Maintaining Limited Size Leagues

What do you mean by my side of the discussion? The point I made which you jumped in on (and reacted to rather than read) was Lothic stating they didn't want to kick people but would if they had to for whatever reason.
So... it's a "choice" between removing characters with problematic power effects... or forcing some of our other team mates quit themselves, or risk a dangerous seizure. And you're adding "weight" to your side of the discussion by quibbling over my choice of method of emphasis. What are you expecting here, a golf clap?
Sure, it's a choice... a lop-sided and unnecessary one. If we were "obligated" to accept people from LFG being added to the league, the option to kick them would not be there. And the click-through "agreement" that some are so hung up on declaring as some kind of obligation... isn't. It's a notification, nothing more. In the end, having a league lock function or not will change nothing for me. If, on the rare occasions that we're holding a restricted league, we get people from the LFG, they will be kicked. It will be polite, and inevitable. This doesn't disturb my sense of justice one bit. You can pretend to have the "moral high ground" all you want, but I'll lay good odds that the shoe will be on the other foot for you a lot sooner than it will for me. To wit, you're a lot more likely to eventually want the ability to lock a league a lot sooner than I'll wish I didn't have the ability to kick someone. |
I said you had valid reasons for kicking people from your league.
You seem to be reading way more into my text than I have put there
Wanting a golf clap? Really, you consider that discussion? Claiming I am pretending to have high moral ground?
I'm factually correct. I don't need moral ground.
I quibbled over your caps, as it is generally accepted typing in all caps is the same as shouting in textual enviroments, so the tone of your post was yelling random words for no apparent reason.
If you think grammar, spelling and presentation aintimportant when you are trying to highlight a point and that caps will prove your point over facts, well <shrugs>.

I'm pretty sure you can do 1 & 2, and make a costume change while waiting in queue - I'll try again tonight. Its only when you have clicked the "enter" button that those things become impossible. Typically thats the shortest bit, you might be waiting 30 minutes to get to that point.
Okay let's examin the queue system as it stands today. Earlier I did a small experiment to assist another thread in determining what could and could not be done with waiting in the queue
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...&postcount=333 so to sumarize for you once you enter the queue 1. You can not use the train, ferry, heleicopter, ouro portal, base portal or any other means of transportation that requires a zoning screen. You are basically stuck where ever you are 2. You can craft new IO enhancements but don't try to slot them because accessing that screen will kick you from the queue 3. You can't enter your SG base, if you belong to one, and you can't do door missions of any kind.. again because the zoning screen will kick you out of the queue. 4. If you decided to respec you character or create a new costume while you wait.. you can't because that full screen menu will once again kick you out of the queue. 5. while it may vary from time of day or even server to server the wait to get onto a team can be as much as 20 to 30 minutes despite the 1 or 2 minute wait mentioned when you enter the queue. They really need to fix #5 though.

Wendy was referring to visiting the tailor, not just doing a costume change. The queue window itself tells you that you can not use the Tailor window while on the queue.

No no I didnt mean it wasn't possible to use a train or portal etc or go to the tailor and make a costume. The game will allow you to access those function but what happened when you do access them and get that full screen graphic or menu is .. after exiting it has removed you from the queue waiting list and you will need to re join it in order to be placed on a team. And no changing from one costume you have to another doesn't affect anything.. I did mean going to the tailor and creating a new on or altering one you already had.

You can do any of the things I described in my testing but once you do it automatically drops you out of the queue and until you re join it you aren't even being considered for placement on a team.
So unfortunately the only way to TRY and cut down the time spent waiting for an invite is to stay in the zone you are in once you have joined the queue and don't do anything that would cause a full screen effect to take place. Or to make it simpler. ... ... Click to join either league or both and then sit down, shut up and do nothing until the game invites you to join a trial. With a possible wait of 30 minutes or maybe even more you might want to keep a good book by your computer so you have something to do.

Okay, I must be confused and wrong. And been dropping from the queue without noticing.
Though as the warning about no access to full screen is only at the point of entering the turnstyle. I know you cant do any of 1-5 in turnstyle, but mistakenly thought you could while in queue.
And to make sure we are all talking about the same thing, I call the queue, what happens when you click LFG and join queue, and call it entering the turnstyle when the league leader or the queue when reached min. numbers and you get the pop up window.
Oh I meant costume change at tailor too, poor wording sorry.

Yeah... What I did yesterday was click on LFG and clicked the button for willing to join either BAF or Lam. Then I tried to do all of those things I indictated. Every time I accessed a full sceen graphic or menu and came back I was back off the waiting list and had to reapply. Its a real pain in the butt .. you pretty much can't do anything but sit and wait for the thing to find you a team. and no problem on the costume I just figured I would clarify for you .. so no one else was confused either. I think some people think that once you click that you simply can't even access those menues and that may be the case once the green button appears and you actually JOIN the queue but if you are just waiting for an invite you can do ANYTHING but if you do it kicks you from the waiting list and you need to start all over.. Not a really good system if you ask me

Another example would be a group of friends sit down at a large table in a diner and theres an extra seat. Now if some stranger showed up and sat down at the table with them no one would think they were being rude if they told him to leave. And if the stranger tried to argue that the owners of the diner put the chair there for anyone to use so they have no right to ask him to leave their table, he would be the one labeled the obnoxious jerkwad.
I do believe that league leaders have the right to kick people. I wrongly thought you were saying I thought otherwise. I do feel empathy for people waiting a long time to only be kicked.
