PvP Invention Recipe Drop Rate Bugged?

Hey all,

Not sure if this should be posted here or on the Dev's bugs section, but while I've received some comments in game that support this I haven't found anything on the boards and NC support is claiming they can't answer this issue and I should post or search on the boards.

OK, since the last patch I have noticed an extreme change in drop rates. On average, with killing one enemy repeatedly in an 8 hour time frame, the drop rate was an average of 3. I've noticed now the drop rate seems to be somewhere around 1 per 32 hours or more. Anyone else experience this or know of any recent (as in last week) announcements to drop rate?

It seemed to me like the drop rate got cut in half about three weeks ago. Last week seemed just like the few before it, much lower than it was in early August, but about like it was the week before. (But, I did get two Panacea procs last week, so I'm not really complaining.)

Yeah, the last 2 or 3 weeks seems consistent with when I noticed the change. I thought it happened after the last update/publish/patch, but it may have been before that.

There was some reference not too long ago about a fix they had in mind to stop pvp io farming. Maybe this was it?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought Premium and Free accounts were flagged not to drop PvP IOs?

I've noticed a decreased drop rate also. The message is - if you want to continue to farm these, you need more accounts. Okay, I say. More accounts it is.

Hot Feet and Fire Cages can hit 16 targets.

BTW, I always throught the rate was closer to 1 or 2 a day for a single target.

Considering how performance hungry this game is, with the kind of computing power / electricity needed to run 17 accounts you could probably cure cancer.

Free accounts and sufficiently low Paragon Rewards tier Premium accounts cannot receive PvP IO drops if they defeat someone, but they drop PvP IO recipes just fine when defeated.

I believe a high end gaming machine would be able to do it. I don't know if anyone is crazy enough to PL up 16 F2P accounts though, since it has to be done outside of AE, and tomorrow the Devs may just add a patch that prevents F2P accounts from dropping PvP recipes. That said, I think people with friends who have left may be borrowing those old accounts and bumping up the current farms.

Ive been farming 1 vs 5 : the drop rate is noticely decreased from before seems a lot less than half. With many of the non proc pvp i/o's that drop being not that valuble, its seems farming these not worth it.

I run an 8v8 pvp farm and have noticed a huge drop in the "average numbers". On average I would get between 25-30 drops in a 24 hour period, whereas now, I have been averaging 12-15 in a 24 hour period since the issue hit.

Dont understand why the devs would DROP the rate at which these are dropping, if they up the drops, the market will balance out, and IO's wont be selling for 2-3 billion influence anymore.

P.S. And I run my farm on 2 comps....1 for the killers, 1 for the diers. Have been running it this way for 2 years.....it runs just fine.

Your electric bill.... she is huge!

I still wonder if you are maximizing your drop potential by running it this way bud.

well, according to my best guesses....Im giving myself the following:

With the rep kills only counting once every 5 mins, this gives each toon 12 drops per hour chance, but....each toon on the team has a chance at that given drop. (so really 12x8 per hour)

So, unless my figures are well off....Im guessing at 768 chances of drops per 24 hour period.

I like those chances, and lets be honest....my idea of a crappy 12-15 drop day, in regular player terms, is an awesome day. And I really dont mind that lowered drop rate that much since i still have over 350 bill liquid right now, and 700+ crafted PvP IO's sitting in the bases.

BUT....It would still be better for the game big picture wise to up the drop rate, which will put more on the market, thus lowering prices for those that dont have unlimited funds.
