Unable to Log In anyone?

I get this message every time I try to log in: he game client was unable to connect to the login server. This may be due to a local network issue such as a firewall block, or may be because the login server is down for maintenance. Please check your network settings and try again, or check http://www.cityofheroes.com/servers/index.html for current server status. However, the servers page says that all of them are up. Anyone else having this issue?

Yep probably in the final stages of QA with the new patch.

*nod* A while ago, (over an hour, at least) I saw the "servers coming down in 30 minutes" message.

What doesn't help is that the server status page seems to be borked half the time.

Servers are still down until at least 12:00 with maintenance. The server status page is broken, so that's no help. Just have to try after noon.

Meh... who needs server status pages? Just watch the forums, and when you stop seeing brand new threads called "Login Problems?" "Servers Still Down?" "Server Status Says Up", etc, then you know the servers are back online.
As a bonus, reading some of the posts is far more entertaining than staring at the broken Server Status Page, which currently seems to be informing us of what the status was a month ago.

Especially with avatars like yours. I am finding it hard not to giggle.

Am I the only one who finds this last-minute announced interruption of game play unacceptable?

True, they are going to do the maintenance while the servers are down, which is good.

But, they should have done this publish on Thursday, to coincide with the Scheduled down time. If, in fact, there was some game-breaking issue (or game fixing, lol) that needed to be addressed, this should be explained before the servers go back up, not after.

Patch notes should also be posted while the servers are down, not when they go back up. If they can't fix what needed to be fixed, they should know that from their testing prior to the update. Admittedly, there's much I don't know about what those devs do, but from a customer standpoint, they constantly irritate me with this lack of forethought.

Oh I agree, they do that all the time.

As a good idea to what the patch notes will be, check the last ones on test, its rare for something to skip the test server.

The reaon why they don't put them up? Redacting something is alot harder than just not saying it in the first place. If the patch causes a critical error and needs to be reverted to the previous version, you may have a bunch of people running around believing something thats not true, and ignorance spreads like wildfire.

As to why to publish it now, Incarnate Trials are their thing, and iXP is broken, fixing it as soon as the fix has gone through the necessary checks is a good thing.

Because 18 hours advance warning just isn't enough.

I agree on the patch notes thing, though.
