Celestial pack at the market once new VIP T9 armor is available

Please, just that.
I SO want to have those pieces, specially backparts.
Im still T8 and we cant have those tokens in advance even if we pay for that so this will be cool.

I would like to have them myself, but I want the upcoming Fire & Ice set more, and since the Celestial set takes 3 tokens to get a complete costume set I'm betting the F&I will take at least that many so I think I'll have to save my tokens and hope I have enough to get the full F&I set when it comes out. If the Celestial set was released as a purchasable pack I'd likely buy it that way as long as it wasn't some ridiculous amount like 3600 points.

I wouldn't want the whole T9 costume set made available - I'd like some pieces to remain unavailable (the wings, the aura, the halo back pieces, for example.)

As someone who has the Celestial set, and actually spent a large chunk of cash on points to get the Celestial set as soon as it was available, let me say this:
I totally agree that it should be in the store once it's removed from the t9 VIP spot. I've already had the pack exclusive for some months, and it will be some months more before the new pack displaces it. That's plenty of exclusivity for me. Besides, by the time it's removed from the top spot, there will be a new t9 costume set I can use to display my brand loyalty, if I so desire. And I disagree with VoodooGirl, if they're going to put it in the store, it should be the whole thing. Making it available but keeping the "cool parts" exclusive would rather defeat the point of making it no longer exclusive.

Yes, well the whole purpose of the T9 VIP reward is to reward long term paying subscribers with something unique and exclusive.

To put the whole thing in the store cheapens it. Then why would I, as a VIP subscriber, continue to pay $15 a month when I just go Premium and buy the "exclusive" VIP rewards when they become available?

I do believe the mentioned the whole "Disney Vault" thing - where it will go away and come back sometime later.

Significantly early access to costume pieces is both unique and exclusive.

Things got cheap with time. Like expansions or GR...
Also getting the whole Celestial pack for FREE, and early than the rest is enough reward I think.

Yes, and at any point in time, those VIP subscribers will have something unique and exclusive. Let them languish in the "vault" for a while before they become available to everyone, if necessary. But making only part of the set available still doesn't make the non-t9s happy, especially if one of the pieces they specifically wanted is chosen to remain exclusive (very likely, since you specified the "cool" pieces I most often see used and commented on), yet it also makes the people who cared about the exclusivity unhappy. I have no idea if the latter group is a large segment of the population; I rarely encounter them, but that's not necessarily a representative sample.

Good question. Why would you do that? You can already do it under the current system once you reach t9 - you can subscribe for one month, buy some points for tokens, get the costume set, and let your account lapse again. Since we're both doing it currently, there must be a decent reason.

I'm also 'pro exclusive means getting it first', I hate the idea that I can miss out on content merely by not spending enough money or not being here or around long enough to catch up. I enjoy the Going Rogue style of 'being able to have it before anybody else does' exclusive because it means the ones who don't get there in time merely have to wait, instead of forever be reminded of what could have been.

If that means certain costumes get to be bought with tokens months and months before it ships to the store (at an inflated point cost), then so be it, I will spend those points after the others have flaunted their bling at me knowing that I wasn't shunted to the side by 'exclusivity'.

I'd buy $15 of points to get Celestial if I really wanted it, if it were any more expensive than that I'd be more picky about it.

I have a problem with Paragon Rewards being offered in the Paragon Market, but not for the reason you'd think. I have a problem with this because they swap currencies, and right now there is no way to trade between the two currencies. I'm talking about Paragon Points and Reward Points, as there's no real exchange between them.

The problem is that when I got Celestial Armour, I paid three reward points, but if I had to buy it with Paragon Points, the price will not match up, irrespective of what it actually costs. It creates a conundrum - do I value my Paragon Points more than my Reward Points?

