Tech War Mace Lame
Quote:
But you can summon Cenobites with it!
The look of the Tech shield ia awesome, they hit that sucker outta the park. So, why does the Tech War Mace look like glowing rebar put together by a drunk welder?

...yeah, it's pretty awful. Some kind of glowing stun-prod would be nice for the tech warmace.

Other 50s: Plant/Thorn, Bots/Traps, DB/SR, MA/Regen, Rad/Dark - All on Virtue.
-Don't just rebel, build a better world, comrade!
Some more War Mace options would be nice, period. We got left in the lurch by all the ITF fun, and haven't had anything new since weapon customization came in first. Not enough "serious" options, in my opinion. I'm sure some like their baseball bats and shillelaghs, but I want more big, awesome, war mace combos: those other things look way too light for how hefty the animations are.

Funny, I thought it was one of the better "alts" for War Mace. Very Kirby-esque
It's 106 miles to Grandville, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing faceless helmets
... Hit it ...
... Hit it ...

Not an expert on Kirby's work, but a fan nonetheless. To me it does not seem Kirby-esque at all. Kirby (to me) seems to go for simplified iconography. again, maybe I am only looking at his work in standardized production 4 color comics, and you have a greater source/understanding for more images of his art that are more complex. The helmets, gear, shields (like Cap's) all seem to be very simplified. Look at the vehicles in his comics, hot rods, space cycles. These have the most opportunity for complexity. Yet consistently in the images I study I see a drive for simplification.
The tech War Mace goes out of it's way to be complicated in a very small area. To me this is the opposite of Kirby-esque. In my opinion.

I count 19 Mace options, 2 of which need to be unlocked.
Katana has 11 options, with less actual variation in them, 4 of which need to be unlocked (one via a booster).
Pretty much only Bows and Pulse Rifles have fewer options than Katana. Mace is pretty well stocked with options, IMO.
And personally, I like the tech mace, but then it fits with the backstory on my Mace/WP Brute.
Warning:
The above post may contain Cynicism, sarcasm and/or pessimism. If you object to the quantities contained, then tough.

Heh your title made me chuckle, and of course it's so true.
BAB was at one point tinkering with one or two new weapon options (for axe also), but obviously that's moot now.
I can't tell you how often during a beta I would ask Chris if he would just consider taking Tech mace's lightning effect and add it to War Hammer.
For some reason he never would..
I like it, and use it on my tech-origin Dark/Mace tank.

Did you note that part of where you quoted me and I said more "serious" options? That's what I meant. If you look in that list, War Mace has a disproportionate amount of silly or gimmicky weapon sets (whether from what they are, or how well they fit the "heavy" animations of the set). War Mace also hasn't seen any additions for Vanguard, ITF, or costume pack weapons, most of which look quite good and would be welcome for War Mace.
I know there are some people that enjoy the police baton or even shovel, but I would like more options for tech things (BAB did some nice hand waveium to not justify glowing War Mace, which I could accept... just wish there were more tech options), or for big medieval weapons.
Ace, I've always found it lame that Marvel somehow has some proprietary thing with Thor, given he's a frickin' mythological figure. We should be able to combine energy or lightning with weapons and not get worried that Marvel is going to try and sue us. Again.

Jet Hammer, maybe?
I just wish they had more Hammer weapons in the set. I mean there's like, what, 4 hammer skins for the weapons?
Yeah, we need more War Mace skins.
The style is ok, but it's too thin and wimpy-looking. Looks more like a magic wand than a bludgeoning weapon. Needs some bulk.

Want to give credit for a great inspiration. Remember those tech boots you can create with a recipe? Have like piston looking things all over? Have a hammer with the same things circling the hammer head, either have it double headed/mirror image, or or put some other tech looking thing on the back end. Make part of it always steel, other 2 parts colorable. If they could get any of that glowy (part of the colorable) aura like from shield or broadsword, perfect. Maybe on the hammer head, like its got rows of energy chargers (the piston looking things from the boots) around the head and a forcefield it hits with? I could dummy up a drawing of it, but I actually have no way to scan it into the comp lol. All that art training and no way to show you what I mean, argh.
