1 Tanker only

My attitude when form TFs is 'Bring what you want.'

Unless I'm running an STF, 5thTF or LGTF I don't ask for anything in particular. And usually I want at least one controller... and one tank.

In fact I would take a second tank gladly onto the team. Two tanks means more aggro control, meaning everyone else need to worry less about surviving, meaning they can focus more on doing damage/support. Would a Brute be better than a second tank? I suppose, but the point stands.

We see how that worked out.

People make hyperbolic statements all the time. Luckily for this game 95% of them NEVER come true.
And if it does turn out to be true, then more power (and teaming opportunities) for me. I have no qualms with how my build has turned out, but I'll always take more.

Now soloing: GM-Class enemy Adamaster, with a Tanker!

Personally I'd love to have a team with two tanks, well good ones at least.

I remember running with my only tank (wp/tw) on a mission team with some friends. There was another tank on the team, so naturally I let him take the lead because I'm new to the art of tanking.

I acted as the "off tank." While the main player sopped up the alpha strike, I sat back and acted as a dividing wall between the anchor (main tank) and the squishies. If anything got past him, it wouldn't get past me.

Two smart/focused tanks is always good to have. When the team depends on one tank, good or bad, there is a chance that this one tank could mess up and wipe out the whole team; with a second tank, the holes can be patched before the whole team is annihilated.

It's also helpful to have an off tank situation like mine for ambushes and extra aggro via a misplaced AoE attack, or a badly aimed/accidental critter being KB'd into another mob.

Only a few Brute/Scrapper combos are capable of soloing AV's as well. It's not a very common practice in-game, no matter how much we hear about it in forum or youtube videos you see.

My inv/ss tank was capable of soloing a few of the "weaker" AV's pre-incarnate. When bruising was introduced, my list of AV defeats increased. Once Incarnate powers were introduced, the only AV's I can't solo are guys like Malaise who do Psychic damage, and Statesman. He a Dull Pain/Unstoppable hell that I can't overcome.

Muscular Alpha + Reactive Interface + Double Stacked Rage + IO Damage bonuses + Procs = wonders to your damage output.
