Peats!

Ok so I know there was a thread about this but I'm going to bring the idea back
Hopefully some day we will get Praetorian-EATS. What do you want to see for choices?

I have a multi-schism in my mind
I want to be a seer (cool sounds and animations and looks and floating)
I want to be PPD (the golden armorish and melee effects are AWESOME)
Clockwork/Warwork (Or give me Vic hand swords and chest shooting =P)
Some kind of Hamidon thing would be wicked
Praetorian version kheldians?
Resistance? (They do have that huge long gun that makes me think that the lieutenants should be the bosses)

Discuss, add ideas, don't hack each others heads off...

I could see PEATs working like VEATs.

Arch 1: Resistance Soldier

Basic Resistance AR attacks, some devices, some leadership, some self auto-buffs maybe.

Branch 1: Resistance Heavy

Basically a Blaster-like class with some armor toggles. A mix of Heavy Barrel and Heavy Hands attacks.

Branch 2: Resistance Commando

Dual Resistance Pistols with leadership, armor toggles and some powered brawling and/or summoning capability.

Arch 2: PPD Officer

Some basic energy glove attacks with auto armor powers and self-buffs. Minor versions of Foresight as there IS a seer network behind you.

Branch 1: Interrogator

Heavier and more varied glove blasts, with energy punches and the control powers wielded by PPD Lts. and Bosses. Armor toggles, auto resist powers, and Leadership.

Branch 2: Seer

Basic psychic attacks from the Widow/Blaster sets with a splash of 'psychic melee' and team buffs. Summoning capability, and a free Seer version of Hover/Combat Flight.

My 2 cents.

I had posted an idea on Suggestion forums awhile back.

My idea was that The Well provided some extra power to Hamidon. Now hamidon can infuse humans. As humans become more powerful Hamidon starts to lose control of them(ie they level up). The Morality/Loyalty missiond in Preatoria now go along the lines of freeing your mind or staying loyal. At level 20 you leave Preatoria for Primal Earth. Either on the mission to Help the Hamidon of Primal Earth or to prevent him from getting the power of the Well.

I never really came up with powersets, but DE sets would be cool. Also the Endocronic Blast that is used by the Mitos and Hami

Two options:

Commando - Assault/Resistance Focused Defence (Chainguns, missile launchers, power armour, that sort.)
Ranger - Assault/Defence Focused Defence (Rifle, knife, stealth powers.)

Following the VEAT school of team/self buff design also.

Generic Resistance/PPD soldiers ala the VEATs isn't a bad idea, but, well...VEATs already did it. I think, if anything, it'd be neat to see something else (not that I'm expecting PEATs in any form anyway). A couple ideas:

~Someone suggested a while back the idea of a Devouring Earth PEAT, and I could get behind that, potentially.

~Alternatively, build off some of the other cannon groups. We have Neuron's Failed Experiments, or Metronome's Clockwork/Seer hybrids. The latter of which, I think, could be exceptionally cool.

~Finally, the idea I like best, honestly (and the one that would be the least work for the devs!) would be to open all ATs to all sides in lieu of an actual Praetorian-specific archetype. I know that for me, personally, just the ability to play some of the villain archetypes blueside from the beginning would revitalize it quite a bit.

Actually I would hope they never saddle us with a branching system like the VEATS again. I love my Crab. I adore my Bane. My Fortunata positively makes me giggle.

I did NOT love my Crab and Bane being AR blasters for the first 24 levels. The claws scrapper period my Fortunata had to endure positively gave me hives.

I could see a branching system if it branched *earlier* (somewhere between lvl 10-14.) 24 is just ridiculous - especially with the forced respec then. One of the things I can't *stand* about it (moreso when going huntsman.)

I really don't see them (if peats happen at all) following the same template of the Veats...if for no other reason than they already did that, with the Veats.

Resistance, with a couple weapons options, heavy hands, energy rifle etc.

PPD with control from energy gloves, or blasting from energy gloves. Maybe some Energy Melee mixed in.

Now that I think about it, I could get behind branching if it happened earlier, and didn't force a respec. Let the first few levels have common powers all characters of the AT share, and maybe every few levels open up access to different pools, allowing for further customization of the character's abilities. Perhaps choosing some pools would lock access to others and unlock still others. It could be interesting.

A good point. The Devs seemed determined to have the Red and Blue epic AT's possess a unique "schtick" no other AT had: shapeshifting with Kheldians and branching with the Soldiers. I could see a third epic AT having something completely unique if they followed that premise.

Probably why I've deleted mine.

If you re-roll a PEAT is it a rePEAT?

Yeah...I got my Crab to 50+ and he's easily one of my favorite characters....but my Widow is still languishing somewhere sub-24
