Signature story arc timer

Hello,

Beyond making a note of it somewhere on my own, is anyone aware of a means to track when a particular character has their reward timer for the SSAs reset? I'm ideally looking for something in game, similar to how you get countdown to justice when you confirm your hero alignment.

Thanks!

Well, you can always use one of the methods that people used to use to track what Praetorians they had defeated before Null the Gull came along. You can use the playernote function to write a note on YOURSELF. Since it's your note, no one else can see it.

I know its "7 days" BUT does that mean if I run the arc on Monday at noon and get a villain merit and again on... lets say noon Wednesday for an astral merit - will I be able to get another villain merit the next monday at 12:01? or do i have to wait a week from when I LAST ran it?

And for that matter WHY ISN'T THERE A TIMER BUILT IN???? I have 20 lvl 50s, its too much to keep track of who ran what when.

It doesn't matter when you last ran it, only when you last took a particular reward. You can run it as often as you want, but if you take the AM reward, you can't take that particular reward for a week. So in your example, you would be able to get another VM on Monday and then another astral on Wednesday.

Then I can't figure out why my main is not eligible for Villain merits. I ran sig arc pt 2 on the day it came out (Tuesday Oct11th) - but for some reason I STILL unable to claim a villain merit. I should have been able to claim vmerit as of Tuesday - but as of today - still not eligible???

This is with my main - who HAS recently completed a villain morality mish.

I read that with update they made it so you need to have run tips and a MM before u can claim a vmerit... Toon in question HAS run tips and MM since he got a vmerit last week, but NOT since the update came out. Hopefully that is the problem - gonna run tips again. Let u know if it makes a difference.

Are you suggesting that every character will need to rerun a morality mission and confirm their hero/villain status to get the A Merit option even if they've already confirmed in the past?

Maybe. If the MOST RECENT morality mission was to confirm their hero/villain status, then they are fine. That's the requirement. If they confirmed hero/villain status at 'some point in the past', but changed alignment since then, they're out of luck.

Just looking for SOMETHING to explain why my main (who is and has always been a villain - and has been running villain tips and villain MM since they were introduced) is still ineligible to take a vmerit - even though I last claimed a vmerit when i ran sig arc pt 2 when it was introduced on Tuesday Oct 11.

Only possible explanations I can think of are...

1. Toons must have run a MM AFTER the recent update that added the requirement to have run a MM to confirm alignment?

OR

2. Toons MUST have run a MM SINCE they last claimed a vmerit from sig arc before they can claim another - even if it has been more than 7 days?

can anyone confirm either option or have tested and found the answer?

3. I've seen multiple posts from people who say it has not been consistent between one character and the next, suggesting there's a bug.

I have several toons who had previously confirmed their hero or villain alignment, but I have not run the SSA with them since the patch as I have been busy running alignment missions on OTHER toons that never confirmed.

I've since heard on the grapevine that we CANNOT claim vmerits for sig arc 1 AND sig arc 2 in same week. Supposedly the fact that we could do so week one of sig arc 2 was a bug/glitch that the update "fixed."

If true, SO LAME. I think as VIP Players we should be able to run all the arcs once a week for vmerit rewards.

All parts of the arc are on the same timer, so you can only get credit for one part per week per reward. However, the very first time you run any part of an SSA arc will always allow reward selection. Many players were able to get 3 alignment merits in a single week by running Part 1 for the first time, Part 2 for the first time and then either one again (but not both) for the timed reward table.

I don't think anything was changed. All the SSA's were always on the same timer. Also, you were always able to run each arc once 'for free' (i.e. not counting against the timer). This was confirmed by Positron was 'working as intended'.

BTW, I have now run the SSA on several characters who confirmed alignment months ago and some who confirmed in the past couple of days. Everyone so far has gotten their Alignment Merit.

from whats been said it was adressed as a bug but that is a change since i ran the first part of the arc several times and then when part 2 came out ran them both and was still getting astral merit and hero merit for each

the change syncing the timers for them all wouldnt bother me if it was a 24 hr timer then when the 7 part arc is done you could run 1 a day but 7 missions with a maximum of 4 rewards per week? seems like we get short changed a little

My response that you quoted was talking about the timer. Now, you are talking about ELIGIBILITY to earn A-Merits. That WAS changed. When the SSA's first came out, any hero or villain could earn A-Merits. Then it was changed so that you had to CONFIRM your hero or villain status in order to earn A-Merits.

This is because people would create a new toon, level it to 10, get the A-Merits, spend them, delete the toon and repeat. To do something similar now, you have to get to 20 in order to have access to tip missions, then spend 2 days confirming your alignment.

There was no change to the timer.
Each arc gives you ONE free run (per character) that does not trigger the timer. After that, all of the arcs use the same one-week timer. As for being short-changed, well, that's your opinion. But it was ALWAYS that way.

Also keep in mind, that one-week timer is PER CHARACTER. I have over 15 characters that have confirmed their alignment and can earn A-Merts.

This is a bit ambiguous, so I'm not quite sure what you meant to say.

My Widow ran SSA 1 thru SSA 3 last night for the first time and she was able
to select an A-Merit for each arc.

She then re-ran SSA 1 again and was able to claim a 4th A-Merit.

So, from that context, what you said is not true.

However, going forward (now that she has claimed the "free merit" from each
of the 3 arcs), she would only be able to receive a single A-merit each week
regardless of which SSA(s) she runs.

In this context, your point is true - you can only get 1 A-merit / week from SSA arcs.

The basic process is this:

1> Confirm your Alignment (if necessary)
2> Receive 1 A-Merit for each "First Time" run of an SSA arc.
3> Receive 1 A-Merit per week (total) for running any/all SSA arcs.

After last night's SSA runs, my widow can only get 1 A-Merit per week from the
SSA's now until new SSA's are released.

The week they release SSA 4, I'd be able to run that and get 1 A-Merit for
the new arc, and also 1 A-Merit for any additional run of an SSA arc that week.

The other point Ironblade mentioned is early on, there was some weirdness
(bug?) with *some* characters regarding their Alignment.

What I have personally seen on my own toons is this: If they have the Morality
Power (Hero / Villlain ... NOT Rogue / Vigilante) they're ok, and will be eligible
to select an A-Merit. I have several toons who did this (though some haven't
run tips is a LONG time -- though they were a "confirmed" Hero or Villain).

If they don't have that power, then they need to run tips/Morality mission before
being able to claim the A-Merit from SSA's. The widow mentioned above had
to do this, as she'd never run a morality mission (although, she's always be a
villain).

Hope that clears up any confusion.

4

PS> Kudos Devs! SSA 3 from the Villain side was awesome! For the FIRST time
since CoV came out, one of my villains actually *felt* villainous -- Finally! GJ!
