It's not. They've been to PAX and PAX East at the very least.

Unless of course you are asking why SDCC is always in California.

That would be because San Diego Comic Con is always in San Diego, California.

They really wouldn't want to hold it in San Diego, Texas. It's extremely small, in the middle of nowhere, and the biggest thing going there is the Glossbrenner Unit that is part of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

As a native San Diegan in exile (I had to leave the city I love for the woman I love), my suggestion is to find a motel next to a trolley stop. The trolley will take you right to the Convention Center and is by far the best way to get there. Cities like Chula Vista, Santee, and El Cajon all have reasonable room rates and trolley lines. From Escondido, you still have the option to drive down to one of the many trolley stops to avoid trying to drive in/park in downtown.

My wife and I go every year and we always take the trolley. Keep in mind, the morning trolley will fill up and sometimes not have room for more at the last few stops before the Con (I've seen the Green Line fill up as far back as the Fashion Valley stop). A trolley map is at http://www.sdmts.com/trolley/trolley.asp . The bottom half of the Blue Line and the section where the Green and Orange Lines overlap will probably have the cheapest rooms.

Not yet. Still hoping for more info on...

...the Meet 'n Greet and how to get tickets to it.
...whether or not the team is doing a panel discussion, and if so, when.
...the possibility of David N. doing character sketches.
...whether there will be other new swag available for purchase (I'd love to add another new CoH shirt to my collection).

I thought I read something about David doing character sketches, but I can't find the info now.

So there's an as-yet unknown release for 2011 in addition to CoH Freedom?

"Exclusive revelations"? "Redefine the online game industry"? Are the devs going to reveal that Paragon Studios is in fact a real-life Nemesis plot?

I'm going to guess that the blurb they gave Comic Con was written prior to the reveal of CoH Freedom two weeks ago.

Main Hero: Chad Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1396 Badges
Main Villain: Evil Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1193 Badges

Nemesis just wants you to think that this was poorly worded advance copy that wasn't properly reviewed before posting on the web site. Wake up, super-sheeple!

I'm sure some legbreaker from Marketing will be there to prevent them from giving us too much actual information.

I'm just hoping I can get a seat since the Game of Thrones panel doesn't let out until 4:00.

This would be from the same marketing team that apparently thinks CoH Freedom "will redefine the online gaming industry"? I'd bet that instead, it the devs would be the ones trying to prevent the marketeer from over-hyping Issue 21.

DISCLAIMER: And all this snark has nothing to do with the fact that I'm not attending the con. Nothing whatsoever.

It's only a couple of weeks away. I am guessing there are details of Issue 21 that have yet to be released. If nothing else, we should get some good screen shots of new stuff.

Best of all, I WILL ACTUALLY BE THERE!!

I got tickets for Thursday and Saturday at SDCC for me, the wife, and 3 geeks-in-training. Yay!

New Info: I don't know if you guys saw NCsoft's Comic-Con page, but they have their panel itineraries, booth events like signed goodies and character sketches, and a TBA meet and greet that requires a ticket and over 21. Check it out.

Is there any additional info available about the COH Comic Con Meet and Greet? Time, location, how to get tickets, etc?

I will be leaving Monday to start my trek to San Diego so the sooner I get some info the better I will be able to plan.

From the NCSoft SDCC info page: For a few lucky fans, tickets can be obtained before the event at the NCsoft booth #5345 at different times.

and

Admission to the event is limited to NCsoft San Diego Meet & Greet ticket holders only and is granted on a first-come, first-served basis to the capacity of the venue.

The implication is that tickets will be given out at the door, but a few people can get them beforehand. The only other information available otherwise is that it's on Friday.

Given that there's a panel I'd like to go to that possibly conflicts, yeah, I'm right there with you on wanting to know details. My flight isn't until Thursday, and I'm betting I'm not going to know details until just before I leave. You'll probably have to check with the NCSoft booth to get M&G specific info.

Looking at the SDCC 2011 program schedule and noticed that SWTOR presentation ends at 4:30 and the CoH presentation starts at 4:30. Why do the fates mock me so

Anyone get themselves one of the Praetorian Olympian Guard costumes from the hero registration cards & able to tell me if its Gender locked?

I.E if I put the code on my female toon, am I going to turn into a male Praetorian Olympian Guard, because that would not be desirable in the slightest & very very disappointing.

LAME!

Oh well.

Maybe if I hang onto it I'll come across someone who can trade me for a female locked costume code.

So after spending all of Saturday moving into my new apartment and getting no sleep from being so sore, what did I do... flew down to Comic Con, walked around from 10am until a quarter to 5. Went to dinner at CafeDiem with a friend that joined me at the Con, then we went to the Corvette Diner for desert with the same friend. Finally got in at 11:30.

I'm beat, but I had fun. Got my Vicky and got my Praetorian Guard.

<goes wondering off to PAX West site>
