Best build for a Fire/Kin to farm with.

I've always played with melee characters and I got my first Fire/Kin to 50 a few weeks ago. Unfortunately i don't know much about the build of controllers but i'm looking for the hands down best build for a Fire/Kin to farm with. Influence is no problem, any IO's or PVP IO's are affordable for this build to work the best it can.

I dont have any builds handy (I am browsing on my mobile) but I suggest that you make a cheap build. You shouldnt need to spend any serious money to softcap s/l defense and get a wee bit of recharge. Fire/kin/stone. Done.

I estimate that it would cost over 12 billion in influence. You have 3 PvPIO uniques that each go for 2 billion on the market and frequently sell for more than that outside of the market. And then you have complete sets of Gladiator's armor and Shield wall and multiple purple sets.

For all that, you have decent recharge, but low HP, about 1/2 way to soft-capping defense on any position or type but none actually soft-caps.

You stuck a bunch of procs on hot feet, which is fine, but it has no endurance reduction. Hot feet is one of the most expensive toggles in the game. If you run hot feet and your leadership and defensive toggles you will probably find yourself without endurance after fulcrum shift and a few aoes -- probably before transference is up again.

You could rely on your self-heal, but that requires hitting an enemy and you have no accuracy slotted into it.

In short, my friend, your build has many pretty, shiney, expensive things but it does not seem to have any cohesive plan for survivabilty.

PS. Since this is an old build from before getting fitness as inherent powers, you could add in speed boost, increase density, and super speed so that you could be a better team mate when not farming. All three could be beneficial with just the base slot. Generic endurance modification for SB, resistance for ID, and endurance for SS. And if you ever get that gladiator's armor +3% defense, you could slot it in ID.

It is soft capped to smash and lethal, the most common of attack types, uses about half the endurance, has more recharge, and is cheaper by about half, if not more.

Agreed. It is easy to hit S/L cap without any purples or PVP IOs. They are not necessary. Just hit the cap, throw rest into recharge and use /Stone epic to smash things. It's just that good.

I have a couple of builds here. I only have the Mids Data conveniently accessible, but I see the OP has Mids, so I'll post them.

The first one is a slightly more expensive build, but the LOTG and the 2 Basilisk Gaze sets and the Miracle are absolutely optional. Also, since you could do tips for those recipes, it is still not that bad. The only item that is costly that you need to hit the soft cap would be the 4 kinetic combats. This build is the build i eventually morphed my dirt cheap build into once I had a bit of spare cash from farming. But compared to most builds I see people post, its still affordable, esp if you do tips.

The second one is a super super dirt CHEAP build which does not have Cinders, but it is a lot more affordable. I did lots of farming on that build. You don't need any more recharge than that, and it is soft capped.

Anyway, keep in mind that a Fire/Kin/Stone can farm well on the dirt cheap. You dont need a ton of recharge. Frankly, you dont need any defense, tho if you have no defense, you spend a lot more time healing and have more issues opening on groups. But I highly recommend my super dirt cheap.

Don't spend money on your farm build; MAKE money on your farm build, and spend it somewhere else.

Better, but now you are way over softcap on smash/lethal and transference needs acc.

I would get rid of flurry and the extra slots in brawl. That gives you 6 slots and one power pick. Choose either speed boost, inertial reduction, or superspeed.

Put and acc/dam/end or acc/dam/recharge from any melee set on seismic smash; an acc generic or some endurance mod set with acc in tranference,;a recharge in hasten; an acc in siphon speed; a steadfast KB in tough; and an acc in siphon power.

Or you could copy one of the other builds posted.

It's about 10 smash/lethal def over the cap. It's a little overkill imho. You would be fine with 45 (even a little -def is not going to hurt too much). You could drop two of those kinetic sets and make your build a lot cheaper and free up a lot of slots for other things like siphon speed, transference, fulcrum shift and earth's embrace.

I know its plant, but I think it applies more or less (defensively speaking).

It's still a work in progress (game build from sentinel), but with those numbers I can go +4 X8 fire or smash/lethal.

This is very much a learning process for me but i think i'm starting to understand and i believe this is a good build now.

Looks pretty good.

I still think that you have over 4 billion (the two PVPIOs) that you don't need. But luckily you are still over the softcap without them. That makes them something nice to have one day but not at all necessary.

im sry but your slotting this akwardly instead of holds and stuns use AoE sets your slotting like you only want to stun or disorient. controllers need more damage not more holding take out some of those hold crap in fire cages on fire cages its not disorienting and they can still it you.

and honestly so what if they arent held in the thing 24.7 its no like they can't hit you like those fissure and seismic smash are melee. so its a much better idea and for holding use cinders or the cool flashfire and you NEED bonfires damage.

A farming kin doesn't need more damage in its attacks because it will cap damage with fulcrum shift and then can keep it capped.

okay well the average fire/kin does about 20 damage off of fire cages. now you have activated fulcrum shift you get about an average 200% plus damage but 60 dam on bosses isn't takeing you anywhere. We all know that

Try to keep your build as cheap as possible, because you should be farming for purples with it... not influence, or AE tickets. A SS/FA brute is much better at the last two, so best not waste your time.

Bonfire does nice damage but it also has KB that I don't want while farming, and the damage bonus from FS will be greater than that.
