The new updater doesn't support pre download.
It is also MUCH faster.

And; how does 5 hours hurt you? the downtime is over 10 hours!

I am looking forward to being able to purchase the energy wings from the celestial armor set some time in the far, far future.

Cannot wait to log on as my scrappy human form PB and see how she performs with the couple of minor changes that were done.

Poison Trap: Reduced this power's interrupt time from 4 to 2 seconds. This power now deals minor damage over time, will hold foes instead of put them to sleep and will reduce the affected targets' recovery while they're within the poison gas. This power now accepts Hold enhancements and IO Sets and Damage enhancements and Melee AoE IO Sets and can no longer accept sleep enhancements and IO sets. Additionally, this power no longer has an interrupt time.
Does this power have an interrupt time or not?

5hrs?! You may need to make sure your yarn is tight, I think you might be getting some packet loss.

I know I will see you again on another game somewhere - one game can't hold all us crazies forever.

5 hours. 303:21 minutes remaining. 134KB/sec. And that's just for the download, no idea how long it'll take to actually patch.

Actual downtime didn't matter because I was asleep. I tried the updater a few hours ago and there was no listing for updating. Whereas I tried it about 20 minutes ago and it finally gave the option to update.

Not "faster" to me. I've always been able to download patches at the cap of my bandwidth. This new patcher is not measurably, to me, faster than the old one. Plus, apparently, it has the added downside of not allowing predownloads. In other words, it got worse with the switchover.

A new Giant Monster threatens First Ward! The Seed of Hamidon periodically invades the Sunken City area, spawning Seedlings and blasting those who venture too near!
  • This is a Zone Event recommended for 8+ players.
  • Players must gather allies to defend First Ward by defeating Seedlings, then finish the fight by assaulting the Seed itself!
  • Defeating Seedlings will give players and all of their teammates/leaguemates 2 minutes of a temporary power called “Buoyant Membrane”. This group flight power allows all players to participate in the airborne sections of the event.
  • Charges of Buoyant Membrane can also be purchased from the Seed Hunter NPCs in the Survivor Compound and at the Chapel of Enduring Light.
Players who manage to defeat the Seed of Hamidon will receive Reward Merits, and a temporary power boosting their experience and influence gain for a limited time. There are also new badges for this event to be discovered in game.
Can any of the beta testers tell me whether or not the seed has unresistable attacks? Like normal Hamidon?

Is there still no option to turn this off? I thought that it was a very common request in beta and we would have had a statement about it at this point. While we're on the topic of unwanted options, if it isn't too much trouble, I'd also like to be able to disable this as well:

Right there with you. My DSL speed would be about 5 hours as well. Going to update my laptop from the local community college while teaching tonight

Lol CoH finally puts voice acting in and you wanna turn it off, that's so cute!

Feminine side away now, the only thing I'm worried about is RP players. You do realize that every player with a time manipulation powerset will try and be an equivalent gawd at lvl one when it comes to role play fighting right? I'm pretty much cracking down on self-inflated time travelers ^_^.

Beside that I have to make two new characters, one is an ice/storm and another time/... time/... I don't know! I just want it! xD

There is no option and there was never a Redname comment on the coins. Clockwork 01 was kind enough to point out other new options people had missed, but studiously refrained from ever mentioning the coins.

The best for now is MTS's Coin-B-Gone. Not a perfect solution, but it seems Paragon Studios is happy with the coins.

I still say making VIPs pay for a power sets is a slap in the face. At least a slap in MY face. As a paying subscriber, that should be viewed as core content and part of our subscription fee. Make free and freemiums pay for it, give it to VIPs as part of the core perk of paying to play. If I lapse into freemium, make me pay for it before I can use it again, fine.

I mean, really, we're getting a very small stipend because of all the perks, but now we're being told we have to spend that stipend on a core component. I have no issues paying real money for QoL stuff as a subscriber and intend on doing so nearly as soon as the servers are stable. But subscribers should have access to core power set additions, like beam rifle, simply for being a paying subscriber.

Partial Character List:
LENINA 198-DELTA - 50+3 DP/Kin Corruptor (Main) / Captiosus - 50+3 Energy/Energy Blaster
Highlands.Hellraiser - 50+1 DS/Fire Tanker / SpazRat - 50 Claw/SR Stalker
Col. Gregor Aktaybr - 45 Robots/Time MM

FIRST WARD

First Ward is a new co-op, co-universe zone in Praetoria covering levels 20-29. A doorway entering this zone can be located in Underground Imperial City. Magic portals to the door can also be found in Talos Island and Cap au Diable. All players can enter First Ward, whether Primal or Praetorian before or after the Rift Enclosure. First Ward contains a wealth of environments and secrets, from the ruins of the Sunken City to the mystique of the Shadowed Paths.
Per the Divided We Fall post, the portals should be over Talos and Sharkhead? The above says, as I italiced, Talos Island and Cap au Diable.

Which is correct? Intended? Typo?

Rocket Board

This power is purchasable from the Paragon Market and offers a sleek and stylish way to fly around Paragon City, the Rogue Isles or Praetoria. This flight power has great maneuverability and higher flight speed than Fly! All powers are disabled while traveling on the Rocket Board.

Does this mean the Rocket Board is faster than the base flight speed, or faster than the fly speed cap?

If they're not going to let us turn them off in the options, I can totally settle for a texture override. Thank you very much for the link.

Please don't patronise me.

I know how to move forwards and jump, target things and attack. Pop help was giving the same kind of basic advice, and I could turn that off before it was out of beta. I would like to do the same with this.

"The Ward is also home to new villain groups such as the Awakened..."

Foul! They stole the name of my SG (the Awakened) which I have on 4 different servers, for a new villain group in The First Ward. I want copyright fees!
