Beam Rifle!!!
I officially LOVE Beam Rifle. Disintegrate makes me a happy, happy camper.

But when the time comes to start a new character I'll remember this post!
I personally will not get beam rifle. It didn't appeal to me at all on the beta server. I did get street justice and time (which I'll have to purchase once my account goes premium)
I enjoy my Beamer and I think the playstyle is a bit like Stalker.
Beam rifle is "slow" but each hit is hard and it's particularly good at taking down one hard target.
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
My beam rifle/dark blaster is a monster. I love it to death!

I prefer Beam Rifle on Corruptors since they get more use out of Disintegration. Blasters tend to kill things too fast to get much spread (not a bad thing, obviously, but it does make the set's signature ability less useful) so I prefer to go with other sets on them and save Beam Rifle for ATs that tend to fire more shots per target. It's a great Blaster set if you want to focus on single targets but it needs lots of Disintegration Spreads to pump up its AoE.
Cascade, level 50 Blaster (NRG/NRG since before it was cool)
Mechmeister, level 50 Bots / Traps MM
FAR too many non-50 alts to name

The Scavenger Hunt: 187076
The Instant Lair Delivery Service: 206636
I went Beam Nrg. Standard Hover Blaster range cap build. Its fun but I'm not nuts about it. I enjoy my AR Device more. Maybe because I can do stuff with my AR Device I couldn't do before because lack of build knowledge.
I do agree that on a good team Disintegrate is useless. Things just die way too fast. I do enjoy when I get a Disintegrate off along with a snipe to get a auto spread in a large group, then followed by the cone. Then I can see a bunch of mobs dropping.
I like the look of Overcharge.
Overall its okay set. I think they should have incorporated Disintegrate into the powers themselves instead. This would have made flow much better and not put players in the conundrum of trying to get Disintegrate off or wasting the time to get Disintegrate off just to have mobs killed before it can even take effect. If anything this is useful more in AV type of fights or during BAF or LAM where you get a steady flow of mobs coming in to aid the boss.
For a new player this will be fun and exciting set. For an experience build player ( min/maxer ) the setup process to get Disintegrate going will be annoying.

The only buff I would do for Beam Rifle is to speed up Disintegration activation time a bit. 1.9s is a bit too long IMO considering I need to use it all the time on my Blaster because things just die a bit too fast before spread occurs.
What I've been doing is to start the battle (when I solo) with Aim or Build Up + Piercing Beam. Most of the time I can hit 2 targets and then I quickly finish off with tier 1 and tier 2 and then stun the 3rd.
I used to start the battle with Disintegration and then Lancer but by the time Disintegration ends, I am already taking a lot of alpha damage.

But on a team all that stuff is useless many times because of the build and speed of the team.

I enjoy my Beam Rifle Blaster very much. Granted I have only run her up to 21 at the moment (so many Blaster combinations, so little time). And while it is admittedly slightly slower (at least in feel) like Dual Pistols, it seems to flow better. I find the animations pretty smooth and not too much of a problem working through mobs. Besides, seeing that Disintegrate spread alert and those wonderful damage ticks just fly in the air like deadly butterflies is even more satisfying than seeing Scourge over a Corruptor. There are naturally challenges with the set in a team setting, like your disintegrate anchor getting killed off but hey, those are the breaks. I find it fun. I play it with energy as a secondary because they seemed to mesh well for me in my mind.
High Beam - 50 Blaster Energy/Ice - 1228 Badges
Munitions Mistress - 50 Mercs/Traps
Many Other 50's, Too Many Alts, All On Freedom
Just Because You Can, Doesn't Mean You Should!
Its very fun to see the 'Disintegrate' alerts AND the 'Scourge' alerts from my Corruptor!
Rockshock (Druid Tanker), Medicat (Combat Medic), Dwarf From the North (Ice Mage), Rocket Gal (Energy Blaster), Graveborn (Undead Mastermind), Streeker (Punching Speedster), Op. Sidewinder (Recluse's pet Spider)
I play mostly Stalker and Ninja Mastermind. I know a thing or two about burst damage.
Trust me, Blaster's Beam Rifle does a ton of burst damage. I like Beam Blaster. I just don't like my secondary /Fire.
When I run signature story arcs to get purple merits, my Beam blaster kills the elite boss the fastest of all the toon I have at lvl 30.
Yes, Blaster doesn't cause Disintegration as much 'cause things tend to die faster. This means you need to always target a LT or a boss. The good news is Blaster has Build Up. Overcharge's damage with Aim + Build Up is ridiculous. It feels like a true nuke but without the crash.
