I just got here... will everyone leave?

As those who follow the Name Watch thread know, I finally got my namesake character on Virtue. For the last week, I have worked hard to re-invent and re-level my main here on Virtue.

Now there was an announcement where City of Heroes will be going Free to Play! My understanding is that all servers will be in the F2P model BUT they are creating a VIP "Subscription" server.

Will you be transferring to the new VIP server, or stay here with the F2P riff-raff?

I suspect that only the hardcore "elitists" will actually leave the server completely. And I've never cared for those types anyway.

I hope to stay here. I like meeting and teaming with brand new players so I would rather be on a server with them than all vets or paid subscribers.

I just came back too..... I don't think I'm gonna go anywhere. Unless the influx of f2p makes things completely horrible... but we do get 1 server transfer a month at least. It'll only take three years for me to get all my characters over to the VIP server! Oh wait... I can only do 12, because i bought slots on virtue...

Ok, so... now that I've had a chance to read about the F2P.... I'm not sure about it, I'm not sure how good it will be for the game as a whole. But I certainly intend to stay here for it.

I have 36 character slots unlocked on Virtue. I'm not planning on buying 24 slots on a new server then spending millions of dollars transferring them over. Virtue is my home, and I'm staying.

I'm on Virtue till the server gets turned off.

For good or ill.

Would be silly to leave anyways considering I run VirtueVerse >_<

Honestly, if you play on a crowded server like Virtue or Freedom, the F2P conversion probably isn't going to change much, other than that things will be slightly more crowded, and you might actually get to see someone get banhammered once in a while. (Well, not really. Although I guess there's at least one other game where, if a player is logged in when the GMs ban the account, everyone else gets to watch the character get torn apart by demons or something before the player gets ejected from the game for good.)

Virtue already has griefers and trolls that are paying to be there - F2P just means there might be a few more of them, and they might try and be a bit more extreme before they manage to get themselves banned.

Well me neither really. I.never unsubscribed.... Just didnt log in for 287 days.

I'm not going anywhere. If the F2Pers get really bad, we'll just sic the catgirls on them.

This is news to me. Not planning on leaving though.

We'll just have to use our Virtue Nice™ and convince all the free players that we're awesome and they too should be VIPs.

Wow.. lots of epic long time players coming around again. So very cool. I don't plan on leaving Virtue. It has been my home for 99% of my CoX career. Unless it turns into a complete hive of scum and villiany, (wait... redside already is...) I am not going anywhere. I will probably transfer over a character or two to the VIP server.. but mostly so I can free up more character slots here on Virtue.

No plans on leaving Virtue here.

I didn't start on Freedom. Why would I go to the VIP server?
