Underground Trial

Ran it with my wife tonight for the 1st time ever. We went very slow as the leader explained everything to us and apparently the leader was trying for a badge. We were successful and the environment was beautiful but...

...I was somehow stuck with Desdemona and I am a scrapper, and was ordered to stay back to keep her alive during the entire trial. The end result is that I got stuck with Threads or Super Inspirations as a choice.

I was told it was due to a bug but I doubt it. Initially I was beating up everything and at some point I think she was following someone that died and I got her glued to me.

In any case, the trial took longer than the one and only Keyes trial I was lucky enough to be a part of, and I hardly got to do anything, because I was told if I didn't I could be the cause of the entire league failing, and when I did what I was told, I was stuck with Threads.

...at any case, yes it is nice to get 2 Empyreans for my trouble but it was not a good first impression. I loved the ending movie though, that was pretty cool.

For the most part, Desdemona doesn't require so much babysitting as to leave her out of the fights entirely. As long as people stick together you should have no trouble keeping her alive through the fights.

Also, Self Destruct functions beautifully as Desdemona repellant if you happen to be so inclined.

During the final part, she wouldn't follow me and she was halfway dead in seconds. I have the pack with the Self Destruct but not everyone does.

Ya, this happens to me quite often since I'm one of the first to spawn after the Trial starts.

Most recent it happened on my SS/Ela/Mu Brute...the one made for AoE carnage. I was beyond annoyed on that character (+1 level). However, on other characters that were native 50 (no alpha slotted yet) and were a bit squishy I did not mind sitting out most of the time. It also give the ability to see the trial and gain a better understanding. It's a Gift and a Curse really.

If one does not have Self Destruction, it's quite easy to drop all shields and rush into a +4 spawn and die. Dez is an EB MM and one spawn won't kill her.

It does make more sense for a Defender to pick her up who can help keep her alive and still be active at range.

Every time she has ever been stock to me, I turn off all my toggles and eat dirt. I log in to play, not babysit.

The only time I've really seen people be told to keep Des back is during the Regenerating/Lichen War-Walker fight since she we will Leeroy the frack outta that thing, making it extra difficult in the second phase to pull it to a spot where there are fewer Lichens to worry about. As a level 54 AV, she's pretty sturdy when she's not left to fight alone.

Of course, removing her pointless, pantsless behind from the trial would solve everything.

I hate "playing it safe" to such a degree that you basically take a player out of the trial. If you're on a buff heavy team, their really isn't a need to play like that...on a not so buff heavy team...it's not hard to eyeball the health bar since it's on everybody's screen...
