What's the best way to ask the Devs for a bug fix issue?
Quote:
As I said before, you don't even BEGIN to be qualified to tell them how to allocate your resources until you know how they're allocated. For all you or any of us know, they already have the most people that can be put on bug-squishing without losing effectiveness. Even once you do know, you have a long way to go before you're TRULY qualified. Even then, it's still not your PLACE to do so.
Just because you miss the point doesn't mean it's not there.
Just because I am good house keeper doesn't mean that I don't "straighten up a little" before special company comes over. The same with the bugs. Just because they keep house [fix bugs regularly] doesn't mean that it is somehow impossible to "straighten up a little" [temporarily adjust the priority of bug fixing] before special company comes over. |

Anymore than it's you place to say that they can't.

No, but you've made it clear that YOU are not satisfied with their performance.
I am aware that they are working on bugs. I have not made any comment to the effect that they are not doing so.

Fine. We get it. At this point, you're posts are just sounding like whining.

And, to be honest, I am not trying to tell them anything, it's about requesting.

Opening this thread is entirely voluntary and optional on your part.
Didn't say that. Just said that there's a limit and we don't know that they're not already there.
In requesting, you're making the assumption that they're not already doing all they reasonably can.

Yes, it is. And since you have posted in a public forum, anyone and everyone (who plays the game) is welcome to post and offer their opinion.

I got bugs reported back in 2005, they never have been fixed. That presumable because its more EU related, and we all known how devs clearly think about EU players (or any non-US players for that matter).

What bugs are these, out of curiosity? It's hard to come up with anything EU specific, since both versions ran the same code...

And don't forget that they now officially hate Stalkers, also.

Maybe I should pick out bug and have that one be my pet bug.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a good pet bug?
Atm, I am leaning toward typos and misspellings, but I am open to suggestions.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

So, what is the best way to communicate this desire to the devs? |
Ask about it during the Q&A session.
Then they can tell you that it isn't going to happen.
Just as they told people that asked at the first HeroCon.
Just as they told people that asked at the second HeroCon.
Just as they told people at the Bay Area M&G last year.
And as they've likely told people at other M&G's they've attended.
But you'll have been able to ask the Devs directly and receive an answer directly from the Devs.

I'd hate 'em too if I were a dev. You buff 'em just a hair, they quickly become overpowered. You nerf them just a hair, they quickly become wusses.

So two hairs is the only difference between stalkers being overpowered or wusses?

However, even if they created a "Bug fixing issue," having nothing else come out for six months beforehand - the next patch, the next issue would just introduce others, possibly bringing some "fixed" ones back.
We've had a lot of "cooks" in the COH "stew," some of them didn't document things very well (if at all,) going from some dev comments. Doing a massive bug fix would pretty well require rewriting from scratch to hunt down some of them and make sure of what's affecting what.
