Hi all,

First of all, Happy New Year!

Secondly, here's the TT schedule for January.

01/ 3/12 - Champion
01/10/12 - Justice
01/17/12 - Freedom
01/21/12 - Defiant
01/24/12 - Protector
01/31/12 - Pinnacle

Thirdly, this year will bring another string of milestones for Tanker Tuesdays.

This year:

  • TT #90 on Champion (a few months away, but a major event none the less)
  • 3 years of TTJ (Tanker Tuesdays on Justice) Go Justice!!!
  • The 3rd year of the TT Tour!!
  • TTs on Liberty, every two weeks, see the Liberty forums or contact @Tax E for more info
  • Last Trader steps up to be our front man on the Euro servers!

I'd like to thank all the vet Tankers, the core touring group, and server coordinators who help keep the events running (and me on track...), so to all of you a big Nuclear Thanks!!

I'd also like to thank everyone who attends our events! Your attendance allows us to keep the events running and continue the Tour! Keep up the great work everyone, and we'll see ya' soon!

NuclearMedicine a.k.a. @Warboss

You can also join TankHQ (the official channel of the Tanker Tuesdays), or Tankers for more TT event information.

Well TT had it's biggest server coverage ever last year thanks to the poster above me, Rangle, LSK and many other Tank minded on multiple servers.

Your car might let you down, your dog might not get your slippers, but your Tanker will always take a pounding and dish out the pain.

And as we creep up on the next milestone I wonder if any other mmo has ever had a monthly player run event that's bordering on 100 consecutive months let alone one that expanded in it's seventh year.

Though even if one did exist somewhere, TT could beat it up.

See you Tuesday. ;]

I'm a new player and was pointed here by Hyperstrike as an event that I might be interested in once I've gotten my bearings in the game. Given that I've been raiding a lot in WoW (mostly tank and healer), this indeed sounds like something that might be just up my alley.

Can someone explain what this means exactly?

Tanker Tuesday is an event that happens every Tuesday night.
Unlike some events, TT hops from server to server on a weekly basis.

First Tuesday of the month is always Champion

Second Tuesday of the month is always Justice

Third Tuesday of the month flips back and forth between Freedom and Virtue.

Fourth and (if there is one) Fifth Tuesday are pseudeo-random servers.

In addition, there's a mid-day Saturday event at least once a month on one of the former Euro servers.

The meetup point is the wall right next to the Independence Port gate in Kings Row.

Start times for the Tuesday event is 9PM Eastern.
Start time for the Euro-Saturday event is...ooh, brain-farting on this one. Someone else can answer it.

We normally start the evening off by clearing Kings Row of any Paladin GM spawns that happen to be there (good for a couple merits), then break out into teams for various purposes (TFs, mission teams, tip teams, etc)

Essentially it's a great opportunity for a bunch of tanks to get together and beat the living snot out of anything in their way. It helps newer tankers to learn stuff from people who're more experienced. It provides missions where you don't have to worry about "squishies" and can crank up the difficulty a bit without worrying that 3/4ths of the team are going to go *SPLAT* upon entering the mission door.

Congrats on TT's longevity and popularity! It's the longest-running event in COHG/V for sure, one of the major MMOs at this point.

And although it's much smaller, not a public event per se, and not even based in an MMO, I do know of at least one Diablo 2 group that's been meeting weekly since 2002 (that's more than nine years of regularly scheduled mayhem!)

Ultraamann got the night off with his usual smashing of the big clockwork uglies and from there we had two itf teams one of them a moitf try, a tips team and a dfb group, smashing time all around, see y'all next Tuesday on Justice.

Hum my toon seems to be hidden behind one of those big guys. Well I was on the MoITF and I was the lowest lvl tank on team, and i finally face planted on the last mish on it but I was one of the last to do that. Gained 2 lvls, and we had 1 DC. Kanga, and Entern took turns on playing witty for the most part. But we failed it and blamed Rangle like the rules state. Cya folks next Tuesday, Hum what tank should i play.

