Lore question.
The Knives are a girls-only group - we haven't been told anything about them on Praetorian Earth, or if they even exist there.

Is the group "Knives of Artemis" all female? Is there no male counterparts? What about Praetoria? I seem to remember Manticores evil twin having a group of ninjas, but can't remember anything about them.

As for Praetorian Earth, that doesn't have a Knives of Artemis or equivalent, not one that is official as such. Chimera, the Praetorian Manticore, does have a secret army of ninja, which in newer content has been slightly retconned into a group of assassins. I suspect you may be able to write your character into that, but you also have to acknowledge that you surrender you will to Chimera. In his story arc in Praetoria, Praetori Sinclair - Chimera - shows himself to be immensely possessive of his subjects, invasively controlling and wholly paranoid as a leader. Serving under him pretty much requires that your character be either blindly loyal or otherwise lacking any will of his or her own.
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

Well, he is supposed to be a deep cover FBSA agent. I suppose I could work in Chimeras group.
Btw, thanks, I could not remember his name to save my freakin life.
Willpower has more passive regen than Regen does. Who thought that was a good idea?
Can we get a fix for Energy Melee instead of more new sets?

They've got a thing for death dealing women-only cults:
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Talons_of_Vengeance
It's not hard to imagine them as a spiritual counterparts to the Knives. Where as the Knives embody the cold, detached, professional side of killing, the Talons are the flip side: passion, murderous hatred and bloodlust.
In other words, the blade versus the talon.
.
Only problem is, it's a male toon.
He's already lvl 37 to and halfway IO'ed.
I found the entry on the KoA in paragonwiki, and this did catch my eye.
The Knives of Artemis is an all-female mercenary group, and has a reputation as one of the deadliest paramilitary groups in the world. The Knives are often seen as an extension of the Malta Group, and are enlisted for high-level security functions, or to engage in surgical strike operations.
I think I can work the Malta angle in there somehow and still have a connection with the KoA.

Could also change the gender to female with the science booster power.

Also, according to their description, there are fewer than 100 Knives of Artemis world-wide.

The same thing kind of applies to the sky raiders.
These are supposed to be limited number organizations and yet they can still pull the same old Zerg Rush (Kekekekeke) tactics as any other group.

I once lost a teammate to being Caltropped to death. It was sad.
"How do you know you are on the side of good?" a Paragon citizen asked him. "How can we even know what is 'good'?"
"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."
I used to fight Knives of Artemis like you until I took a caltrop inna foot.

This has always bugged me. I mean if they're going to say this they could at least have given them a 'teleporting away' defeat animation. But instead we end up fighting more than 100 KoA on the average +0/x1 mission.

Not suppossed to be more than 5000 supers world wide either.

That's just a problem with Lore versus game mechanics.

And as i mentioned, all it would really take to make it a bit more believable is if the KoA had a special "Teleport away" defeat animation.

Officially, the "only 100 Knives of Artemis in the world" angle has been dismissed, as per this quote:
When the Knives of Artemis were first encountered, it was suspected that they were a small group of only 70, or perhaps 100 individuals. Obviously their ranks have expanded since the Rikti War as more broken or disillusioned women were adopted into their ranks and hardened. |

No, 5,000 registered supers in the Paragon City area, according to the Blue King comics.

Be a heck of a lot of fun to RP, if you're into that.
Reasons the Knives of Artemis may accept a male into their ranks:
* Target practice.
* The "Women Are Superior In Part Because None Of Our Internal Organs Are On The Outside Of Our Bodies" groin kick demonstration during basic training.
* Some of the Commanders got to talking to Carnie ladies about the many uses of bucket-heads.
* Killing spiders and lifting of heavy objects.
* Words to strike fear in any man's heart: P.M.S. Counsellor
* Caltrop sharpness tester
* "A male? We can change that..."
My mind wanders so often you've probably seen its picture on milk cartons. - Me... the first person version of the third person Steelclaw
We may want to leave things alone, or somehow the Well of the Furies will get involved in the answer. He's very insecure you know. Always trying to worm his way into any back story he can.

This is a hate-filled remark, you hater, and my having LOL'ed at it has, alas, made me a hater, too. I hate that.

Have you considered a deliberately ill-done female disguise?

Could also change the gender to female with the science booster power.

OP - there's a Rogue Tip Morality mission involving Silent Blade and a group that apparently splintered off the KoA, and this group actually includes males (using the Tsoo models). Maybe you should check that out, it might work for your blade-wielding toon.
SO I am working on a backstory for my neweset scrapper, but there is something I am unsure of.
Is the group "Knives of Artemis" all female? Is there no male counterparts? What about Praetoria? I seem to remember Manticores evil twin having a group of ninjas, but can't remember anything about them.
Had to update the OP. Changing the toon to a female is a definite no-go.

Starting as a grunt and working his way through the ranks, he became a Bane Spider and is directly responsible for the release of Hugo Figure. Since his return from the Rogue Isles he has been very busy infiltrating the Malta Corps and gathering more information on the mysterious Knives of Artemis.
