Lvl 53 SO's - what do you do with them?

Hi Guys,

not a marketeer so apologies if any of this is stupid and/or naive.

Running a lot of itrials and getting loads of 53 SO drops.

I usually just hit the guy in RWZ and sell them off.

But now we have a lot of players not on VIP acounts and so not running trials. Would they benefit from the 53's?

Are they being offered on the market and if so are they moving? Is there a demand at all?

I really don't need the cash I get from them and wondered what use they are to others.

Thanks

f2p can't use the market anyways. Just sell them.

I sell them like the vendor trash they are.

I duck into a store and dump them. They pay more there than they ever will in the market anyway.

It's a dismal prognosis, but unfortunately, it's as true as it can get. Complicating factors include:

F2P'rs can't hand-trade, so you can't even dump them on unsuspecting teamates.
F2P'rs can't use the auction house, so you can't even post them in the vain hope that they'll move.

The odd person here or there will probably dump enough money in the game to unlock trading, but it's not likely they'll get far enough progressed to unlock the auction house, which requires 105 dollars spent on the game.

Perhaps at a later date, when we see more Premiums who've invested more heavily, there may be a market for those premiums trapped between Tier 4 and Tier 7, but for now, I'd say it looks bleak.

At least I can carry on without feeling bad about perhaps wasting a resource.

It's funny how things change - next to Hami-O's there was a time when the lvl 53 SOs were effectively the most valuable enhancements in the game.

I'm still using those 53 SOs on my newest 50. I haven't really focused too much on a build for him yet, and now that he's got +1 from Alpha, he's not under performing with SOs that noticeably.

Main Hero: Chad Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1396 Badges
Main Villain: Evil Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1193 Badges

I have a 2nd account that will have to go premium for a while.

I am respecing and stripping off the IO's that will cease to function and have put a couple of bins in my personal base to stockpile those I-trial 53's for use by the few gimped toons I'll want to keep active. For the two alts with massive full IO set builds I'll do a 2nd build with SO's and maybe a Hami here and there.

Just a thought,

Jak

Really, All you needed were 51's for the SO's, since you could ++ them with store bought enhancements. I remember cherishing every 51 and 52 drop, almost more so than the 53's, since those tended to be AV drops and constrained to the power-10 enhancements.

I remember running the KHTF because of the 10 high level Enhancement drops from Mary.

technically a market license only costs $2 a month, it would take $105 to get a permanent market license, but thats not really necessary

same can be said for the IO license, $2 a month or they could just dump out like $400 to have it permanently

Free market usage is a lot lower grade than free io usage.
A lot of older players coming back as premium can buy from the market but not use IOs.

I know if I drop down to premium, I have access to market but not to inventions.

I see these becoming valuable to a greater extent than they are, but probably not anywhere near the extent that its worth taking a lot of time to sell them. But its probably worth tossing an invention bench in the superbase and storing them for potential new SG members in this situation.

I think most if not all F2P players that hit 50 are going to at least be premium with a purchase or two over the levels, meaning the lack of trading wont be too relevent with these also.
