Problem with "One Good Spider" morality mission
I do not like the new morality or alignment missions. They have too many bugs and poorly-organized objectives. I usually farm more bosses in Terra Volta until I get the tips I want.
I have done that one and I do remember the Arbiter having a full spawn that I had to kill. It sounds like you weren't close enough to his spawn point for the fortunata to aggro you too.
My problem was with the second step, defeating a named Arbiter by the entrance to the Grandville courtyard. I defeated the Arbiter but it did not acknowledge that I had done so, and the mission didn't advance and the Bane Spider and captors didn't spawn.

Sorry I can't be of much help except to verify that there is something oddballish about the mission.

Unfortunately I've had that experience as well. My solution to the problem was to quit the mission, go beat up some level 20s, and do the *other* level appropriate alignment mission.
You can have two different alignment tips in your tips queue at the same time, but finishing either will clear the queue. I found this out entirely by accident one night when I got 2 of them from the same spawn by fireballing a group behind the ghost of scrapyarder.
I actually do it on purpose now, so I can do the 'Burn Croatoa' mission instead of the 'Multiple Selves' mission on all my high level villains.
Make a man a fire and keep him warm for the day, SET a man on fire and keep him warm for the rest of his life.

Yup. I've had the same problem. I no longer admit that One Good Spider exists as a Morality Mission option.
As far as I'm concerned, there is only The Unusual Suspect for Level 40-50.

Biggest Troll on the forums? I'll give you a hint:
There is a minion (a Bane Spider most times I have done it) standing on the opposite side of the big square block from the Arbiter. That is the minion to his boss/lt. Defeat both and the mission progresses.
I'm just the opposite. I remember (misremember?) being told to defeat the Fortunata.
I think the Mission Text above the map window mentions it after defeating whathisname. I remember because I searched for a long time for a named Fortunata.

The mission where you meet your double is easy--too easy really--but also confusing in the way it ends so abruptly. Silent Blade just decides on the basis of your very short conversation with your double that you are the good guy and your double is the villain. Always leaves me scratching my head and thinking, "that's it?"
In the case of OGS, just including "Arbiter and guards" in the instructions and/or making sure the rest of spawn is close to the Arbiter would help tremendously.

I don't think the enemy you have to defeat with the Arbiter is necessarily a Fortunata, it's whatever gets spawned with him.

We've pretty much always killed whatever minion happened to be standing at the end of the long row close to that Arbiter, under the assumption that they were part of his "group"... We've never had the Bane and his captors fail to come up. So, yeah... I suspect you're supposed to have to kill that minion to clear the objective if you're running at a level that spawns one.

That chick what plays the bird-things...
I've never had any problems with One Good Spider - and I've never had to defeat anyone apart from the Arbiters to get the prisoner to spawn.

You have to defeat the Arbiter's group as well as the Arbiter. For that particular guy the group is ill-defined since it can be on either or both sides of the dividing wall. The missing mob on the "wrong" side could be anything and there could be more than one.
Just keep fighting everything in the vicinity, even working your way back up the opposite path if you have to (you won't have to go far) until the objective clears. It will happen sooner or later. No need to reset the mission.
This happened last night, and since it was in a level 50 hero morality mission which has been done many thousands of times before, I was curious whether anyone else has had this problem.
For those of you who aren't familiar with it, the mission is to rescue a rogue Bane Spider from Grandville. It's basically an escort mission, but there's a specific series of steps you have to go through to free the Bane Spider, and he doesn't even spawn unless you complete the first two.
My problem was with the second step, defeating a named Arbiter by the entrance to the Grandville courtyard. I defeated the Arbiter but it did not acknowledge that I had done so, and the mission didn't advance and the Bane Spider and captors didn't spawn. I've done the mission before successfully so I knew it was the right guy; he had a name and dialogue specific to the situation.
After resetting the mission twice and getting the same result, I sent in a "Stuck" petition. The GM came within 15 minutes, (huzzah!) and after a bit of conversation about the problem, he transported me to a random Fortunata and told me to defeat her. Now, previously I don't remember having to defeat anyone but the Arbiter, but sure enough, it worked and I was able to complete the mission successfully.
So, has anyone run into this problem before? The Fortunata was quite a ways away from the Arbiter and on the other side of a barrier so she wasn't even aggroed by fight with the Arbiter. Was she part of his spawn or was something weird going on?
