Memory leak?
This has become a major problem for me too since i21.
I run a program called cleanmem which monitors my ram usage, the amount of ram used, used to increase at a much, much slower rate than it does now.
Now every time I zone, my ram usage is going up somewhere around 20% i21 has made the memory leak so much more vicious...
There has been a memory leak since at least I20. It caused crashes on my machine when I would do two or three trials. It seemed to get better after a few patches, but then it started getting worse again after the last patch before I21. Yesterday I crashed with an out of memory error after logging in and out of 30 or so characters.
Sounds like my problem except FPS is always around 60-70 fps when I crash to desktop (CTD). I CTD about every 3-5 minutes in new Atlas Park, everywhere else it's about once per hour.

CoH just bombed on my PC -- it usually starts at 1.1 gigs, and by the time it crashed 1.6.
So ... do we have any commonalities?
Win7, 64 bit fully patched

Nothing overclocked
CPU temp stable at 33o

I logged into the VIP head start and the memory leak is worse than ever. Used to be I could hang out indefinitely in Atlas with my Ultra settings enabled; today I crashed twice within 15 minutes there, doing nothing more than flying around and looking at stuff. This was while also using /unloadgfx to try to conserve my leaking memory. I was fervently hoping the I21 stuff would include a patch/fix for the memory leak, but apparently not.
It won't be much longer before CoH is unplayable to me except on basic graphic settings, which is absurd and unacceptable; for years, this game was the most stable MMO I played, I rarely if ever crashed, but since I20 it's been terribly unreliable. I hope they find and fix the problem sooner than later.

There's been a memory leak for....years however tonight I got this message after running the new UG trial. Upon completion it said:
./piggs/stage1b.pigg: Failed memory allocation
Read failed for file: texture_library/WORLD/Villain_lairs/tech/computers/tek1_comp_board1.texture

The game ran out of memory and must now exit.
Thanks, NC Soft, for closing my favorite game ever without warning and with plenty of life still left in it, and thus relieving me of the burden of EVER wanting to buy, try or even hear about another game from your company. Will my decision make a dent, or persuade them in anyway, shape or form? Nope, obviously not. Don't care. NC Soft is dead to me. ~ PsyFox
My game has become riddled with lag spikes for the last two days, when prior to i21, it only occured about once a week and that started after one of the "stability patches" from last month. Something is seriously wrong.

Might not be a CoH problem.
I personally have not seen bad lag except that poor excuse of an invasion on Exalted.

I have admit, the Texas fires have crossed my mind as a possibility, but what are the odds of the lag getting WORSE after the new issue release?

Not entirely sure this new issue is actually related to the memory leak.
I just bought myself more Ram in the hopes of fixing it but it isn't helping at all. I just crashed without going over 19% Ram usage...
Not seeing any memory leak here. Never seen it climb above about 1.2 GB of usage, including after running an iTrial marathon last night (all the trials, back to back, no logging or crashing). I keep Process Explorer up and running on a third display because I am often doing multiple things at once on my PC. It might have gone over 1.2 GB but I didn't notice.

The game's had memory leaks since before my 'retirement' between i12-i13. There's another thread on here that helps to clarify that it's related to x86 (32bit) and memory addressing even if you're on an x64 system. From my understanding, windows doesn't know how to (perhaps even see) over a certain amount of memory. IE: if you install a x86 OS on a system that has 4Gb of ram it'll only see like 3.5Gb of it. If I recall correctly, you also have to consider how much VRAM your GPU has as well.
My experience has shown that the game will start anywhere between 1.0Gb/1.0Gb (Physical/Virtual) to 1.9Gb/1.9Gb during operation and higher numbers the longer it's on. Anytime I notice that my fan is running high I'll toggle over to notice that the numbers are atleast 1.5Gb/1.5Gb (noting that my GPU has 256Mb of VRAM) and if the game crashes, it's ALWAYS atleast that high.
This problem seems to hit faster if I have my browser open and then there's the current Titan Sentinal process hogging bug (TIP: only run it when you want to update your badges until they can fix it). FB crashes IE on me all the time now due to its crappy memory management too. If you're going to have a browser window open and have this, then make sure that you only have new tabs (copy the link you want to be on, close browser, paste link) and only a couple.
Overall I've seen the game's memory usage increase 50% after each of the two major updates (CoV, GR) and smaller increments (maybe 5%) each issue. It's getting a bit big for its britches and needs either a better garbage collector or some serious optimization.
Note: I used to be able to run atleast two instances back in the CoV days at the "Recomended" GFX settings, but now I have to drop into the lowest setting in order to be able to see anything(if I toggle the first instance goes black except for the UI). This is partially related to my GPU/comp's age/spec-limitations.
Since I21 hit, I've had issues with CoH eventually getting laggy and then crashing. When this happens, task manager shows it at 2.6GB or so of active memory, which is about twice what it has in use when it's just started up.
Anyone else?
