Best DPS on ST?
There is another thread taking a deep dive at this, focused on scrapper numbers but some good info to apply to tankers.
EDIT: that thread is for Street Justice which is what I initially read the ST (single target) as, rather than StJ.
For scrappers StJ is looking at being a top end option, and that may translate similarly to Tanks.
FA/SS/Soul is most likely the highest ST DPS combo for tankers, using Jab - Burn - Gloom - KO Blow - Haymaker - Gloom.
I would guess MA wouldn't do too good, seeing as the best DPA attack, Storm Kick, was reduced in damage, in order to give a defense buff instead. Assuming I understood correctly, anyway ; haven't tried the set on tankers myself.
I'm not one for serious number-crunching or powergaming in CoH, but I really like the looks of SJ, and will definitely try one at some point (working on a brute right now). Plusses for SJ:
Quick, high DPA builders (the finishers aren't exactly sluggish for that matter).
Combo building makes your T1 that much more appealing (applying bruised while building CP).
Groin Shot, err, Rib Cracker for -res.
Shin Breaker can take the Achilles Heel proc.
Schmexy Crushing Uppercut.
Having said all that, the sad fact is that stacking rage probably still means this conversation is pretty much moot.
MA used to be the ST scrapper damage king. It's very appealing for Tankers because of the defense from Storm Kick. I have a Shield/MA Tanker that is enjoyable. I would pair MA with a set which is based on positional defense, as the extra 10% from Storm Kick would be most helpful there. For instance, my Shield tank most likely won't need IO bonuses to softcap (haven't done the math yet, he's level 15).
Street Justice has great ST damage from what I know of. However, MA shouldn't be far behind and the defense bonus may make it worth picking over StJ.

I already know I can soft cap it to at least S/L/E/N, and maybe F/C if I get creative enough with my slotting, and Street Justice appears, on paper at least, to be one of the better sets for taking out AVs and such (potential for 70% -res, 30% guaranteed). I also believe I can cap Psi resistance, or at least come close to it, on the same build. Should be a pretty beastly combo if my build-fu is strong enough.
Unfortunately, I'm already playing a character with the name I'd use, and I refuse to re-roll him yet again, so my DA/StJ project will be on hold until I figure out a good name for it.

SD/DM/Soul should be right up there, too. Not sure if it would exceed an FA/SS/Soul but it's sturdier.
MA is extremely good on surviveability for tanks since storm kick (tier 2 attack) adds +10% def to all but psi for 10 sec when it hits (this def buff cannot be enhanced and does not stack but is perma out of the box)
eagles claw for tanks adds 33% dmg bonus for 5 sec after it hits
the big thing though is storm kicks defense buff, which can very easily softcap shield

Rage adds 80% damage, double stacked is 160% for a total of 360% damage. (Including the enhancement of the powers)
Street Justice gets a damage bonus on it's finishers, not sure about the total percentage.
It also has Combat Readiness, which will automatically put you at level 3 PLUS add another 50% damage on top of that. Not always available, but nice when it is.
Then there is Street Justice's ability to potentially stack up to 70% -res on a single target, effectively adding 70% damage to your attacks if both procs trigger at once (which will happen occasionally. 20% from Bruising, 10% from Rib Cracker, which is an automatic 30%. Then you have an Achille's proc and a FotG proc that you can slot. Running an attack chain of Initial Strike->Shin Breaker->Rib Cracker->Sweeping Cross can potentially keep quite a bit of debuff stacked on a single target.
So, 100% from the power, another 100% from slotting, 50% from Combat Readiness, and 70% from -res debuffs. That's 320% damage that will occur occasionally, plus whatever the percentage added to finishers at level 3 is.
SS will be more consistently damaging, but Street Justice has the potential to hit just as hard in short bursts, assuming the random number generator smiles on you. Plus Street Justice is much faster, so the DPS will probably be at least competitive.
Add Street Justice to Shield Defense and you will have a very potent combo for single target damage.

I'm tempted to try FA/SJ. Bruising + Rib Cracker + Achilles proc + Combat Readiness + Fiery Embrace + Crushing Uppercut = goodnight Irene. Bit of a late bloomer though, and with my altitis I might never get all the way.
You can put the Achillies proc in rib cracker? Doesn't say so in Mids...
So you can, and I just did!

Oh how I wish I could get back "Invictus" on Infinity!(weeps)
Trying to do a search but using my phone and not having much luck.
With the latest changes and new powers has anyone checked to see
what order the powers fall in as far as ST DPS is concerned? Really
interested to see where MA falls in the line up. Would also like to know
the best attack chains for the top rated sets if anyone has them. If that
to much time to figure, could someone tell me the formula and how to go
about figuring it up? I don't mind doing it myself just not sure how.
Thanks!!!
