Im tired of this thread. I have no slots left on Virtue !!! Dechs already got me to make a Dark/Stone tank.. which I love..

just stop it already !!!

well,.. here's my shade build, which i based very roughy on Dechs.. I haven't looked over his in awhile, but i was able to successfully off tank Nightstar with it on the last BAF run i did. Worked really well rocking 85% resistance, and bouncing taunt with a tanker. We basically did the last 15% on her, as we were going for the gotta keep em separated badge.

I never thought that I would live the day to see this! Thanks for posting your build Dech'

I've sent you mine before in an e-mail and you helped me critique it well (by the way if you get any spam from Bionut1192@aol.com PLEASE report it for spam and block it, my e-mail was hacked :P)

Anyways, I'll be comparing this to my build and fine-tuning!

Thanks for letting me re-conceptualize my 'Shade, Dechs. I have been worrying a lot about how he dies really quickly when I make a mistake, or when Eclipse runs out and there are only a few enemies around to re-eclipse from.

Your heavy use of Stygian Return let me re-conceptualize it as "Hey, that's okay" and I proceeded to run him through an ITF grabbing all kinds of aggro and bouncing right back up whenever he (rarely) fell over. It was a blast!

Less worrying, more soul-eating. That's the ticket.

How did you get that small box that shows your stats like dmg buff and such? I would love to have one of those!

From the Power Tray, Powers > Combat Attributes > Right click an attribute (like Damage Bonus, Lethal Resistance, etc.) and select 'Track' or whatever it's called.

I think there's a maximum, but I'm not sure on that number. You can manage them directly afterwards by right-clicking on that small, new window (you can move them up and down the list, stop tacking them individually or all at once, etc.).

Where would you put +HP on your list of priorities when it comes to High end WS slotting? My build strategy was Recharge then +HP, because of the immense ammount of resistance. I'm not the best build-maker, but I was seeking as much of both as I could.

I'm not at my home computer right now so I can't post a build, I was just wondering how much you valued +HP bonuses, because you didn't seem to say that much about them in your guide. Either that or I missed it, but they seem like they'd be extremely powerful for Warshades.

Thanks! This is much more convenient than pulling up that huge box to find something small.

My priorities were as follows:
1. Recharge Bonuses
2. Enhancement Values
3. Bonus HP/regen
4. Accidental bonuses

If you look at my build, you'll see that I have two sets of three Devastations for the high HP and regen bonuses. I did not, however, get HP anywhere that I thought I could get better enhancement value out of, such as with Call to Arms.

I suspect most player's Warshade builds to prioritize this way:

1. Recharge
2. Defense
3. Enhancement Values
4. Accidental bonuses

Slotting for defense often means not getting all the enhancement you want unless you throw extra slots at your powers. The biggest problem for a WS is that those slots are hard to come by. Then again, the defense multiplies your resistance, reaching insane survivability. Stygian Circle and Sunless Mire can easily make up for any lacking enhancement values, as well.

It's entirely possible that I didn't emphasize it enough. A good many of my characters build for high HP, to include my Mastermind and my Brute. HP is an effective way to get more survival as long as you already have high mitigation elsewhere. Defense and Resistance each multiply the value of all of your hit points, so it is usually best to build one of these first. Warshades build for resistance by gaining recharge.

I think I put HP closer to the top because I used to PvP and got used to trying to get as much HP as possible to survive spikes. That little habit followed me on to my PvE builds.

The cause of this line of thinking is probably my time spent playing Magic: the Gathering. It was playing that game that I learned to treat life or hitpoints as a resource, not something to be guarded. I am just as comfortable playing with my health at 10% as I am playing with it at 90%. With tools like Stygian Circle and Stygian Return to recover my resources, I don't need to worry about overspending.

Actually, the reason I was so intent on maxHP buffs is because, from what I can tell, they're often found alongside recharge buffs.

Anyway, I'm able to put up a build now, and would very much appreciate a once over if you can. Just to make sure I didn't do anything too outlandish.

That's not -that- insane, is it? Depending on what sets come with I21, I might move slots from Inky Aspect to Dwarf Strike. As for Pnumbral Shield, I just can't seem to get the Eye aura right in the costume creator, so I use it

I don't have mids here, and I won't get home until very late tonight, but there's a few things that jump at me.

Inky Aspect is overslotted. Really, all it needs is an accuracy IO, but that is a nice place to get the Stupefy recharge bonus if you can't find another power to do so.

I would swap the slotting of Ebon Eye and Gravimetric Snare. They both deal the same damage, but Ebon Eye is all at once and I think the animation is faster too, so you want the better slotting there.

I don't like slotting Stygian Circle for heal, I feel like it's a waste. You get almost a full bar off of just a dead minion. I find you get the most benefit out of endurance reduction or modification. However, Panacea great way to get some recharge.

I was wondering what you'd say as advice for a tri-form / MF'ing Warshade trying to level up on a relatively tight budget? We're talking 12 million INF max here, and even that is stretching the purse-strings.

I'm very interested in a Warshade, and I've had fun with a Peacebringer before. I've got a pretty good plan for powers up to the 30s or so, although my slotting is where I'm really unsure. What gets my which slots when, what's my priority (apart from frankenslotting RECH into every slot I can stick it in), that kind of thing.

Heh. I'm poking my nose in as well. I'm looking at my "I know I was doing something here..." Warshade - I remember, for some reason, thinking of chasing +Regen (for the hell of it, I don't IO seriously,) then stopped that partway through and went for... er... something.

Need to do some build tweaking

I'm very interested in a Warshade, and I've had fun with a Peacebringer before. I've got a pretty good plan for powers up to the 30s or so, although my slotting is where I'm really unsure. What gets my which slots when, what's my priority (apart from frankenslotting RECH into every slot I can stick it in), that kind of thing.
I have an entire section in my guide about cheap frankenslotting. Posting from phone... More details to follow.

EDIT: 12 million is super cheap, so you're pretty much restricted to the frankenslot budget. You can't expect to have a perma eclipse build on that budget, but you can still get a great character. My recommendations are finding the cheap recharge where you can (things like a Stupefy set in Gravitic Emanation) and using any merits you have to purchase LotG + Recharge IOs.

Where to now?

Gotcha-- Thank you very much. Re-reading that section, it definitely does handle levelling more than I originally thought it did.

My one question is, if anyone has tested it: Does Burnout bring back my Nova and Dwarf powers, or will they not come up because they're Inherent? Because I was thinking about fooling around with that, given that I have respecs pouring out random orifices.

... see also "Get your alignment 'reaffirmed' and run the SSAs for hero merits," as well.

12 million INF as a budget can barely get you outfitted in SOs or straight common IOs ... let alone any Sets worth a pancake.

It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for ...

Well, yes, but I'm mostly asking about the levelling process- I know I'm going to be using more or less pure SOs for that. I was wondering primarily where to slot when while levelling-- Most guides (Excepting the MF'ing, of course) only talk about slotting at the end, not for the process of getting there.

As someone expecting to have some purples in their warshade (once said warshade hits 50), I'm wondering one thing...

Why have Ragnarok in Dark Nova Emanation and not Detonation?

I like Emanation more. It does more damage and recharges more often. It does hit less targets though.

If you can live without the proc, it'll hit way more targets than Detonation if you throw a Range IO in there. I'm curious about what you'd think of my build, but I'm a Mids' noob.

Range IO or no, the target caps are still different. Em caps at 10, Det at 16.

I'd gladly give your build a once over. PM or email it.
