Thinking about BOTS/FF .... good idea?
I had a lvl 50 bots/ff *remaking one now since i wont have to take forever buffing them anymore* and let me assure you that Group Fly does have -acc, but its still useful for when your Force Bubble cant keep the enemies back. Besides, an army of flying robots is cool . Also, Fly doesnt have -acc.
Actually, they finally removed the -ACC from Group Fly. Pets still tend to wander off and fall out of the fly radius but at least they shoot straight.
Bots are indeed slow pre-32, but once you get the Assault Bot and the second upgrade you suddenly have some real AoE power and speed up a lot. Bots/FF is pretty much immortal, though since FF is a pure buff set you will indeed be on the low side for damage (any /FF MM is)... if you want good defense plus debuffs then Bots/Traps is a better choice but Bots/FF is even harder to kill.
(Of course since almost nothing kills Bots/Traps anyway I'm not sure you need to be harder to kill, but you will be. )
Cascade, level 50 Blaster (NRG/NRG since before it was cool)

Bot/FF/Mace.... You'll be unkillable. Your damage will be crap. But you'll be unkillable.
I've got a 50 bot/ff/mace and I honestly don't get the claims that bot has so much damage. Yeah the Assault Bot missiles cause burn patches which do great damage. But all the pets have knockback so the enemies are IMMEDIATELY knocked out of the burn patches so.... Great damage potential, but actual damage, not so great.

Most people probably go with Mu mastery for the -kb immob it has, which would keep them in the burn patch for a longer period of time. Sure, you lose the defense shield, but it's still not hard to softcap yourself, and you get some decent additional resists to play with.

If they made group fly a more selectable power instead of a all in group it would work much better. Many just do not like the whole group fly thing. But solo it is cool.
Mid_Boss pretty much summed up Bots FF. You can solo 4/8 settings but AVs and GMs will be a stalemate. You won't be able to kill them and they won't be able to kill you. Not the end of the world, but annoying a bit.

I have a 50 Bots/FF/Mu incarnate. With the buff changes, it went from boring to interesting, since I spend a lot more time attacking.
It is a great combo, in my opinion. You essentially have one of the toughest builds in the game (My Big Bot and Lil Bots are 60 Defense, while myself and the Defense Bots are ~49% defense; on top of it I have strong resists vs. S/L and energy). You have moderate/decent single-target and very strong AoE. Yes, you will need to leverage burn, but its not the be all and end all. I supplement my AoE with my repulsion bomb and Mu AoE attack, plus IO procs on the bots, plus Musculature alpha, my Judgement AoE, etc.
Yes, it is is not the build for soloing AVs and GMs. However, it is the build for utter, complete carnage across the battlefield, and large heaps of the dead lying at your feet as you survive unscathed, laughing at lesser creatures.

Yes, I like Force Fields.
I'm not sure where the "low damage" thing comes from (and maybe it is true?), but I have a level 50 Bots/FF MM and I've never thought they were low damage in the slightest, haha...
I tear through things. It is a lot of fun. Others join me and watch laughing maniacally.
Along the way, I didn't think it could get better... then the second upgrade came along... And wow.
I think some people are speaking a little more from the overly critical side of things (no offense, if that's their taste -to be that critical and focused on the numbers, more power to you!) because I don't think of Bots as being low damage at all... quite the opposite.
As for the knockback detracting from the damage... some times that may be unavoidable, but most of the times I have all my enemies pinned against a wall as they get slaughtered by a hail of laser fire and engulfed in flames.
And yes, Group Fly has had the -ACC removed!
And the AOE bubbling makes things SOOOO much quicker! I love it!
Also, I use Force Bubble a lot to help push everything into a corner or something and have my bots blast them to smithereens.
I made the character entirely out of concept and didn't know I had pushed the I win button until after I was already leveling him and some in-game friends were talking to me about it.
I'm surprised to see people talking it down... It's killer and I highly doubt you'll regret making one.

I have one and where it really started to shine was when I made more of a Tanker build. I have the provoke pool... I taunt the mobs to attack me.. the Bots are in Bodyguard mode. The shoot what tries to hit me.. but with all the defense and the buff I dont get killed and neither do they..
I love being on teams and say. Ill tank.. and people look at me like I am crazy.. very fun. I did take the two FF attacks and I rarely ever use them.
The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.
If numbers are so much more important than a teammate who is fun to play with, forget about the game altogether and go play with a calculator instead. -Claws and Effect-
Bots/FF rocks for sometime mine was a Supertankermind.....now thanks to a minor build tune up that sent his defense numbers even higher, plus the power of being an incarnate.......you can call him a Super Tankermind Three.
It's also fun having a tray button setup for his Ion Judgement power for when the mobs get a bit too big......as he calls down the lightning he's saying "NOW WITNESS THE FIREPOWER OF A FULLY ARMED AND OPERATIONAL ION CORE FINAL JUDGEMENT!"
Bot/FF/Mace.... You'll be unkillable. Your damage will be crap. But you'll be unkillable.

That and they still haven't even acknowledged that they broke the burn missiles when they altered Burn on Brutes.

now that Forcefield is awesome at bubbling I was thinking about doing a bots/ff. with all the stacking forcefield and bubble between me and the protector bots the Defence should be insane.
but do you think this is a good idea? bots damage output is very lackluster compared to others and while they might be unstoppable overlords it would be just to slow and frustrating waiting for them to clean up.
also there is no penalty for using fly or group fly? flying robot army swooping down with rocket boots sounds awesome to me.
sorry but i havent played for years and I'm coming back to COH on a welcome back trial, but i liked mastermind alot.
any opinions on this type of build?
