make Shadow Shard a free pvp zone

Its one of the biggest zone's in the game but most of the time there is nobody there.
Also its only heroes at this moment. Wouldnt it be great to make it an open pvp zone? Just implement stuff there so people are willing to go there. But with a warning that you can get atacked by other players. Would be nice if there is something like the old protect your sg base kind of stuff. but then with whole zones that you can atack or protect. And afcourse with rewards that justify it for people to be there. You can have a full pvp and pve game next to eachother where you just can choose to be in an epic pvp battle or just do pve stuff in other zones. |

I've always been in favor of making the shard a Co-Op zone but no thanks on the pvp aspect of it.
It can be difficult enough to get people to run a shard tf as it is.

Shadow Shard would be horrible for PvP. And to all of you saying PvP is dead, just because you don't like it doesn't mean its not there.

First, do NOT take the following post to imply that I actually agree with Je Saist... because I almost never do. I am merely toying with the bit of math that was provided.
20 * 8 = 160 people
50,000 = Let's say that is an EXTREMELY conservative estimate of total subscribers for this game
Lets also figure that for each of those 160 people you are talking about that are on-line at a given time PvPing in the window you describe, there are 10 more people who are not online. So:
160 * 10 = 1,600 PvP Enthusiasts
1,600 / 50,000 = 3.2%
First of all I do want to say I'm not interested in the PvP aspect of most games. It just doesn't "work for me".
I would like to see the PvP portion of the game stronger for those that do like it. Even though they are a smaller portion of the population, I do have friends within the game who do enjoy PvP and don't want to take that away from their enjoyment of the game. That being said, I don't think making the Shadow Shard a PvP zone works. I think making it a Co-op zone is more desirable, at least in my mind.

Also, you weren't counting zone play, which probably had more than the ladder. You could do all the math in the world but the fact is that we have evidence compared to what people -think- they saw and making up rough estimates.

PvP Redux is discontinued, for obvious reasons. Thanks to everyone who helped and joined.
Regular PvP participation was at its highest during i7, according to Ex Libris. As of i10, she had posted that regular PvP population had dropped to just above ten percent of the total player population.
