New Epic AT Question
I would welcome any new AT/EAT to the game. I have actually posted several ideas of my own around a single invoking/ shape shifting themed AT/EAT, feel free to check them out. I would love to read your idea.
The whole 'Tankmage' argument is so much fallacy, given that pretty much every type of power has already been combined in the current EATs. All it requires is balancing, something the Devs have a pretty good track record for, really. If anything, many would still argue that Khelds are in fact underpowered at times (mostly the fault of clunky mechanics when it comes to form shifting)
However, one thing to bear in mind is that the Dev meaning of 'Epic' in Epic AT is specifically 'tied to a section of canon and a particular story'. The 'Epic' has nothing to do with power levels or the like, but instead a specific background.
I, personally, would be very happy to have a Power Armour style AT, like the PPD Hardsuits/Praetorian IDF etc. I'd LOVE to get big armour and bigger guns.
However; long held suggestion: Rikti AT
Rikti backstory: Substantial
Room fo exploration: Considerable
Unique AT opportunities: Many
Option; Neutral AT: Available
Traditionalist: Restructurist: Hero and: Villain
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

I agree with the above post. I'd also love to see more Rikti architecture.

If Masterminds didn't suck, they'd be the most powerful AT in the game.
I could be wrong, but isn't that the point of EATs? That they are tied to the lore?

Plus, /signed for the rikti.
Wanted: Origin centric story arcs.
If you've only played an AT once (one set combo) and "hate" it - don't give up. Roll a different combo. It may just be those sets not clicking for you.
I'd just like to add:
My WarShade doesn't feel confined to the ingame story one bit. I think I talked to ShadowStar once and then forgot all about the Kheldian arcs.
Kheldians however have more flexibility in this sense than Soldiers though. Redside could us an EAT that isn't so bound to Arachnos as that is harder to explain away, at least until you unlock a 2nd costume that is.
Maestro Mavius - Infinity
Capt. Biohazrd - PCSAR
Talsor Tech - Talsorian Guard
Keep Calm & Chive On!
It'd be even better if SoA weren't forced to use those god-awful rifles. Ditto with the Widows and the claws.

Powered Armor does sound interesting, though I am unsure if it should be an EAT or a new powerset adapted to existing ATs. Still though, a cool idea! IF it were EAT, you would have to define the EPIC part and shoe horn them into the continuity.
edit: Perhaps the Powered Armor could be tied to a Crey story line?

I completely agree, I have two AS and I really dislike their choices for rifles. Neither of them are villains anymore, so it seems to me (Story wise) that they should no longer be locked to those same ugly rifles.
I would love to have a Rikti EAT as well.
Paragon Protectors deserve an EAT, like the Rikti, the lore is mostly in place and not so difficult to flesh out.
But. . . I really really REALLY want to see Quantums, Voids and Galaxies (Oh my!) developed as EATs.
Ever since my first EAT (I tried 'em...I really did) I've felt a bit underwhelmed. I don't like the fact that both blue and red side EATs are tied so specifically to their backgrounds. I'd like something more flexible.
Years ago I started working on a Powered Armor AT. It was somewhat complicated to play (sort of like Khelds are now) but I thought that it would be fun and entirely playable. I kept getting shot down over the fact that the design promoted the 'Tankmage' idea. Then SoAs came out. Now we have an entire AT that can fight either melee or ranges as the player prefers and yet can have defenses including Status protection. To me this means the Tankmage thing is no longer an issue...the precedent has already been set.
However with all the Incarnate stuff flying around right now is there even room for a new AT? I'm thinking about diving back into the project but I wanted to hear some pros and cons from the Forum first.
What do you all think? Is there room for another EAT and if it was fun and playable would you play a Powered Armor character?
