So, they have finally learned what hot dog manufacturers and hot dog bun makers have known all along.

EDIT: Curses, I should have read through the rest of the thread. I must go into hiding and change my name to Jeff.

Depending on where you go and what brand you get, here you can find the hot dogs in packs of 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, or 16. There may be more, I'm not sure. For the buns, I've only seen 8, 10, and (at Sam's Club), 24.

One could only assume that if there was some wonderful feature out there that you "really, really wanted" and had been waiting for over 7 years to get that you could see yourself spending $8-10 for it. It just so happens that for some people that feature was the extra costume slots.
Since we can save costumes and load them as a whole and since tailor tokens grow on trees, even if I did have more than 5 costume ideas I only need the one slot that I wear at a time to have many costumes.

Of course, I don't. But I could. I think I have one toon with all five slots opened. All five costumes look pretty much the same but the hair is different.

I played conservatively with my points earlier this week until I found that the costume slots were going to be off-sale in a few days, considering I do like making different costumes for all my characters. I went for it! Even with my incoming stipend it won't allow me to purchase something like a powerset, though it could afford me a costume set bundle.

But I figured, not only is the costume slot account-wide and forever, it also gives me a benefit I never had before. Two costumes at level one! It means if I make a new character in the future, I'll have both a supersuit and a civilian identity all ready by LV2. By purchasing that slot, by the time I reach Lv40 and complete the last tailor mission, I'll have the original 5 costume's worth of room to switch to without having to go Vigilante/Rogue to complete other side's tailor missions or trading in Halloween salvage!

Those 600 P-Points served me well *salute*

Well for the record there was several years there where we didn't even have the costume save/load feature.
Swapping out costumes before that was a mini-nightmare.

But even with the save/load feature I was still wasting a lot of time going to the tailors swapping out costumes when I only had 5 slots available. Having 10 slots has now significantly reduced the time and frustration I spent on this. This among other reasons allowed me to justify getting the extra slots.

As always everyone's mileage will vary on this. For you it doesn't sound like extra costume slots would have been that useful to you even if they were free.

Thanks to the way it works I can now easily let my brand new characters have up to SEVEN loaded costumes (1 default + 5 extra + 1 Halloween). That's a very cool extra benefit that I think some people aren't considering about this deal.
