Vip pvp?!?

I was curious if there was any interest in building the PVP community on this server. There doesn't seem to be much action in RV or Arena here but if there are people who are interested I would be more than willing to form/plan pvp events, help start ladder for team based pvp, and also form dedicated pvp sg's for both red and blue side. I know the server is new but pvp is a big part of my gaming experience so if there are any others who would like to see pvp start on Exalted respond to this post..

Any chance we could get some Boot Camp up in here for us people who are old hands at PvE and new at PvP.
I have been interested in PvP but, frankly the differences make it a little, frustrating to learn.

Sure!! Thats a great idea. I wouldn't have a problem showing the basics in fact maybe a boot camp event just may be the best way of starting up Pvp on our server. It would be interesting to see if i could change the opinion about "PVPrs" to PVErs and gather more interest that way. It is a challenge but i up for it.

I'm willing to help on getting something going.

All the current pvp seems to be on Freedom. They just started their current round over this past weekend. @masque also holds boot camps every couple months. Myself and @ Mah thru CAPE hosted a "basic training" pvp league for 6 weeks then we followed it up with a league that also last 6 weeks.

While i suck at pvp id be happy to assist where and however.

I know that freedom is the official server for pvp, but that doesn't mean that each server cant have its own pvp community. If people wanna go to The Freedom Leagues that fine, but what I'm proposing is that we build our own pvp population up on Exalted. Pvp doesn't have to be about drama. Sure there is a degree of competitiveness and through that can bring out animosity between people. Main reason I would like a to have a Guild of pvpers on both red side and blue side is not only to boost the population but also unionize the players into 1 large faction. Where in as a group we could (take over the world) form kickball's, boot camps and other events. Of course there will be griefers but if the majority of the pvp community was unionized then those few people should be easily extinguish by the masses.

Ok the pvp sg for the red side is up and running so if you have any villains that you want for pvp send me a tell in game and ill get you invited. *toons dont have to be lvl 50 to get invited they just have to be pvp toons in the making.

I am game and it sounds like fun. I like the idea of a boot camp and we can start off small and working our way up. I have been out of PvP for almost a year and it is time to get back into it.

What I would like to do is run some sort of PvP ladder matches.

You all start out as equal and after fighting the first round of a pool tournament get placed into brackets.

The brackets would be:

Open (take all challengers)
Advanced (have a win percentage over 50% or so)
Novice (you either just do it for fun or don't want to play a hardcore game)

The initial tournament would be in pools of 7.

You fight each person in your pool and then the top 3 move to the Advanced ranking. You can move back down to Novice or not advance if you wish as well.

Then you setup a challenge system where you can challenge those in your rank. You can advance if you want by winning these challenges.

This is for solo.

For teams - a team of 5 (one ringer or sub allowed) an overall roster of 10 players allowed. Changes can be made with 24 hour notice to your opponents.

A team can be any mix of characters.

I would fight this as a straight pool tourney as outlined above.
I used to fight on the CAL league in Halflife TFC and SoF2 (Soldier of Fortune 2) and this is how we ran the tournaments so everyone got a minimum of 6 fights. You might be eliminated but you got your 6 fights anyways!

Is the PvP going to be a team or 1vs1? I say we start off on a 1vs1 and see how that goes. I do think we should do 2 different ladders. One for melee and the other one will be for everything else. We can call it Melee Mondays and Fire Power Fridays...lol At the end of the season the winner of the two ladders will duel for the final rank as best over all.

This is just an idea....

Where would masterminds be set? melee, range.... other lol!
