Certain wandering NPCs when clicked on will give you the number of hours you have "been on patrol." Can't recall which consonant the NPC's name starts with though.
Find a civilian walking down the street whose name starts with the letter 'M'. Click on them and they will give you a package. Bring the package to city hall at midnight and leave it at the door.
The solution is an unlikely one, and I discovered by accident.
If you speak to the pedestrians around the city (the non-enemy, NPCs), you'll get a variety of responses. These responses actually correlate to the first letters of the NPC's names.
I believe, and I haven't tested this in a while, if you speak to anyone with a name that begins with an 'M', they'll tell you how many hours that particular toon has "patrolled the streets of the city".
I wish I was more confident it was am "M" but I'm not sure it isn't an "H", and I'm too lazy to log in now and find out.
Not sure about that link,(didn't click it) but I am certain it's NPCs whose names begin with the letter M. As for the accuracy, I can't be certain. I find it hard to believe that I've played my ice blaster over 4000 hours.

If you're part of a super group, you can check the SG window for when you joined it. Even if you didn't join it immediately, it'll narrow the time frame down.

But for my main its insignificant. As she is my first toon. Therefore the vet badges are the same timer. It is the rest I cannot check.

As for accuracy... well, it can be goofed up pretty badly on occasion, but usually it's pretty close. When it's off, though...
I had a Shield/Stone tank as part of a dual-pact (4 players.) We all played, barring the occasional costume/"we just need a bub or three to catch up" login, at the same time.
Their hours ended up showing something like 77/74/78. Mine? 300+. Why, I have no idea.
Ahh yes the civilians, talk about a major brain fart! Too bad they don't have civilians to list months since creation but hours will do fine! Thanks again everyone!

There's never been phone booths in Paragon City. There are phone stations, which AFAIK have only ever been used for patrol missions (remember those?). (The Rogue Isles have red phone booths but they don't do anything.) Unless you're thinking of Info Terminals, but those only reported who in the zone had defeated the most enemies, and those were taken offline a couple years ago (they're still there, but the statistics are blank).

I know we have badges to tell how long we've subscribed to the account but is there any emote to find out the age of a toon? For example guild wars you type /age and it gives you how many months since a particular character was created followed by total time on the account. Below shows an example on a guildwars player:
I assume there is no such emote that would generate an age for a certain toon in COH? I tried the searchfu but it acts like a question like this has never been asked.
