Request: More High Level Tip Missions

I'd like to request the addition of more Tip missions for heroes and villains alike, especially higher level tip missions. It's incredibly tedious running the same four or five missions over and over and over again when you're 50. Another five or six tip missions and a third morality mission thrown into the till for each alignment, especially Hero and Villain, would seriously break up the repetition. With this also break up the enemy types, or more variety. Most of the time on heroes it's just Malta, Arachnos, Carnies, Longbow, Nemesis and Devouring Earth.

If it's a time thing, maybe solicit the playerbase to submit missions written in AE?

I agree with this suggestion. I love the tip missions and would really like to see some more variety especially at high levels. Seems like its usually Malta/Arachnos/Devouring Earth/COT/Council(some 5th column but never enough if you ask me) I know there is the "Peregrine Explosion" with freaks, but how bout some groups you dont see as much(or at all) at high levels like the Warriors or some elite types of Hellions/Skulls...lets not forget about those pesky snakes and other factions from the "ROGUE ISLES".

The point of the mobs that stop showing up as you level is that you've moved entirely beyond them. At level 50, the enemy groups you face are the elite of the villain world, and their missiosn generally pose a real threat to entire cities and occasionally threaten the entire world. The low-level street thugs, organised crime figures, and rotting zombies are so far below you that they aren't worth your time. You're leaving them for the smaller heroes to handle, because you have more significant threats to face.

You don't send TAG-EAST to handle a school hostage situation, because at the least it's a waste of money compared to a police response team, and at the worst while they're busy there a major terrorist strike takes place that you could have otherwise stopped. Your hero can save the world now, and with the number of world-ending threats in the CoH setting, every time you do something that ISN'T saving the world, you're putting it at risk.

More variety would be good.

I run tips a lot on my 50s, (foe Hero Merits) and it is rather repetitive

I completely understand your point and the "why" behind the reason we don't see certain enemy groups as we get higher, but when you hit 50 it gets boring to do the same misisons all the time against the same groups. We have several enemy groups that can be upgraded/altered to fit some new TIP missions that will be challenging at lvl 50. I am not talking about new story arcs just talking about TIP missons(one and done). It's all fiction and I'm sure a creative writing team could work around threat lvl limitations. It's probably going to be easier to use existing groups than to create all new high lvl groups for new Tips. More Cowbell thats all im saying!

It would be nice, I agree, but then again there are already plenty of other things to do in the 40-50 range besides running tip missions.

I've set myself a goal with my namesake Dr. Harmony to accrue 30 Hero merits and get that Gladiator's Armor piece. But Ive realised I'll enjoy it much more if I don't just grind out 5 Hero tips a day and play some story arcs, or just join radio team pickup groups or anything else.

For example, I've made a rule to go through the Rikti War Zone missions and play one of those missions every time I need to generate a tip. I fully intend to play thorugh the Praetorian arcs now that theyve been revamped. I even get regular merits for doing this, which is a bonus.

I think what I'm trying to say is that I've enjoyed playing a lot more once I de-clenched a bit on the Hero Merit thing

I'd like to be able to exemplar down and run tip missions for any sort of tip that I come across. Perhaps a slider or choice option that allows for us to select the level that we would like to gather tips for. This would provide varity not only in the mobs fought, but also within the morality arcs themselves and expanding any level of tip will effect all characters equally.

I'll support this suggestion.
Other level fifty groups we could face off with could include...

-Vanguard: For Villains and Rogues

-Banished Pantheon: For Heroes and Vigilantes (there is a level fifty version of them...)

-Army of Rularuu: For all four groups

-Rularuu Reflections: For all four groupds

-Kheldians/Nictus: For all four groups

-Ghosts: For heroes and vigilantes

-Paragon Police Department: For villains and Rogues

A) these are tips, not world saving mission arcs. Random Acts of Heroism/Villainy don't need to be so overly limited.

B) there are a lot more 50+ foe groups than what we're given currently in Tip Missions. There are even several foe groups that could be tweaked a little bit and work quite well in the endgame.

I am 100% behind the suggestion.

I understand Tip Missions are not the glory work their big mission writers should get paid to put a ton of time into. I've always wished they would have a Player Contest to make fair fun and engaging tip missions.

For me, I treat tip mishes as the random case/problem that falls on the lap of a hero or whatever would fit the morality of the character I'm playing as opposed to the regular save the world/take over the world stuff from the story arcs. I agree more tips would be good, but they need not be ground breaking story changing things, just something that popped up unexpectedly. For example, a group of thugs got hold of some (weapons/explosives/or anything else that makes sense) and it's a time sensitive matter meaning you can't wait for a 'lesser experienced' hero to come along. May not be a great example, but i think it makes the point.

Thanks to everyone that helped make me a welcomed part of the community, and for giving me over 3 years of some of the best gaming I've been able to take part in. May the next game bring many friendships and maybe reconnect to some old CoH friends.
