the ATO's. It feels like you'll get any one of them but the ones that you want. I doubt I will buy any more packs out of this set, I have enough stuff to last me a while, and will just wait until I can get them using reward tokens.

Heck, if anyone needs any of the few ATO's I got I'll gladly trade them, or at least sell them at a greatly reduced price.
