Bad parts in Costume Creator..?

So I'm trying to change my characters costume, and it won't change at all. I saved the costume I wanted so I could try it again later. When I went to load the costume it says "Failed to load: Bad costume parts (null) detected."

It only happens on one character, but it happens on all of her costumes. Even when I try to change just one part of the costume, it won't stick.

Don't know if anyone else has encountered this.

If it helps, the character is a Hero-to-Villain level 50 Radiation Emission/Archery Defender.

Already tried changing her weapon to get around this bug but the change still won't stick.

This didn't happen to her before I21.

happens to me on almost every costume on every character that has customizable weaponry, including the mace which was respec'd out. The only workaround I have found so far is to save the costume once rebuilt.

Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.

She does have Mace Mastery, but after finding out that it got messed up, I changed the mace she had and everything was fine.

QFT. For some reason, the Costume Creator never properly saves the info for the first weapon on many weapon sets. On characters with two weapons, like Dual Blades or Dual Pistols, the second weapon DOES save correctly, oddly enough.

Well if I didn't change the weapon, shouldn't it still stick?

The weapon will stick correctly when applied to a costume slot, it just won't load properly when retrieved from a save file. You can fix the costume when you load it, and then readjust your weapon no problem.

IIRC, there was also recently a problem specifically with Mace Mastery weapons. I think (?) that patch fix is Live now, but you might want to double-check.

I know about Mace Mastery. They fixed it. Then I heard that weapon based characters couldn't change their costumes, but then they fixed that.

I tried changing the weapon and the costume while in the creator and it still didn't work. That's when I opted to save it and try later. So far I still can't make it work.

Beyond my area of expertise, lamentably If I were you, I'd put in a Support ticket for that character.

Just had this exact problem. I've changed a lot of costumes today and his was the first that wouldn't change (no charge, no error, no change). He has mace mastery and a weapon. I wonder if that has to do with it.

I sent in a support ticket.

According to the Known Issues page here, it is indeed Mace Mastery that's responsible for this tailor problem.

Is there any reason why you cant access trench coats anymore? I have the appropiate vet reward for it.

Trench coats are exclusive to other Back Options like capes, wings, or backpacks. Make sure any other back options are NOT in use, and then you should be able to select Trench Coats from the Upper Torso section again.

Mace Mastery Costume Changes
Characters obtaining the mace mastery epic pool power should obtain the default mace in all of their costumes after selecting the power.
This should no longer cause the inability to tailor a costume after picking this power.
Still can't change anything , can't take any effect . I am a Mercenarues / Traps / Scorpion MM .

If change costumes can't take any effects , how can I obtain the default mace ?

Not sure if this will work or not, but if your second or third build is empty (i.e. you haven't used it), try switching to that one first before editing costume. Since it's technically 'level 1' as a result of never visiting trainers, it should mean Mace Mastery isn't selected and as such, you should be able to edit costume... maybe.

Once you're done, if the costume changes stick, just change your build back to your normal one.

I have no idea if this works or not, haha.

This did work! Thanks!

hopefully they fix this problem soon. I just had a bear of a time trying to figure out why I couldn't change costumes on my MM and I asked on help, got none, submitted a bug report, got nothing. I found this thread and was like hey, "my MM has mace mastery too..." So now I'm going to try switching builds. Horrible bug.
