Freedom is awesome. It's like a 3 hour old batch of jungle juice. You have to dip past the floaties to get to the good stuff, but its worth the effort.

Special thanks to the Freedom Horde** and the league they formed for making it a night to remember IMHO.

I was impressed. I logged and left and ran around for 1/2 hour then left and game back at 8:30. I was able to play wiht minimium lag. The drops were nice too.

And you are very much a part of our family First! Glad to see you out last night my friend.

Great job to all those involved. Even with the massive lag at times, it was fun. Especially when War Witch came out to play. I think the Developers and Community Team did a great job in interacting with the players during these events, and I'm very glad they chose to do the anniversary event one server at a time to give each server a chance to interact with them. It felt very epic and is part of why I love this game.

someone said that the reason they merged the euro servers, American servers and now tested the server strength and load was to prep for server merging. Is this true or someone just yanking my chain?

It's completely plausible that they could merge the CoX servers onto 1 or 2 physical servers but, I heard a rumour that we may be able to cross servers with any toon - I don't know how much credence to give that though.

This was talked about before the forum merge by War Witch on the old EU forums. Don't know if it is still on the cards.

Now that I have got some more “official” information from our publishing/marketing teams in Europe, I figured I’d give you a quick update. I'll paraphrase as best I can.

This isn’t just from me (because you guys already know that I love you), but the EU community is very important to both Paragon Studios and NCsoft as a whole, and have always been passionate about making sure you have a great time in the game. Everyone involved is committed to making sure that you feel loved and appreciated, and I hope that starts to come across, especially as we ramp up marketing and PR for Going Rogue. In fact, I’ve been told that NCsoft is about to announce a number of distribution partners that will sell and promote Going Rogue in Europe, including offering the prepurchase program that kicked off earlier this month. You’re also about to start seeing a lot more coverage of Going Rogue on your favourite gaming websites, blogs, press outlets, and advertising as the expansion nears its launch date. (Ok, that sounded kind of marketing-ish, but it's pretty much verbatim what they said.)

Next up: the box. This is a big issue and I know some of you are pretty cheesed about it. So here is the information I got (which shouldn’t come as a surprise, really): because the game is online, and our consumers are predominantly online, it makes business sense to distribute online. Most MMO gamers in the EU are very net savvy and comfortable purchasing/downloading online. So NCsoft sells online because that is how more and more people are buying games, and we do get most of our new players from online distribution. There are boxes on the shelves in the U.S. because, from a distribution perspective, there is more demand here—a much lower percentage of people in the US have broadband compared to the EU. (I didn't know that part.) Plus online distribution and production is much less complicated in the US, with only a single language version and a handful of major retailers and distributors, versus three languages and dozens of distributors in Europe. So there are no plans for a box on shelves in EU, but you will see Going Rogue available soon in a variety of digital stores across Europe.

Before you scream at me, remember, this isn’t something I have any say in. I’m just the messenger, so don’t shoot me! (If it were up to me, however, I’d have a box. That’s just me. No I don’t have the pull to get one. No, I don’t understand all the financial/technical issues behind it. Yes I’m shooting my mouth off. But I did ask, and point out - several times - that it sure would be nice.) As someone who prefers a box, I get your frustration; although now that I think of it, I did just buy software digital-only, so I’m kind of a hypocrite.

Last topic: servers. Yes, the EU servers feel underpopulated at times, and that makes it harder to group. Last year we merged the forums to bring the EU and US communities together. There are, however, no plans to merge the servers, but we are looking at designing an in-game system that will help solve the problem. One of my big personal goals is bringing people together, and this will help with that agenda. (How's that for vague? What can I tell you, it's "in development.")

Tanking all 8 GM's was a hoot! Anti-Matter, Bobcat, Dominatrix, Diabolique, Marauder, Chimera, Black Swan, and Battle Maiden all fell to the formidable forces of Primal Earth! Well done!

No, did not see Cole at all in AP around City Hall - heard he had spawned in Steel, but has not been confirmed.

I think i saw Cole in the mass of people in PD1 after the event standing next to DJ.

Cole was a lvl 50 tanker wearing a white business suit.

I believe I read that in chat and the Horde started over there and then someone in chat said he left the AO.

Someone said in Freedom TF Chat that he was in SC, but by the time any of us in Luna's group got there, he had cleared.

(Prior to the creation of PI, random story elements had office space for Portal corp. to be in Steel Canyon. Trying to remember the arcs/etc... vas always just the generic office layout, but something's tickling something about something with SC and those chatlogs.)

You can also try RedTomax's City of Data archive. The only "previous" location I'm aware of for Portal Corp. was their location in the northwest corner in the Hive. See the explore badge "Time Bandit" for more info.

...always wanted them to expand the functionality of that area. Maybe have Resistance elements establishing a fortified colony there, using the previous Portal tech, to escape Praetoria and Emperor Cole.
