I am seeking death! So I ask, what is the most difficult thing in the game. If I maxed the difficulty what would it be? Trial, TF, badge? With a team or solo. Oh and yes I have tried to solo Hamidon it wasn't going anywhere so something plausible.

Soloing a Devouring Earth GM seems particularly difficult, but I'd like to think it's possible.

It's been done.


If you're looking for a challenge, solo the Statesman TF. There is alot that's possible in this even solo if you set your goal, plan and set up the right character for the task.

Statesman has been solo'd by several folks now.

You want challenge?

Try rolling a petless MasterMind and solo some bank missions set with bosses!

Run the 'Stop 30 Fir Bolg from escaping' mission in Croatoa on any character with one rule, you can't let a single one escape, period.

Revive the 'Man Build' concept from years ago.

Attempt to mediate the arguement between Jack in Irons and Eochai.

Take on a Master Illusionist solo on a Blaster and win.

Defeat TrapDoor without killing the clones.

Defeat Protean without running from his special ability.

Run an iTrial and when Marauder appears tell the team "I've got this"

These two aren't all that difficult.

Depending on the AT, powersets & temps that ranges from trivial to impossible; my Warshade destroyed him before he had his 2nd clone out, whereas my Kin/Elec defender was thwarted by the fact that he doesn't need endurance to spawn clones

I'd be interested in seeing a duo BAF. Having to deal with dual sequesters and the escapee phase in the same trial is bound to make things interesting.

Solo lambda is reasonably hard as well, although easier than a duo BAF IMHO.

I've actually discussed attempting this with a friend. We think two ill/colds could do it.

How would you handle the escapee phase? One south, one north, with 2 sets of lore pets set to goto south, perhaps? I was thinking illusion may not have enough damage for that, pet AI being what it is and having to kill running lieutenants without containment, but I don't know.

It's pretty clear you want at least one illusion for the final fight anyway. However, I was thinking the sheer amount of bosses ambushes would make some more significant AoE damage important - if only because soon enough, non-Lore pets would start dividing their attacks too much and PA in particular might lose aggro on the AVs. Then again it might be possible to coordinate Judgements well enough, and with up to ~-160% res base, "+1" AVs probably don't last long even with just Lore pets and non-contained damage.

I was thinking about a SS/Fire brute + Ill/rad controller myself - /rad over /cold so you get AoE -regen, which is a great boon with a single debuffer on the duo IMHO as you wouldn't want an unfortunate tic of regen right as the other AV goes down (and stacking EMP on top of LR just before their death should shut off their -regen completely). Of course, that's much, much lower -res and less PA, which could cause the brute to get sequestered if PA chooses to focus on the wrong AV. On the other hand, much more AoE damage and more control on that damage as it is tied to the player directly rather than pets.

I've held a door alone without Lore pets on small team BAFs, so I think it should be doable. The pets are actually really good at the escapee phase because pets can target the enemies before players can. A lot of the time the minions are defeated before they're even visible.

With all the level shifts the Lts are only +1 which can be burned down pretty quickly with SW-Blind-APP Blast, even without Containment. Can always pop reds if we need to.

Bear in mind the spawns should scale down to two people. I'm not sure how many bosses would appear per ambush with two people, but illusion has the ST confuse for that. If we target the same boss, we can instantly confuse them.

Rad having two AoE -regen powers is definitely a great boon. I'm hoping that the extra -res in Cold can make up for it. As you say, a missed tick of regen could really throw a spanner into the works.

What I would be most concerned about is the pull to the tennis courts. PA couldn't be relied upon to do that effectively, the only way I can see would be just eat insp and try to pull them as fast as possible.

Anyhow, this is all theorycrafting. I think it should be doable with either two ill/colds or a SS/FA and an ill/rad.

If they do then it shouldn't be a problem indeed. I always thought they just scaled by groups of 8 players ; i.e. 1-8, 9-16 and 17-24 being the same. It's a PITA to test that stuff, given the minimum warm bodies requirements to start it up...

Given that I'd definitely go with 2 ill/cold over 1 ill/rad + 1 ss/fire brute.

I've had reasonable success doing pulls without buffs on a night widow, and with frostworks an ill/cold should have more HP. The likelyhood of AVs hitting twice in a row is small, seeing as you're going to be outside of LoS waiting for the AV to catch up to you most of the time, so I find a few respites or some means of fast healing (i.e. rebirth) generally does the trick.

Silas as posted above as one, myself for another. Some folks just don't feel the need to post or document their personal accomplishments for braggin' rights, they know they did it and that is enough. Thank God or some peoples Sigs would be ridiculous.

And my fire controller got him held before the first spawn.
