I have farmed with this Brute for awhile with now problems on the Fire/Crey map 54x8. Then last week I started taking a beating. I even died twice during a farm run. Having to tell the group your sorry is NOT cool. Can someone take a look under the hood and find my problem please?

Do you mean farming or PLing? If you're just farming for drops then there's no reason to go above +0.

Seems like slightly odd slotting for farming... If you are farming fire mobs, you might want to try for some Fire defense, as S/L just doesn't seem to help very much. (I'm working on my more general-play build with capped S/L def, and have found that even though many fire attacks do have an S/L component, enough do not that I still have to eat purple inspirations to boost my overall defense...) If you are farming S/L mobs, well, /FA's much-lower S/L resistance is going to be a hindrance, particularly without capped S/L def.
You probably want to frankenslot Foot Stomp, and place a Force Feedback +recharge in there. When farming, it is just about guaranteed to trigger every Foot Stomp, which speeds things up a huge amount.

Whatever you want to call it. I'm power leveling lowbies while farming for tickets. So I run it at 54x8. Like I said, was never a problem until last week. It's like my defense has been stripped.

I wonder if the devs made some balance changes? Hrrrmmmm.....

Ehn, I don't care enough to look. On the occasions when I bother to farm, I use a tank. It all dies, regardless of what it is.

Use moar inspirations. Really that's all I could say, you shouldn't be dying with capped resistance. Tell the people you're PL'ing to not use any so they all drop on you.

First, IIRC, the map you're using includes bosses with some S/L damage, which will tear through 35% resistance values pretty quickly. It's a tradeoff in fire ambush farms, the bosses are either worth less than 100% experience at level 50 or they have some S/L damage. You're safer going with the pure fire damage option, but it'll cost you some experience from each boss taken down. Maybe try another map to see how things shake out.

Second, you've got a decent amount invested in S/L defense, which will help against those few boss attacks I mentioned, but does nothing to prevent fire attacks from hitting. Since almost all of the incoming damage is fire, you need a lot more fire defense to be safe. How much? Be softcapped (45%) to fire at all times. You have 90% resistance, but that means you're taking 10% of every hit and you're facing up to 17 attacks at any given moment. Without defense, that adds up very quickly. I'd recommend slotting for fire defense to get to the 20% threshold, then either picking up Vengeance (great for PLing) or popping enough purples to stay softcapped at all times.

Third, farming is all about xp/tickets/inf per second. If you're dying or battles are dragging out, you're hurting yourself and the people you're trying to PL. Drop the difficulty a little and your enemies have fewer HP, lower accuracy, and will cause less damage when they do hit. Many people swear by +2/x8.

If you are PLing others they can be an inspiration vacuum if they are using them.

So if you went from Solo farming where every inspiration was yours, to PLing where you now get less Inspirations you would see a noticeable difference.

This, when you are on a team of maybe 3 or more people you cant count on very many insp to drop. It's one of the reasons i highly recommend getting veng. It helps to make up for the fact that you aren't getting many (if any at all) purples.

okay here is the BIGEST problem your getting the slotting wrong get rid of either boxing or kick and replace it with the tough i know it sounds weird but this is actually a good one to pick use aegis lot it with it get one complete set of aegis for 1 power each complete set of aegis get 4% def to fire cold only use 3 aegis with temp proc, fire shield, plasma shield, tough and maybe just as a subjestion get 6 slotes in your healing flames half (3) numina's or doc wounds and (3) aegis those alone would give you 16% def to fire/cold dam get your weavekinda play ith it 20% def to fire cold now get your maneuvers 22% def to fire and cold and thats if manuevers is unslotted so thats our def play around a lil with IOs you will get it all done good just do what i did

but lets also say you got vengance you then are pretty much covered for def damage i can't say thats the part im working on

Since you are SS, are you suffering rage crashes and the -20% def that follows (plus, near zero damage)? I dont know your map, but you mentioned crey (dont they use cold?). If they are stacking some -recharges on you, rage might not be perma, and you are hitting crashes. -20% defenese is significant.

A thought.

50 Tanks: Invul/ss, Fire/ice/fire, Ice/em, Stone/fire
WP/Stone, dark/dark, shld/mace

50 Other: WS, SS/dark/sc brute, BS/Regen/WM scrpr, fire/fire/force blaster, rad/kin corr, mind/rad ctrl, ill/storm cntrl

The Crey he's talking about is a popular AE fire farm and all Fire damage (except maybe an attack or two has a smashing component.)