Thanks for the explanation. I have two more questions:

1) How does this work level wise, what level do you need to be?
2) How does this work for those different servers. Do you need a character on each server or is this in some way cross-server? (I'm on Infinity).

BT is GMT? So that would be 9 p.m. CET?

I am from Europe (The Netherlands), so my guess is that that would be my best bet, as 9 p.m. ET would be 3 a.m. for me.

1st question answer any lvl tank can join in on the fun. 2nd question answer most of us have a tank on every server like I do. BT is British time for the Euro TT not sure of the exact time for u in the Netherlands but I will ask a few friends to help you out on the time for that. Or some one here will.

You could be a grass-green Level 1 tank straight out of the character creator. This will at least get you onto a missions team. However, if you want to get in on a Task Force team, you'll need to be at least minimum level for whatever Task Force is being run:

You can do one of two things.

  1. Create a character on each server (actually a nifty way to try out various different tank primary/secondary combos).
  2. Use server transfers.
I really recommend going the former route. It's MUCH more educational (and cheaper).

Essentially. It's a shame the time difference is that great that players would either need to stay up way late or nap early to partake of TT on a US server night. Hence, why there are the Saturday events at a much more reasonable (for European players) time.

With the patch/update and all we had no Palis for our pre-TT smackdown. We did however end up with 3 teams running and about 24 players/Tanks at the event. Thanks to all who joined us in the event. We'll see you on Freedom next week!

Isn't that an oxymoron?

How does not having to worry about squishies help a new tanker?

Even a lvl 1 tank is not a squishy if played right, not to mention he was talking about the other archetypes that r you know scrappers, blasters, trollers, MMs, doms, fenders you know squishes. Oh ya I blame witty for us having GW as the AV on the bank mish. BAD WITTY VERY BAD WITTY.

Looks like I'll likely be in server patch hell this coming Tuesday. Vet tanks please get the event rolling.

I spoke with TBoxer yesterday, and as mentioned he's got TankHQ up and running on Freedom. Please feel free to give a call out to either him or myself if you see us on and need a SG for your Tanker.

Hi all,

TT tomorrow on Freedom. I'd also like to mention that TBoxer will be our pointman there. Most likely I won't be able to attend this event so, TBoxer and vet Tanks, please go ahead and get things rolling.

If you need an invite to the TankHQ SG on Freedom, send TBoxer a tell and he'll get you into the group.

See ya' next week!

Yes I know and I don't know which tank I want to use. Quantumshock (Elect Armor/Energy Melee), American's Defender (Shield/Mace), or Might Munchkin (Stone/TW). Hmm...sounds like it is time to roll a six-sider to choose.

Current active characters: Dragon Maiden (50+3 Brute SS/WP/PM), Black Widow Maiden (50+1 Night Widow), Catayclasmic Ariel (50 lvl Defender - Kin/DP), Quantumshock (50 lvl Elect/Energy/Energy), American's Defender (38 lvl Tanker - SD/Mace), Spider-Maiden (15 lvl Corruptor - RB/PD) & Siren Shrike (15 lvl Defender - Sonic/Sonic). My entire stable.

If there's enough interest in it, I'll be trying to lead a +4 ITF for Freedom's TT tomorrow night.

In other news, TankHQ is growing nicely. So far we've got the following Tankers: an Electric Armor, a Fiery Aura, a Shield Defense, a Super Reflexes, two Ice Armors, and two Stone Armors. (We just need people with Dark Armor, Invulnerability, and Willpower to complete the set.)

Count another Shield Defense. I guess I'll have to get AD up to 35 for that tomorrow night. I want access to those shields and mace/hammer!

Great! Rashemaar Ranger just dinged 35, so he'll definitely be up for kicking some Cimeroran butt. (Just gotta make sure he's done the Midnighter arc...)
