REALLY wish there were Paragon Points cards
We know it's a highly requested feature, and, as such, we're interested in supporting it. I'm not sure where it is in the pipeline, but I know it's on a list somewhere.

Oh no, you don't! Get back in there!
"I saw my advantage and took it. That's what heroes do." - Homer Simpson.
"I play characters. I have to have a very strong visual appearance, backstory, name, etc. to get involved with a character, otherwise I simply won't play it very long. I'm not an RPer by any stretch of the imagination, but character concept is very important for me."- Back Alley Brawler
I couldn't agree more.
How do the time cards work? Are they charged tax on purchase? Those cards don't give you money to use towards sub time, they are simply worth X days of sub. I'd guess points cards work similar - a points card would not be for $x USD, but rather be worth X PP.

I would hope Paragon Point cards would work the same (or similar) way.

The only game cards I have bought for myself are from another company, and they're $15 for 1500 points. I pay the $15 plus tax then get the 1500 points or a month of game play ($15 subscription fee). So all I pay is less than a dollar in tax that I wouldn't have had to if I just put it on the credit card.

This is essentially the same thing.
So no disrespect intended sir, but "in the pipeline" this is at least three years overdue.
Let me put it this way; I would have purchased and gifted many many of those Super Booster packs to my friends over the years as birthday gifts, Christmas gifts, etc., but I didn't because I was unable to do so.
Which means that Paragon Studios lost out on my money because I couldn't give those packs as gifts to my friends. And now Paragon Studios is losing out on my money because now, three years later, I still can't give City of Heroes in game gifts to my friends.
So does Paragon Studios want my money?
Another way to do this (my preferrred way, I think) is to allow us to change paragon points into an in game point currency and trade them/give them to others.
So really 3 options:
1) create Point cards, or make it so Time cards can be used as Point cards similar to Lineage II
2) make an option to Purchase as Gift in the same way now purchaseable for your own account
3) make an option to in game trade or gift Points
You could do any or all of these. Each would be better or worse for certain applications.
The problem with all of them is the opening for fraud. The indirection potentially permits the creation of fraudulent throwaway accounts to use the fake/stolen credit cards (or to use them in person) and give the resulting item to an account which, though implicated, keeps plausible deniability of wrongdoing. I am guessing that is the real hold up with this feature.
However, it's one that many games have managed to deal with, big games, small games, and every size in between - so - figure out and do it please =D
I would be happy if they took paypal for points.
The Resistance has boobs too, and better hair!
