No fancy splash with the badge which is annoying; I only even saw it because I had to check something on a recent badge and happened to see it there already.

I think that on the most recent awarded badges tab, if you hover your mouse pointer over the badge in question it lets you know when it was awarded.

Yeah I never received a splash screen message either for the 87 month badge and when I heard others using the /vault command I was upset...."where's my badge?!" I thought
I then tried the /vault command and it worked...."oh.." *goes to check most recent category in badges....* "oh, it's right there..."

The lack of a "badge earned" splash for the last couple of Vet badges may be related to the Devs basically forgetting to mention that they slipped in the "name color change" feature as part of the last Vet award. Remember how it took the Devs a few days to even acknowledge that was in fact an official part of that Vet award instead of being some kind of bug/leak? It's almost as if they've effectively stopped caring about the old style Vet awards system in general.
As others have said I think it's just an indicator that CoH:Freedom will change everything about how these awards get rewarded. They've probably decided not to bother updating features of the "old" system knowing the new one is going to be taking its place.

But even without that info the first place I looked when I first heard about this was the same place I knew where to change the text of those titles. It made the most sense to me at the time. Sorry I wasn't more clear about it in my last post.
