how much can a stalker do from Hide?

I have heard that spring attack and an electric attack use pseudo pets so they do not break hide. Is there a build/bag of tricks for a stalker that runs around while in hide while fighting?

As far as I know, that's the only two powers that don't break Hidden because the damage is done through a "pet".

You can still get hit as soon as you land. You have to follow up with another attack quickly because the knock down chance isn't 100% and you don't always hit every target.

So, basically, you are not going to just hop from one enemy group to another without breaking hidden. You are bound to get hit after you land.

The downside is that since the damage is done through a "pet", it currently doesn't generate Focus but you still want to use lightning rod. It is too good even without Focus generation.

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

You've both forgotten about Caltrops, but admittedly that's limited to one Secondary Power Set.

But don't you get aggro right away when caltrops hit? I know I can que up an attack after lightning rod hits because it has knock down. I've even timed it with an assassin strike if it's only one target and knock down happens.

Waterspout also.

As soon as any of the pets/pseudopets do damage agro is generated for you. Knockdown helps remove risk, but the agro is there.

Summoning Lore Pets doesn't break hide and neither do non attacks (like the medicine pool)

okay, so not breaking hide is not the same as not getting aggro - that makes a huge difference

As others have pointed out, the most you can contribute dmg wise in hide is with a, Elec/**/Leviathan stalker with Spring Attack.

With BU, Water Sprout, LR, Spring Attack and Thunderstrike used in succession, you put a good smack on groups and only break hide post Thunderstrike. It's not an every mob situation but it's fun

You get aggro from any attack, you just don't break hide with pet powers. So throwing in Caltrops adds to the damage from hide, while you rely on defense to not get hit and land all the others.

You can Recall Friend a teammate into a group and let him take the alpha strike/gain some aggro. It's like a sneak attack for the enemies and your teammate whether you choose to tell him.

Yes, this is an excellent way to Win Friends and Influence People.

I've done that with Team Teleport (the pool power) before. Someone on the team said "pull?" so I pulled everyone in.

And why not!

Life is one big practical joke that we as the human race have yet to see the punchline to. Once you work that out the rest is easy.

Just to note, I do like dropping my Patron Pet to hold aggro while I'm setting up an attack chain.

(The Night Widow I have on loan from Ghost Widow's squad, Ingrid, is not as big a fan of this tactic as I am.)
