Im with mousedroid on this one i even turn down coh music and sound effects

as Ood Sigma said....We will sing to you, Doctor. The universe will sing you to your sleep. This song is ending. But the story never ends.

Here is a playlist!
Aaaaaaand now I've got "Hey Digimon" stuck in my head, thanks EVER so. >.>

Ice/Ice Blaster. Dedication to concept is an ugly thing.
Claws/WP Brute. Sex without the angst.
Every CoX character lies somewhere on this spectrum.

The only things I have running in the background is either the TV or the Howard Stern show

Usually just throw a ton of songs into Winamp and hit Randomize Playlist. Bands on the list are UnSun, Disturbed, Zeromancer, Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth, Atreyu, Lordi, In Flames, Trivium, Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer, Ozzy, Tool, Orgy, Killswitch Engage, Silversun Pickups, Avenged Sevenfold, and other bands similar to that.

When soloing I usually have some audio book going, yesterday morning I found out that listening to Richard Dawkins talking about celestial teapots and flying spagetti monsters when I am still on my first coffee makes for a very surreal experience.

On TF's I go for any music that I am in the mood for at the moment, it could be classical like Rossini and Beethoven, golden oldies like Sam Cooke, Elvis and Johnny Horton, or Vangelis-type of instrumental music, or just plain rock like Blondie, Roxy Music, Marc Bolan & T-Rex, Dave Edmunds, Bob Seger.

When on a crafting spree or base building I usually go for classical fully instrumental like Haydn symphonies.

In game music I've set to something like 20 % and effects about 40 % I think. At the moment my headphones are broke so I've been on speakers for a while, and noticed that I go a bit lower then.

I listen to the in-game music. That's what it's there for.

When I'm not, though, I listen to dubstep. Skrillex, Ajapai, Koan Sound, Torqux, Datsik, Excision, etc. It's the only true genre of music.

Don't believe me? Here. I'll put them on. It gets good around 1:30.

A variety of things; usually hero-oriented, like John Williams "Superman" theme, Star Wars, a lotta instrumental stuff from soundtracks.

I never typically have anything going, our house is noisy enough as it is, so I usually have the game turned down and play in luxuriating silence whenever possible.. barring that, if in fact I require background music, I have found that the Tron : Legacy soundtrack is an absolutely awesome addition to game play ! Then when that's done ( 22 songs later ) if I still need more, I just let the iPod take over..

Justice Shall Prevail Where The Laws Of Men Fail

22079 - Best MMO of the Year : "Heroes of Paragon City "
137005 - Introduction to Mission Architect : the Heroic Badge Collection
149433 - The Fall of Mender Moebius : Part 1 : The Beginning of the End

You HAVE to get the Tron: Legacy Remix album! It's INSANELY good.

When I'm not listening to The Cape, I'm listening to movie soundtracks... anything from Hanz Zimmer (Inception, Gladiator), comic book movie scores (epecially ones by Christopher Drake), and lots of dance music.

For SF/TFs, I go for dramatic classical music.

Normally I just look up songs I like on Youtube or listen to my 80s Girl Band Pandora Playlist.

Pandora Radio! It's quite useful for that kind of thing. Electronic music suits it quite well, too, but that's probably just me.
