If you don't normally get annoyed, don't start now. File a petition, get in touch with a GM and I'm nearly certain they will be able to resolve things to your satisfaction. Getting mad just makes the people you're mad at less likely to help you.

Email yourself something else and claim that and it should sort itself. This has happened to me now a couple times.

I don't understand why he's upset at the game. It's not the games fault he wasn't paying attention to how much stuff he had in his enhancement tray when he went and claimed the items.

The game even has warnings that pop up when our trays and storage are full so we don't do exactly what the OP did. He would have had to make a conscious decision to open up Options and disable those warnings if he didn't see them, or he simply ignored them.

In either case the OP only has himself to blame not the game.

Huh?

Because when you pay for a computer game, you expect it to be automated as much as possible. And checking such basic thing as inventory availability is such a check I expect from my game. It does check if I can afford what I buy in game then also check if I have space for it. Its a damn game and I dont want to fuss over such detail after a day at work fussing over a million such details. I pay to have a max of fun at a minimum of fuss.

The game does check to see if your inventory is full and it gives you a warning.

It isn't the games fault if you turned it off or ignored it. That's all on you. So like I said you have no one to blame but yourself.

You are certainly acting like a bridge dwelling creature right now.

I can't see how this is the OP's fault but feel free to continue your rabblerabble.

I claimed mail with a full inv and never received a warning from the system, never. Instead I lost that mail, it was worthless salvage so didn't waste time on it. With the amount of mapserver crapola, DC'ing and general lag one suffer on a regurlar basis in this game, even if such a warning would pop, one could probably also miss it among all that load of ill effect. It is exactly for such reasons that the system should NOT allow a move (from claim, buy or trade) to an already filled inventory, period.

Blaming the players for an oversight as basic as inventory management is simply lame. This game as tons of such oversight, all players fault I presume in your cowboy view? Why do you think you cant buy more enhancement from store when your inv is filled, because at some point someone decided the system would check for such a situation. I am sure otherwise one player like you as said, its the players fault he/she don't check its inv status. Still nowadays its automatically checked and prevented, such should be done with any type of treasurer to a fileld inventory.

You dont do a lot in your own home, in your car, or on your computer, because we didn't listen to such crap as "Its their fault if they dont, check, knew, view bla bla bla...". The whole concept is to leave the gaming to the player and the management to the system, not the other way around.

Sure thing, since you were polite about it.

There's the very enhancement full warning the game has that automatically checks to see if our trays are full and warn us.

If we choose to disable it or ignore it then it's our own fault when we get burned.

While I don't agree with Forbin, there is also another warning that no one has mentioned. The words such as Enhancements along the top of your powers tray, turns Red when your tray is full. Same for Salvage and Recipies.

The game SHOULD backstop you on errors such as claiming something you don't have room for. However, I have observed that most Perfect People, sometimes know as Saints, on in one case Jesus, don't actually get involved in the computer game coding profession on a regular basis. Such people seem to have more important things to do.

So expecting perfection as a norm from our Devs, or anybody else we do ordinary business with, is not going to add peace and harmony to our lives.

Expect incompetance and oversights and try to guard against them. The first time you are speeding along, clearing inventory, and sell a purple recipe to the store chick (Jak raises hand) on an ITF, you will get it. Go slow and think ahead, because there will NEVER be a day when this game has a Perfect Interface, and I do not expect to attain perfection myself anytime soon.

That said, this interface goof is a biggie and needs fixing. Thanks for posting your bad experience, OP, as a warning to us all. Hope the GM's recover your lost item asap.

Jak

This. It definitely works. I went through the same thing recently and the above worked liked a charm.

Thirded. Relogging didn't work for me, but having to claim something else first did. Just make sure you have room for both items.

Hence the Buyback function most games offer. Just some bad lag at the wrong time and u click on the wrong thing to sell, not always the players fault, so a fail safe system is a minimum.

I've tried claiming things with a full inventory before, Forbin's "its your fault you should have known" is pretty far off.

The game usually will have the enhancement disappear from your WW, then re-appear back in WW as soon as it realizes you just tried to claim it while full. Unfortunately lag, market server lag/stress, or bad luck can interrupt that and something appears to go missing.

Like others have said sometimes you need a GM to fix it, or sometimes emailing something to yourself/dropping something in WW to ping the server on what inventory you're supposed to have will make it show .

You can believe whatever you like but it doesn't change the fact that it isn't the games fault when a player tries to claim things when their trays are full. It's not the games fault if a player disables the warnings that are there to let him or her know their trays are full. Nor is it the games fault if a player doesn't see the warning because they are too tired, or not paying attention for any number of reasons.

Let it go already. You're just looking like a jerk now.

No, it's a stupid design flaw. The consignment house checks to see if you have room available for items or influence. But the email system does not. Since we have an example where the game DOES check and protect you from mistakes, it is not unreasonable to expect it to do that consistently. It's sloppy design.

Why don't you stop spouting such stupid BS - "doesn't change the FACT"? No, it's not a fact. It's your opinion. You're not the arbiter of truth and fact.

There's certainly no indication that trying to claim an enhancement when your tray is full will seize up your email. There's also no indication of how to fix it. This doesn't happen anywhere else when you try to claim something for which you have no room. Saying it's the OP's fault is ridiculous and stupid.

Glad you got it fixed SoulTouch.

thank you for everybody's help, hopefully in the future it'll work around the same system WW does when you try to claim something when you're either capped or full on enhancements, as ironblade said.
