Who decided on these league team colors?!

nope it is the Magenta folks or Fuschia and heck I like them.
I agree, the colors are very odd. My colorblindness gives me a hard time in differentiating the cyan team from the magenta team so I just call them by numbers.

Seems the colors are right on the money to me.
I wish I could turn the colours off. What baffles me is the choice of colour for League chat. Instead of using a hue similar to Team chat, such as a Darker Green, they went with a confusing hue that is very similiar to Supergroup Chat. The hue is so difficult to differentiate from chat noise that I have had to make an exception in my screen layout and waste space just for a separate league chat tab. It's an eyesore.

Only Global Channel text is color-customizable. Hard-wired channels are non-changeable.
To alter the color for Globals, click (can never remember if it's right or left) on the channel name in a chat box and choose Set Color.

If you want to talk about customizing global chat channels, okay, that's not related to what I originally said. And thanks for keeping the thread free of condescension.
What kind of random assortment is this? Magenta, Yellow, Cyan, Red, Orange, and Dark Blue? Why couldn't we use good ol' American Roy G. Biv?
I bet it's cause of those Commie color-blindies. You've ruined another thing with your inability to tell red from green!
