Trainers are tailors is bizarre update.

Count me in with the "adding tailor shops to Atlas/Mercy made sense but making trainers double as tailors as overkill" camp. My main worry (like Aneko said) is that the over-crowding around the trainers may cancel out any benefit we gained from them doubling as tailors.

Actually, I doubt we'll see crowding - if anything, I think we'll see *less.* (Seriously - go to Icon, Steel Canyon, Virtue any time there's an issue with costume parts or a new pack released - you can't GET to the tailors.)

I mean -
Atlas - Trainer, Icon
Mercy - Two trainers

... to take care of the lower level 'crowding' (*lifts drink to Galaxy*) Heck, Cap will have three "tailoring" spots - two trainers and the Facemaker. And the folks in other level ranges won't have to go to Cap/Steel/IP/St Martial/Founders/Pocket D. They'll be able to hop right to the trainer in THEIR zone.

There's 2 trainers in the new Atlas.

BABs is located in the police station in the NE corner of Atlas.

I know I've made the harsh run from Atlas to the Icon in SC at low level to change something and then gotten stuck at the hospital with no way to escape. It's actually easier to run through PI to get to FBZ to get a raptor pack than get through SC to change costume.

That said, RWZ is there, but new players don't know. And there'll be an Icon in Atlas...but...I'm on Freedom server. Those of us who play the game know to get out of our ghetto named Atlas and never come back.

But, I have no strong feelings one way or another. Regardless of level, I tend to train and change costumes in Pocket-D.

What I'm worried about with CoH:Freedom is that the new name will make even more people who know nothing head to our server. But, hey, maybe they won't be able to find their way out of Atlas.

I doubt they'll be any smarter than anyone else on Freedom, so they'll likely spend 1-50 there just as well as all of you low life, power leveling, ganking, rare duping scumbags

Why yes, I am a Freedom native!

I have this odd visual of a hero who's cape is ripped going over to Back Alley Brawler. BABs then procedes to put on some reading glasses (likely on top of his shades) and tries for a solid hour to thread a needle with those huge gauntlets...

I suppose if they have to make a group of random, ubiquitous NPCs into tailors for no sensible reason, it's as well that they're the trainers and not, say, the Task Force contacts. It'd be pretty funny to picture Numina trying to block a fedora.

"Hmm... oh dear. I don't think... "

"Should I just go try Sister Psyche?"

"Yes, I think that would be best."

I am truly surprised more people didn't think to run across KR to the Independence Port Icon rather than going all the way to Serge. It took me no time at all to see that was the way to go.

As far as BAB being a tailor... You guys didn't know those are Swiss Army Gauntlets? There's a sewing machine function among all the others. My favorite function is either his cappuccino maker or his soda fountain. I'm torn between them. I hear he's planning on getting his old gauntlets upgraded and modernized. He's getting a pair of the new Apple iPunch gauntlets. Sewing? Yeah, there's an app for that.

Personally I find that part of the update bizarre. It looks like the developers wasting money on something not needed in the game. The game has a tailor store.
My guess is that it is because of costume parts unlockable through vouchers and stuff. Personally I'd rather that they made it possible to use the Incarnate unlockable path aura's and such at character creation. Find a way to make those vouchers claimable in the costume creater. But this is an okayish work around. It's a lot better than running all the way to a tailer on a level 1. (Though that's not as bad as it used to be either.)

As for making sense, well, as far as my "in character" characters are concerned, those tailor functions at the trainers don't exist. And neither does changing titles or actually "training" at the trainers.

I find it a little odd to complain about the in-game logic of trainers serving as tailors when you've got much bigger canyons of logic to overcome in order to enjoy the game: like Frostfire needing to have his bacon saved every ten minutes...