Personally, if the Celestial set needs to be released in some way to all players and not just T9 VIPs, I'd say just open it up via Reward Points, but make it accessible to all tiers of players. Let it still cost three points, just let people who aren't T9 VIPs buy it. That way, it still costs Reward Points, it's still in the Paragon Rewards programme, and the people who didn't have status when this was released are given a shot at it.

I thought the way they should've done it initially was to divorce the bonus items from the tiers so that they would've just been VIP bonus items that one could purchase with tokens if subscribed rather than needing to be tier 9 first. Of course, now that I've spent tokens on things I don't care about having in order to get to tier 9 I'd be slightly annoyed if they did it. (But only slightly, and I wouldn't begrudge anyone else the ability to get it in a more timely fashion because that would be asinine.)

As for the other issue, it already exists with various consumables and the upcoming Super Packs.

If you're T8 you have plenty of time. They've said that a new set will be available while the celestial stuff is still available, and when the THIRD tier 9 exclusive stuff comes out, you'll lose the opportunity to get celestial.

Forever!

I know I will not get the Celestial armor in a normal way, thats why I want to buy it...
If I lose chance, then I have to suck it up. I know that.

You can buy the Celestial Set. You get a reward token for every 1200 paragon points you buy. So if you keep buying points you'll get enough tokens to unlock the Celestial set.

Well, not interested to have 18.000 Paragon points lol
I want the armor but not that badly...

Not quite.

In a uStream chat a few weeks ago (late November? The day they discussed the new Dark Astoria and the "trading card" packs), the devs used the expression "into the Disney vault" to describe where the set would be going once it rotates out of availability*. Meaning it will probably be back at some point, but there's no telling when or for how long. Maybe it'll be back this time next year, maybe two years from now, maybe never.

*which, yes, will be when the yet-to-be-announced third set hits us, so there's still plenty of time.

FUN FACT: That burst of light when you level up is actually the effectiveness escaping from your enhancements all at once.

Really now? Well then I just might be able to eventually get it then. I'm 4 tokens away from filling tier8, so I'll need it to be available or at least 7 more months to buy it all.

That said, even after I have it, I wouldn't be opposed to it being made available to non-VIP9s in some other way.

There would still be a unique and exclusive set in the T9, a different one.

That was just me being funny. I don't seriously believe that the Celestial set is going to go away forever, even if that were the plan, there'd be enough whining between now and the heat-death of the universe to bring it back.

(Because this game will probably last that long)

Long term, huh? So someone who's never played before can't pay a few hundred dollars, in and get enough tokens to get all those rewards, without having even rolled up one character? Cause I'm pretty sure they can.

Which is why the current system is working exactly as intended. New players getting reward tokens thru the purchase of Paragon Points spend the same amount of money the long term vets have spent over the past 84 months.

This system is exactly what new players have been begging for for years because they claimed it was "unfair" that they had to wait for their vet rewards to unlock, and couldn't buy Vet Rewards by simply spending the same amount of money the long time vets did.

The new system is totally fair and unbiased. Everyone that spends the exact same amount of money gets access to the the same rewards. The ones willing to wait can get it eventually thru just their subscription, while the "Gottahaveitnao's" can get it immediately by simply spending the cash.

The system would be fair if you could get the tokens immediately by paying ahead your subscription, but they failed to figure out how to implement that (not for lack of trying, I gather). I mean, right now I could buy enough points to get the three tokens I'd need for Celestial, but that's far more points than I really see myself needing. I already have a surplus from the couple of tokens worth of points I bought to get to Tier 9.

Everyone has the ability to get extra tokens thru the market. People subbing have always had to wait, even when they paid their subs in advance. Nothing has changed since vet rewards were first implemented.

Sure it would have been nice if they had gotten that feature to work because it would have been a cool incentive to add to the discounted sub fees one gets when they pay in advance, but it in no way makes the system of getting vet rewards thru the market unfair.

I think T7 or 8 would be enough to allow us to pay for those costumes T9 get for free...

And the devs disagree since they set it up to be fair to all players.
