Problems with the Barbarian Costumes for females
Second, that Barbarian top with skin is awesome, but it comes with a REALLY muscular texture for the model's chest, arms, neck and waist.
|
About the only problem I have the Barbarian set is that all of the chest pieces come down to below the solar plexus and cover up the abs. What's the point of using a muscular texture for the top if I will then cover up the abs?

Don't forget the complete lack of gloves.
'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.
In fact, the Barbarian set was the perfect opportunity to give women bigger, more muscular arms in Robotic Arms, and give men EVEN BIGGER, more freakishly muscular arms for theirs, since the male arms are already way, way big. Hell, if I had a working pigg diver and a road map, I could probably graft Foreshadow's arms on an existing female model, but I don't want to risk getting myself banned with this. Suffice it to say I'm pretty sure it's doable. Well doable, in fact.

Aside from the missing gloves, my main problem is that the barbarian top is available with sleeveless jackets but not with sleeved jackets.
I was trying to get a combination of Victorian short jacket, magic fur, and barbarian steel bikini top... but right now it's not possible. Barbarian top only works with sleeveless jackets, magic fur for shoulders only works with the jackets with sleeves.
I hope they fix that... the magic fur + Victorian jacket makes a nice kind of barbarianesque top that would work well with the steel bikini, I think. ^_^

I don't even have the option to add the barbarian pieces to the sleeveless jacket in the costume creator. I've got a ton of CC bugs right now, I don't have the option to use the Magic Bolero unless I select Witch from the costume sets first, if I don't Magic Bolero will not show up as an option on Upper Body. Same with trenchcoats.
We need muscular arms and legs before Titan Weapons hit!
This is a priority one!

I would like to see the chest details be useable with trenchcoats/jackets in general, like the Victorian chest pieces do.

edit: I really mean that they do not show up as options, not that I can't because of clipping or some other reason.

All my characters
Yeah, you're lucky you have what you have. I can't use any of the barbarian stuff with any jackets.

I can understand why the corsett tops under chest details might not be allowed due to clipping issues... though that doesn't seem to be a problem with the Victorian corsette thing, but it was specifically designed for the Victorian coat options... but there should be no reason that the barbarian top can't be used, it's not a physical 3D object just a texture map on the skin.

I loved the muscular texture and chest texture of the barbarian bikini.
Its awesome!
If we could only have at least 1 ring chest strap and the gloves...
I been waiting for the devs to add a tight version to wristbands and bracers for female, and now they add new ones, they left females out of the new bracers with skin and with tights?? I dont get it.
I know females got tons of corsets but please, those new bracers are so awesome!
The barbarian top I'm talking about is the chainmail bikini top found under tops with skins.

I didn't try it with any of the other jackets. I hope its just a mix up with getting these corsets propagated to all the proper categories in the costume creator.
While we are on this topic, but for males;
They get a coolish fur loinclothy/kilty/shorts thing
This categories under tights for some inexplicably bizare reason, meaning you can only have bare legs with it, when theres a perfectly usable kilts section that would allow that, plus other stuff underneath....

The Beta is full of bugs? How can that be?!
I appreciate that they tried to make a costume that actually makes female characters look kind of toned and athletic, but the matching leather panties costume piece doesn't have this skin texture on it. Both really ought to.

Or I would be, if the servers were up...

I haven't tried them as Bottoms with Skin, but they should be there. I have them under the Barbarian Skirt.

Speaking of which, I'd have liked the chest to receive some more definition, as well. The muscular texture is there, but it's barely visible and a lot less noticeable than my Male Tights skin swap of old.

You have no idea just how much more appropriate all my fighters would look with "Titanic Arms." Female legs are already big enough as they need to support the female model's bigg butt so these just need a skin texture respray similar to the upper body, but the actual arms of the female model are hinged toothpicks. Those could use an arm model swap with a bigger hand.
Sure, it means my female warriors may never again wear jackets, shirts (the costume category, not the general item by the same name), robes or trenchcoats, but it will be worth it!
*edit*
Speaking of Robotic Arms, I feel that all of the existing ones should work reasonably well with all sleeveless garment options - Jackets, Shirts, Robes, Trenchcoats, the Bolero, all of them. No clipping to be had anywhere. Might be a chore to rig that in the Creator, though.

I was playing with the Barbarian costumes today and noticed a few problems as they apply to female models.
First, unlike the Victorian/Steampunk corsets, the Barbarian corsets cover much lower on the body. There are no 'With Skin' pieces that fit completely under the corset so that it will appear as the only thing your character is wearing. Even 'Eden' and 'Bandeau' poke out the top on both back and front. The closest piece is the new 'Barbarian' top, and it protrudes from the top on the front just a bit. Of course a 'nude' top is out of the question. However, we could really use a minimalist top that fits just under these corsets. |

I say 'muscular', but if you're using it on a character with a slender physique, it looks more 'wrinkly'. Worse, it contrasts with the more smooth bottoms. Even the Barbarian bottom with skin is quite a bit smoother.
I'd personally really like to see this expanded into 'Barbarian Muscular' and a 'Barbarian Smooth' options.
-- Edit --
Again, unlike the Victory Corsets, the Barbarian corsets do not show up as usable details with the Steampunk Jackets.

Thanks for this great set, Artists! I hope you can add some refinements to make it perfect soon!
