Need help with high end Fire /Fire
Frankly, your end use is going to be horrible on this build. Blazing Aura, Burn and Fire Sword Circle are all underslotted for end reduction. Ditto for Plasma Shield, Weave and Maneuvers, which is a particularly a problem for Weave and Maneuvers since they are both relatively high-end toggles.
Plasma Shield and Weave are both very underslotted for resistance/defense as well as end reduction. Three of the attacks slotted with Kinetic Combat (I'm guessing that Boxing and Brawl are set mules) are underslotted for accuracy and damage. Musculature will take care of the damage, but not the accuracy, and that's a bigger problem, IMO.
I'd put the Armageddon set in FSC instead of BA, it has enough end reduction for a standard attack, but not a high-end toggle like BA. The Oblit set in Burn is probably okay, since it doesn't have a high endurance cost. I'd slot BA with 3-4 Eradication plus another couple of slots for end reduction, a full set of Multi Strike or frankenslot to use as few slots as possible.
I know you want the bonuses from the purple set in RotP, but I think you'd be better off using those slots elsewhere.
Here's the sort of thing I'd do with your build, but frankly I think you're trying to do too much; slotting that many purple sets makes it very difficult to get defense to decent levels. Having to slot both Boxing and Brawl to reach the soft-cap for S/L means that other powers go underslotted. Considering how many attacks you have, do you really need *that* much recharge?

My Characters
Knight Court--A CoH Story Complete 2/3/2012
I can see the Kismet +6% helping a bit with the lack of accuracy slotting, but the lack of end redux over all will leave you sucking wind.
I know you want to go Musculature for your alpha, but Cardiac will probably give you better endurance control.

In my opinion, fire/fire tanks do not need or want the fire epic.
They need AND want the energy epic, for conserve power and physical perfection, to control their end.
Conserve power, stamina, and consume, along with a +end proc in stamina and PP, Will Fix You.
Fire/fire tanks by themselves have combustion, fire sword circle, burn, and blazing aura. With even moderate +recharge, you can have a seamless AOE attack chain, with BA gnawing on everything around you constantly.
Add in Reactive for a 75 percent fire proc on every attack. The orange numbers fly up like sparks, it's very pretty.
Single target, you get scorch, incinerate, and greater fire sword. Again, seamless without too much work/expense.
The fire epic is massive overkill on a fire tank: You HAVE the offense built right in, use it.
My Fire/Fire/Pyre tank disagrees with that statement. I love to open up mobs with fireball. Use Char to snap holds on annoying targets like Sappers. Tag a runner with Fire blast if Taunt isn't up. In-spite of not having Energy Mastery for the epic, I don't have endurance issues.

I recently made 2 F/F/Pyre basic SO tanks so I could Power Level my own alts using my wife's account and vice versa. All I found I needed was the Big 3 endurance helpers (Miracle, Numina's and PS proc) and a Kismet +6% to comfortably do the +4+8 fire farming thing. Consume and a few blue pills cover any hiccup on endurance.
Also, having Fireball to add to the AoE chain on a tank with no IO set haste bonuses, just a 3 slotted Hasten, really helped. Ditto Fireblast to keep the heat on the bosses when you have eliminated 3 or 4 spawns and have to tidy up with ST.
I would think a decent all-around build with better end sloting in attacks, not to mention the end accolades, could use just about any Alpha.

Thanks for the tips! I suppose I could pick up Ageless to help with End. I really thought a well-slotted Consume would take care of any problems - it's basically another Stamina (plus the 1-hit). I will also reevaluate Cardiac. The global acc is pretty solid on this toon - what number are you guys looking for that you call the KC's underslotted? I guess I should have mentioned that I don't farm - but I do enjoy challenging content, though it's usually on a team.
Fireball would have to be replaced by Combustion if Pyre got dropped, so only Fire Blast is sucking slots. Though I have to admit this is one of the most slot starved toons I've ever made.

Hmmm.
I meant that 162.8% ACC vs even con is pretty good, except for possibly farming where you want 95% against +4 (where I think 2 ST attacks fall just short). Is that really a shortcoming? Everything else is hitting +4 at 95%.
I don't have a problem with farming, everyone should play the game in whatever way they enjoy. But it does affect your build. Thanks!

And also agree the Reactive Fire Proc helps a ton.. I went for that and a second heal with my Incarnate powers..
The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.
If numbers are so much more important than a teammate who is fun to play with, forget about the game altogether and go play with a calculator instead. -Claws and Effect-
Again, thanks for the ideas. I keep playing with the numbers for Energy Epic, and here's what I come up with. Dropping Pyre for Combustion (6 Oblits), Conserve Power and Physical Perfection sacrifices 15% Rech and 21% ACC. In exchange you pick up about 10% Regen and 10% Rec, Conserve and 3 slots. Those 3 slots will have to go into Scorch, FS, and Incinerate to compensate for the Global Acc loss (in order to compare apples to apples). The amount you value Conserve is the wild card. I've never been a big fan, as erratic performance is a minor annoyance to me. It's why I like to get Hasten as close to perma as possible. Does changing the Combustion I/O's do anything significant? Am I missing anything?

To be honest, the most useful power for my Tanks from the Epics is a hold. Helps out with annoying mobs, and is very useful on a LGTF or Hami Raid. Beyond that, I mostly go with theme.
Anyway, just my two cents. Go with what works for your build and theme, I always say. If you choose Conserve Power and PP, just make sure you're actually getting enough benefit from those choices.

Here's the fire tank I play on live, exactly as I dumped it out using the Titan tool. The only incarnate that doesn't show up is barrier. I offer this as an example only: Build and play as you like.

Hello Grey, assuming you did want the convenience of the energy pool, what slotting would you recomend?
|
Still, Conserve Energy probably only needs one slot, unless you can spare one more for the recharge (putting two level 50 IOs in there can be close to 3 SO enhancements). Physical Perfection can be a nice place to put procs that you don't have already in Health (the Miracle or Numina), or another Performance Shifter Proc, if you are needing even more endurance for some reason.
But again, it depends on what your build needs in the first place.
Guide: Tanking, Wall of Fire Style (Updated for I19!), and the Four Rules of Tanking
Story Arc: Belated Justice, #88003
Synopsis: Explore the fine line between justice and vengeance as you help a hero of Talos Island bring his friend's murderer to justice.
Grey Pilgrim: Fire/Fire Tanker (50), Victory
Although the animation time is slow, one of the advantages of Tanker Fiery Melee (as opposed to the Scrapper version) is that Combustion gives you another AoE to cycle in crowds. My Fire/Fire/Pyre uses Fire Sword Circle, Combustion, Burn, and Fireball as an AoE "chain" and I like the results.

The rule is that they must be loved. --Jayne Fynes-Clinton, Death of an Abandoned Dog
Hi, I could use a little feedback on this. Is there anything important you think I overlooked, any tweaks I missed (particularly HO tricks)? I went Fire APP for a couple of reasons. I don't really want to take 66 mish to go villain and back, plus I've gone 7 years without making a villain and would prefer not to turn darkside now. It also gives me 2 extra useable purples. It frustrates me to not get 5 LotG, but I feel like the purps bring more to the build. I though long and hard about Cardiac, but chose Musculature in the end. It saved at least 4 slots of dam in other powers, plus gave a nice across the board 22% bump. 4.5% on S/L Res and less on the others didn't seem worth it esp with Rebirth.
Any insights are welcome. Thanks!
