lowest cash outlay to get broadcast?
Broadcast requires 8 reward tokens. You get 1 for account creation. So you'd need 7 tokens. Going solely by points you would need to buy $90 worth of points to get 6 + the bonus token for your first point buy. Or subscribe for 6 months and buy $5 worth of points.
Another option you may want to look at is buying all the boxed sets as cheap as you could online.
For info on the reward systems look here:

I've been trying to encourage f2players to go premium in order to get access to better stuff, using 'One-time purchase of just 5$ gets you Premium forever!', which strikes me as a pretty good deal.
I'm quite confused by the paragonwiki pages for Rewards and Premium players, however. What does a F2Player who spends 5$ get? Which tier does he start as at premium. I thought Tier 2. How much is the minimum outlay to get access to broadcast? |

Tells, supergroups, and mail are part of tier 2 which requires 2 tokens (which can be had for a single $5 purchase of points, since all accounts start at tier 1 with 1 token).
Broadcast and global chat channels are part of tier 3, which requires 5 tokens.
Edit: Ninja'd by Justice Blues. But only because I went to get screenshots. >,>
It's describing everything in tokens which is so confusing IMO.
Can you just buy tokens? or do you have to spend money on other things, and the tokens awarded are a by-product?

EDIT Not you guys being confusing, I meant the system.

If you're just looking to pile up enough tokens for full chat access and don't care about the VIP perks, the most efficient way is probably to just buy the $15 points package 3 times.
Right., so I'll tell the f2players that $5 gets them tells, trade, email and into SGs, and $45 gets them broadcast and globals. That's simple enough

I created a free account, logged in, and after choosing a server I clicked the Paragon Rewards icon. Current VIPs can't view the Premium rewards they've unlocked because there's not enough room in the UI for all that information. (So to see your Premium rewards you need to look it up on ParagonWiki or on a free account, like I did, or just wait to drop to Premium at which time your UI will show Premium unlocks instead of VIP.)
Your first purchase of points, regardless of the number of points, awards 1 token. So you could buy $5 of points and you'll get a token if it's your first purchase ever. This does not cost points to claim or anything, it's like a "thanks for shopping" reward. So a by-product, not a direct purchase.
Each purchase of 1200 points ($15) awards 1 token. So if you have never purchased points before and you spend $15 on points you will get 2 tokens. The 1200 points does NOT include bonus points from subscription (edit/fix: but does count bonus points from large points bundles?). These are kind of like... frequent flyer miles?
Also, all accounts (even free accounts) start with 1 token prior to spending any money.
So yes, $5 gets them tells, email, trade, and supergroups.

Tokens are kinda like milestone counters - every 15 bucks you spend on points for the Market (the ingame cash shop) earns a token, and every month you stay subscribed as a VIP earns a token.

So the most efficient way to work your way up to filling Tier 3 would be buying the $50 Point package, because it gives you an extra 600 Points toward your next Token.

[...] This is partially incorrect. The 400 Point from our subscriptions do not count, but the bonus points from large purchases do. That is why you get 8 Tokens for purchasing the $100 Point package. If only the non-bonus points counted, you would only get 6 Tokens.

Because even Positron wasn't sure, when he was asked, IIRC.
Edit: Also, if a free player lays out $5 (getting them to Tier 2) and then later on eventually gets $40 worth of points, would that count as 3 more tokens (having spent $45 on points, total)?

And while I don't think it's been confirmed if adding a box gives you a token for the month of VIP, the first box on an account awards a bonus token. And you can frequently find an old retail box for less than $15 shipped ( so it would give 1 token, possibly 2 to new accounts), especially if you have something like a big lots nearby

Adding THE FIRST BOX to a new account would grant two tokens: 1 for having a retail code, and 1 for having one month of VIP time. (This will mean this new player would have 3 tokens total, since every account starts with 1 token.)
