Market Io's and Email

Ok before I do this I would like to know.
Since Pargon Market IO's are account locked. When you strip them from one toon to email them to another does it go as a CHARACTER item (effectively unlimited storage til later) or does it go via ACCOUNT item (limited in time to claim and space by number of emails)?

This is important as the first would allow me to use the ios at my leasure the second I would have to swap back and forth between the 2 toons and be ready to use the io's now.

Hmm, well all emails in-game that have any attachment MUST go to your global account (or another global account, if you are sending them to another player or a second account).

So I'd guess that the IOs would go to your account. However, that's not an account item, that's a regular email (so neither character nor account, they'd just show up under email). And all attachments are limited to 20 items total, so you won't get unlimited storage no matter what.

But I haven't actually tried stripping any Market IOs off a character and emailing them, so I don't know if there's any additional wrinkles involved (like, can Market IOs be emailed at all?).

I would also say regular mail. Once you have claimed something I don't think you can get it back to the account or global areas again. They would ship like any normal enhancement you email.

Well here's the answer.

Used an old dead account.
Logged in.
Spent 100 PP on Market IO
Claimed it on a toon (From Character Items).
Emailed to self via global.
It arrived in the INBOX.

This means that yes it has a limited life of 60 days.
It does have the limited space based on how many emails you currently have.

This does put a hurt on Stripping a toon with alot of Market Io's and the idea that you could loose an item that you paid for isn't very nice of Paragon either.

Well, they do give you 60 days to claim the item, and plenty of warning that there's a timer ticking down. And of course, you can always wait to email (or even buy) the IO until you actually need to use it, instead of storing it in email for weeks ahead of time. I think if a player loses an item, the player is at fault for being careless, not Paragon for not being nice.

Why would it take you more than 60 days to pull an enhancement off of one character and slot it on another?

Emails were never intended to be used as storage bins and the 60 day limit is more than enough time for a player to find another alt to hold any extra enhancements until he decides where to put them.

Invest in extra enhancement trays that way a character can hold 30 enhancements. That way 2 alts can store all the enhancements off of another alts build.

I was deleting an alt the other day I used 3 respec to get what I wanted back and put them in base storage the re
st I sold, that way they are in the base and safe till needed.
Only had normal IO,s nothing that was account based but I only have 1 account,I know that if they were character based I would not have been able to do it.

Its not just the 60 day part. Its that email has in the past lost items to weird bounces, resets, rollbacks, and bugs.

Also I was hoping it would roll back to Character item thus making everything easier.

But it is what it is and the fact that I can reuse Market ios is a good thing. Just seems like a backward step after the devs allowed more enhancement slots and io stripping to make reslotting easier.

Least now others know what happens when you unslot a market io and email it.

As far as I know, only the "system" can send things to your character/account items inboxes. Mail from a player, even if that player is you, even if the mail has an attachment, even if that attachment is account-bound, goes to your inbox.

Always.

FUN FACT: That burst of light when you level up is actually the effectiveness escaping from your enhancements all at once.

If an item just vanishes from your email due to a bug, you should be able to get it back through a petition. I've heard of a few cases where that happened, and each time the player was able to get their stuff back. The 60 day limit is intentional, but losing stuff randomly for no reason is not WAI and you should have recourse if it happens.

Now those very same things you mention happening to me are even more reason not to let things sit in emails longer than it takes me to log off and log back onto a destination character and claim them.

And I have sent 20 items and then reclaimed them many times.

Maybe it's just me but it baffles me that people will leave stuff sitting in a feature that crashes and has a time limit. I just don't get it.

Drew their swords and shot each other.
One was blind and the other couldn't see,
So they chose a dummy for a referee.
A blind man went to see fair play,
A dumb man went to shout "hooray!"
A deaf policeman heard the noise,
And came and shot the two dead boys.
A paralyzed donkey walking by,
Kicked the copper in the eye,
Sent him through a nine inch wall,
Into a dry ditch and drowned them all.
(If you don't believe this lie is true,
Ask the blind man -- he saw it too!)

I don't know how long you've been on planet earth, but I just want to warn you in case you're new here (lol): conversations are fluid and you have little to no control over where they go. Hopefully you can learn to deal with this fact and stop getting crabby when conversations change topics.

Speaking of bacon since the topic was brought up. How was your holidays Agge? Did you enjoy the Winter Event? I was checking out the launch of another MMO recently and asked myself if it will have any impact on the upcoming presidential election. What do you think?

Very true. I lost some 5 IOs that I was mailing to myself just before a maintenance patch, and when I logged back in they were gone. Sent a petition, the GM said "Well, looks like there used to be a A, B, C, D and an E in your inbox. Those the ones you lost?" I replied back 'Yes' and not but a bit later they popped back in, right as rain. Re-claimed them and went on my way.
